This is around when people were getting frustrated with Season 3. Shandy seems tiresome as a plot device. Zava, despite being gone, is still just another plot device, with his absence. The Roy and Keely breakup, and her new hookup, seems extraneous. It all feels a bit strained. I never thought it got that bad, but this is definitely a weaker episode (with the notable exception of Roy's hilarious 4am rant). But the season turns around next episode, bigtime. EP 6 is probably the best of the series. And 7-12 almost as good. Good enough, in fact, that the stuff that's questionable in Eps 1-5 feel justified by the end (they all lead somewhere, eventually, but it takes the back half of the season to prove it).
These are my exact same feelings about this season. I wouldn't change anything, but I almost wish that this season had the same amount of run length as the second with just less of those first 5 episodes.

I was thinking the same thing. What I mean by that was that I was surprised that I too somehow thought that the Rebecca/Sam owner/employee relationship... "Stood out" more than the Jack/Keighly one. I wasn't opposed to either (I feel adults can see other adults) fully understanding that the optics may not be very good. I did, for some reason, somehow expect that society would judge Rebecca Sam more harshly. For most of the reactions that I have already watched on this, most people seemed to be more concerned about the first but not this relationship. Interesting.
Am pretty sure Keeley hooking up wit her lead investor, the person who funds her business, will end just fine, surely it's not a recipe for disaster. Not like Jack is a man hooking up with someone who is basically a subordinate, you know, since nobody had a problem with it.
21:40 Eric is right. Ted is great at managing the "people side" even outside of sports, but his technical knowledge isn't great. Beard didn't know anything about the sport when they took the job but since then he's gobbled down all knowledge he could find so at least he's well versed in the sport's theories and history. But I think that may be intentional so Ted can be both more relatable (to an audience that I'd guess most people knew as much as he does about it) and funny while he struggles to deal with everything, with Beard coming to his rescue when needed.
So, fun fact I can share now that her character is more relevant: The actress who plays Jade the waitress was actually in the final episode of the Sarah Jane Adventures Doctor Who spin-off in 2011. Since Sarah Jane Smith recommends her character join UNIT, I sometimes like to imagine Jade is secretly a UNIT agent and that's why she's so hard to read and unflappable.
I know you guys don't really react to music on your channel, but I would LOVE to see you boys react to the song (Cinematic MASTERPIECE) that is Hi Ren. I think it is an amazing work of art that deserves to be seen by absolutely everyone. Even if you don't do it for the channel, check out Hi Ren (by the Artist Ren), jujst for yourselves.
