  • The '80s 280Z is a classic car no matter what part of the world you are from. The iconic front headlights, the T-bar roof, it is all very pop culture and even more so if you are fan of the original Transformers, if you remember Bluestreak. This kit from Tamiya goes together so well and is beautiful once complete. This one I didn't polish the clear coat, as I usually do and you can see it in the final shots yet it is still very nice to see in person.

Absolutely gorgeous build Spencer!!! When I was a teenager in the 80s me and a buddy of mine wrecked one just like that, but it was black and silver! Lol 😆

Thank you so much for your kind words, it is appreciated. Hate to hear about a wreck but sound like an intersting story. I had a hard time choosing between the black and silver and blue and silver but the blue had a more....interesting interior with the silver cloth. haha.

Thank you. It is reminisant of the orignal Diaclone transforming toy. That is what it always reminds me of. haha.

I'm amazed with the dashboard inside.... It's so detailed. Btw, the painting job always blows my mind. How talented are you!!!!

the detail on this kit is top notch for sure. The dash is nicely done and can look amazing with a little effort. Thank you so much for the compliments. Believe me, I still have room for improvement as well. I will continue to challenge myself and I hope you continue to watch as well. Thanks.

Nice job, I really like the blue snd silver paint scheme I’m also in the middle of an S130 build now, but mine is the Fujimi kit. Interesting to see how much nicer the Tamiya kit is. (better dash and undercarriage detail, mostly)

That fujimi kit looks pretty cool also and depending on what version you get, seems to come with quite a few extra parts like wings and spoilers. Very cool. Both kits were done originaly in the '70s and was part of the battery racer era and you can really see how each company did thier research and construciton in this regard.

Hello what did you use to paint the tail lights? Thank you!

The red and orage are Tamiya's clear acrylics and the black was painted using the X-18 Semi gloss with a brush. The chorme is actually a part from the kit that gets installed behind the lenses and looks amazing. Thanks for watching.

Wow, I just finished my 280 ZX and somehow it just doesn't look as good as yours. I guess I'll try again.
