A lot of strings these days have loops almost the same size a better way is teach that the nocking points on the centre serving are closer to the top of the string. Can’t go wrong with that method.
I agree. Done incorrectly, you can twist the limb (and this voids the warrantee for most manufacturers.) It can also endanger the archer if the limb tip gets away and hits you in the face.

I would never ever teach a beginner archer to string a bow the way shown. New archers should always use a stringer
