What a lovely video! Beautifully done! I love this film! Best Catherine Cookson adaptation I have seen so far. Jack Davenport and Juliet Aubrey gave great performances in the leading roles. One of my favourite scenes of the movie is the one where Robert gets the job at the Thorman's estate and the grumpy butler tries to thwart it by telling Sarah about his womanising ways. Her response is priceless: "His morals don't have anything to do with us, Dave. It's a worker we want." She was actually thinking: "Well, shut up, Dave! I want that hot stable boy!" :D
And of course, a year ago I bought all the Catherine Cookson films in a pack. The Moth & The Rag Nymph are my two favourites. In this story, Robert has a hard time getting Sarah's attention, but I invite you to watch "the rag nymph" if you get the chance, it's such a sweet and impressive movie, it seems written by Charles Dickens. This chanel is a precious thing.
I feel sad to think that when that deranged servant set fire to the house , (it belonged to her lousy brother anyway) the grand piano also burned with everything else. How beautifully she played the opening bars (measures ) of the third movement of Beethven's Waldstein Sonata , Opus 53 ! I'm sure Robert bought her a piano ( an upright at least, if not a grand - grand pianos were a status symbol in the grand homes of the rich) soon after they got married. :)
What a beautiful film! Perhaps the most beautiful of all the films based on Catherine Cookson's novels - I love them all!) And what a handsome hero! Could someone please tell me why I have a weakness for Englishmen with black eyebrows and light eyes ??
What the heck happened to The Moth movie on here based on Catherine Cookson's book. Can't find it anywhere??? If someone has it please upload it. Thank you.
This was honestly one of my favourite romantic movies as a kid

❤️
My favorite as well. I can't even find a place to buy the DVD.
Keep an eye on Amazon and eBay. Sometimes sellers will break up a Region 1 collection of titles and sell the title individually. :-)
