Hey Kevin, finally I had time to watch the video, excellent summary. I really enjoyed riding and climbing around Girona, Mare de Deu del Mont is definitely special.

Really good summary of a climb that I absolutely loved. Had a great tapas at the top, which made the hard work all the more wort it.... we did it on a burning ht day in October and the heat was stifling, especially in the central sections where it's enclosed and there's very little air but loads of gradient changes. The first few KMs are nice on that super-smooth tarmac but I didn't really notice the rest of the road surface further up, aside from the three feet on front of my wheel! :) I think the constant gradient changes are what makes this climb a brute; very few part of it stay the same for more than 100m or so... the last 2km are probably the only bit where it's steady and even then, it's probably at its steepest! Would love to do this again but on the (steeper, gnarlier) road up from Besalu.

Lovely to see this after doing it on my mtb this summer. Please note that the restaurant is closed a lot of the time. Last year we walked up to find that our "refueling point" did not excist. We were lucky to get some water from a mechanic working on an antenna
