Uchimata common mistake

  • This is a very common mistake that I see. During the hoping through version of the uchimata, the person tries to bail down towards the mat. Sometimes because the other person's posture is strong. Or because they feel that they are about to get lifted for ura nage. But once you bail and the opponent has good posture and balance, they will simply step over and take you down.

    Honestly it's like you watch my randori and make videos just for me!
    Bailed to me knees and got countered exactly like this last week.
    Please keep making videos, they are fantastic.

      It was, as it was reaping from the outside. Uchimata reaps the inner thigh

    I'm always so confused with uchi mata videos when I'm thinking the ken-ken looks the most like uchi mata and the rest look like hip throws. So when I'm at the dojo I'm like "I have no idea where to place my legs and if I should use hips or leg and what am I even doing, if I'm asked to do hane goshi then what am I supposed to do if I just lifted them over my hip kicking the 'outside' leg". Is hane goshi like around the shin/calf and even if the uchi mata is on that outer leg, as long as it's inner thigh, it's still uchi mata?

    Could you do a judo for mma video would be pretty good I find personally the judo standard for mma is pretty low for eg. We have never seen a kata hajime in the cage from seatbelt we just fight for rnc highliting these differences could be game changing I would also like to to see your theory about approaching the cage clinch/cage wrestling judo style hanegoshi in Thai clinch I would like to see all these different unknown routes to be explored

    I made Judo from 10 until 16 years and I have to say that Shihan Higashi is very great. From 16 to 25 I made Shotokan Karate and then I "change" to make Muay Thay and MMA. Today I still training Muay Thay but more as "anti aging" because I was nearly 50. Martial art´s was part of my livestyle ..... 一、誠の道を守ること hitotsu, makoto no michi o mamoru koto Folge dem Ideal der Wahrheit.... BUDDHISMUS.... so I find GOTT !!!

    Any exercise recomend to strengthen the legs for uchimata and how many sets?

    • @felixbugia2050
      @felixbugia2050 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Single leg straight deadlift imo.
      Strengthen the hamstrings and keep it flexible at the same time.

    So is the “stuff the head” concept applicable to Harai and Hane goshi, as well?

    • @ryanwilliams9984
      @ryanwilliams9984 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No you're lifting them onto your hips at that point. In ashi (leg) style uchi mata stuffing the head along with reaping the leg creates the throwing action.
