Nope, sorry no suggestions. We are watching, just incase we have to R&R our engine. This looks like a very big job. I'm sure once you are all done it will be completely worth it. Great job capturing the swap out. Good plan on the thru hull replacement while you have the better access. Great video. Have a great weekend.
Hi, for the engine install I would add a guide rope to it while you have it on the crane so that you can keep it from spinning and assist in getting it to come down in the correct direction
The thing you don't know what it is - that's the cover for your emergency manual bilge pump...assuming it's still there. Under it should be a spot to insert a handle which you hopefully find somewhere.
If I was doing that job, I’m afraid I would have to rip out all those wires and hoses. I couldn’t stand that mess. I would paint everything white and fit trunking to capture all the wires. A tidy and well lit engine room is joy to see and work in. Great video though 👍👍
Wow, those wires are a mess, looks like it’s been out of hand for awhile though, just a bunch of colored spaghetti! It would be totally worth it to get a handle on it now with some looms and paint what you can, it won’t be so scary looking! Doing a great job, replacing that through hull was definitely called for!
@@AndyandKirstin so sorry, really, really sorry, I sure did not want to sound like one of “those” commenters. Yeah, super big project that’s going to take some time if it can be done at all without taking the whole boat apart!
You could checkout refit and sail channel, he is currently refiting and installing a new engine in another mono, he produces quality work and is super knowledgeable! Maybe you can find sone tips or inspiration while your engines out!
For the love of all that is holy... wear a serious dust mask every single time when sanding / grinding fiberglass unless you want glass fiber shards in your lungs the rest of your life!!!
Any suggestions on how to make a new engine install go easier?!?

go slow. get the space clean physically/mechanically/electrically. now's the time to get that wiring straightened out.

Unfortunately, there was no manual bilge pump to be found. It's been added to the list of things to reinstall
@@AndyandKirstin wow, that’s cool you know what it is now!

Thanks! We will eventually get there

We are slowly getting the wiring sorted. That will be a long project though!

@@nena4215 we didn't take your comment negatively at all! It is a big mess and a long-term project! Cheers
