How to change batteries? On the down side safety edge/ flap :Unsrew 2top bolts, and bolt underneath( well hiddenvery bad access) disconnectvall wires connected to safety flap, battery metal box is bolted underneath with one bolt, unscrew it, take bsttery box out, replace battery,wire it correctly!!! Call engineer because you messed up your lift:) seriously guys this is a nightmare to change batteries on this model , I would day difficulty 3 out of 5.
Buyer Be Ware! These stairlifts are junk! The seat is made of cheap plastic. The chair pads are like the cheap garden knee pads that can be bought anywhere for a few bucks. I was charged $4800 just for the equipment. The installation was an additional $425. They claim the stairlift will support 440 pounds. Don’t believe it. When I sat on the chair it tilted forward making me feel I would fall forward and out of the chair. The second time I sat in the chair, a bolt broke and I don’t weigh anywhere near 440 pounds. I packed it up and sent it back. Now they want to deduct $1,000 from my refund because we cut the rail to install it. How would we have known it didn’t work if we hadn’t cut the rail and installed it. Don’t make the mistake I did, find someone that stands behind their product. Handicare definitely doesn’t !
