Married his dead wife's sister soon after Mumtaz's death. AND had an incestuous relationship with his own daughter. To collect funds for this mausoleum he imposed high taxes. People who resisted had their crops destroyed and thus caused famine in which hundreds of thousands of people died. The man was a monster and not some romantic Prince charming.
