I got to understand this song fully just now. Today's my sister's birthday, but she lives abroad, and so we couldn't congratulate her presonally and make a birthdaycake for her. I know, a birthday isn't a big deal, but still... My family's heaven for me, but this heaven's incomplete when I know that she is alone on this special day. Thank you, Tony, for this beautiful song!
Me encantó! Bless!
This has to be my favorite video the guys have ever done, The light and darkness fits the mood of the song, Tony's facial expressions are spot on perfect for the emotion he is trying to convey. I fell in love with this song first time I heard SGHN and was hoping that it would become a single. (SGHN is one of my favorite Sonata albums and this coming from a girl who's fave album by them is Winterheart's Guild)
4:12 - the very last blurred shot of Marko with him looking up as though towards the future and the last chord by Elias along with sad Tony is kinda touching. Thank you Marko.
Sonata Arctica is one of my favorite Finnish Power/Progressive/Symphonic Metal Bands from Kemi, Finland. They really rock hard! The current members are Vocalist: Tony Kakko(keyboardist & songwriter), Guitarist: Elias Vilijanen, Bass Guitarist: Pasi Kauppinen, Keyboardist & Keytarist: Henrik Klingenberg, and Drummer: Tommy Portimo. All the musicians have acted as backing vocalists except for Portimo. I love Sonata Arctica and all their songs rock! "Alone in Heaven" is beautiful and it rocks hard too! Sonata Arctica does that a lot in their songs and it's amazing to me, but part of it is the talent of their musicians and the other part is the energy and vibrance that Tony Kakko has as a performer!! Rock on Sonata Arctica!!🎸🖤🤘🏻🖤😎
I know this is your honest opinion and I know that there are many who feel the same, but please allow me to counter with my honest opinion. When putting Unia, Days of Grays and Stones Grow her Name in chronological order a red line appears. True, it diverts a bit from their previous sound, but it also becomes more diverse. There are songs with incredible emotional output (the ones I personally like best) and there are those wherein they revert back to their old sound. Diversity is the key here.
Sonata Arctica was the band I was introduced to metal with, and my favorite for a long time. I still like there songs, but now they are like my 7th or 8th favorite band.
Amazing. I love how emotional Tony looks in the video. Sonata Arctica is all about the expression of intense emotions and Tony really knows how to capture that in his stageplay.
Why is it that so many are complaining about Jani missing? I've always enjoyed SA, but with this album I can't say that I miss him. The spirit of their artwork is still very much around. And with this song I think it proves that SA will be around for quite some time. Even if they say it is made straight forward and soft, it sound like those good old ballads from their early days. At least that's what I think. Now what would be a shame is their Tours. I've seen them once, and for that I needed to travel to Wacken- Please do more tours in Scandinavia GOD DAMN IT!! --True fan of Sonata Arctica--
Well, i`m fan of Sonata for about 5 years, and I am not dissapointed hearing this album. It isn`t sounds exactly as theirs earlier CDs, that`s right, but it`s still great melodic power metal. So just chill and listen to music that you like :)
Wow, great song. I like it a lot. Perfekt music + Tony’s beautiful voice and singing = an amazing song that made my heart happy and caressed my soul. I love you, guys. I applaud you. My big thanks to you 👍👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🇨🇿
I love SONATA and everything they do. Obviously some more than others but this song is ....speechless.Tony make me feel what he's feeling while he sing. Harmony, passion, rhythm... they have it all.
Sonata arctica!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT MOMENTS!!!!, THANK YOU MARKO FOR ALL!!!!, SONATA ARCTICA THE BEST!!!! (elias thank you for the pick (medellin colombia))
This video is simple and beautiful. It makes their talent shine, without additional decorations. It's just Sonata Arctica and their greatness. Their passion for playing music is clear through their face expressions. And this is the only thing that matters. Compliments, Sonata Arctica, and compliments Nuclear Blast
If you feel that way then I guess that's all there is to it to you. To me there's a whole new world to their new stuff to discover and man I am exploring with the greatest of joys :). To each his own!
A very good song, the reason that some people doesn't like this song because it's more of a rock song than heavy metal, and that's sad because it's still Sonata Arctica, The lyrics, melodies and everything are just as good as before.
Another video? This really surprises me, 'cause Sonata is not such a video-maker, but the song is good and deserved a video. Now I'm wondering wether they could make a Cinderblox video, I really love that song from their last album.
I came across this band a couple of days ago, i cant stop listening scince, what a great band, i do a lot of running, i cant wait to get them on my ipod
Their new albums are far more unique-sounding and complex when you think about it. Especially the lyrics. It took me a while to admit it but I love the way they evolve!
Sonata's great, I love all their stuff, They've changed but they are themselves. It's great for you to have bands like them, how would I like to meet them T-T !!! Please bring them again to Colombia, I wanna have the chance to go to their show, they're great. Thanks for the video Nuclear!!!!
Tony has a magnificent voice, and the music is awesome, however, as always! Sonata Arctica - one of my favorite bands since 2000. I sincerely hope that they will continue to delight us with their great music!
I agree, i wouldn't say no to 1-2 new Ecliptica style songs but i don't want an ecliptica pt2. On the other hand I'd love a mix between the complexity of Unia and the sound of DoG with those huge symphonic orchestrations on songs like Deathaura.
Music taste is subjective. You just cannot say things are bad or good, just things that you like or not. Those last albums are musically full of arrangements, personally i like em a lot. But i can understand to those who miss the power metal speed on the songs. Anyway, i keep liking sonata arctica and im excited about the new album incoming :)
There are SO many people saying "WHAT HAPPENED TO SONATA ARCTICA?! THEY USED TO BE THIS AND THAT!!!" Who SAYS they've changed for good? Bands try new things, and SA could very well go back to their old power metal style in the next album, or even the next. Either way, whining isn't gonna bring it back. Maybe it's not for everybody, but THAT'S THE POINT! I really don't see why bands can't have more than one style, especially when each one appeals to a different crowd.
Vespertilio Vulpes Lagopus Fera Mutat Speciem Fulgetra Umbra Nivalis I LOVE current Sonata Arctica. They are always changing and evolving. All bands that wish to stay relevant continue to innovate.
+Vespertilio Vulpes Lagopus Fera Mutat Speciem Fulgetra Umbra Nivalis Indeed. In interviews after Unia album, they said the choices were to continue the same way and bore themselves to death or try something new. It seems that they have come closer to their earlier albums. Also the powermetal as such is pretty much a bone chewed down to cliche.
I´ve just discovered this song...make me cry...make me goose bump...OMG.... make me find a real sense of living..Thanks a lots for this song. Sorry my english, a Little rusty
We can all join heaven though. It is here on earth for us to build if we unite together and fight for it. Brothers and sisters if we all unite in love the heavens door will open up for us all. Bring the Jesus in your heart out to help others and embrace the world we live in.
Sonata has been one of my top favorite bands like 7 years.. And i did forgot it for like for 2 years totally.. But oh my god i totally missed this awesome sound and band
From Henka's blog :) "I don't remember us working this fast like....ever. It's really nice since we're gonna have some time to check and double check and triple check everything before entering the studio in a few weeks. As far as the music goes I hear a lot of "old school" Sonata in most of the songs.....maybe we start to become a power metal band again ;-)(...)"
I like SGHN but I totally agree that DoG (and Unia imo) are the albums where Tony showed his true composing skills. People were asking for more simple stuff and SA did it their own way. I believe the next album will take them back to more complex and fast compositions.
I thought so, too, some years ago. But when I got used to Unia, I really loved that album and still do. Also, Songs like The last amazing grays and Juliet, as well as Cinderblox, Only The Broken Hearts or Wildfire Part II are all great songs. I listened to the new album especially after seeing SA in Wacken this year, it was awesome.
are you Sonata Arctica? then, how can you say this is not Sonata Arctica? people evolve, bands evolve, and Tony can compose whatever he wants, and if you don't like it, just don't listen to the new songs, nobody forces you. by the way, amazing and absolutely sentimental video. Thank you for everything guys, and specially Marko. You'll be in our hearts.
"Alone in heaven. What the hell would I do in a place without you?" Beautiful.
..thank you for your support over the years! :)
We can't dictate the way they're going, but we do support them on every step they might take. We'll see what the future brings.
how sad that the brand has to deal with haters...
im single and dont have band 1313
Thank you for the support
i love your 24/7 live, good job
Tony has a beautiful soul.
"What if your heaven was someone else's hell?"
I just wanna say: I really loooove this song!!!
Thank you, Tony, for this beautiful song!
so many haters, they really make me laugh
great song like always, Sonata Arctica will always be one of the best bands out there.
I know I'm 8 years late to this comment but I agree 100% . Such a great band.
all Sonata's music is Tony's soul, he is the mastermind there, and for me Tony is the best finish composer ever.
Exacto !!! 🎼🎵🎶🥁🎸🎹🐺🇫🇮🌍🌎🌏 No pudiste decirlo mejor !!!!
Tony, Jari, Alexi...they all are great Finnish artists :)
Sonata Arctica is my favorite international band. This album is perfect.
Thanks! We're incredibly lucky to have such awesome fans & artists!
Me encantó!
Bless!
Cara, o vocal desse cara é único. Sonata Arctica é show!!! Tony Kakko arrebenta. Tá cantando tão bem como antigamente. Show, show, show!!!!
This has to be my favorite video the guys have ever done, The light and darkness fits the mood of the song, Tony's facial expressions are spot on perfect for the emotion he is trying to convey.
I still don't believe I've hugged Tony Kakko last concert.
Finnish bands metal , the best in the world !
Noumen-Jp finnish and swedish metal bands are just nailing it in the world!
Noumen-Jp Finnish and German
+Muikula yes, and the german originales, not to Forget.
Finnish and Japanese are the best but its my opinion:)
+MillaHan give me some japan bands ? :)
Tnx
Long live Sonata Arctica!

Thank you for listening! :)
This song is 40% Sonata Arctica and 60% some rock style from the 80's...
thats great
I know this is your honest opinion and I know that there are many who feel the same, but please allow me to counter with my honest opinion. Sonata Arctica was the band I was introduced to metal with, and my favorite for a long time. I still like there songs, but now they are like my 7th or 8th favorite band.
It took me way to long to figure out that "The field where stones grow dead names", is just another way of saying "graveyard".
Oh wait "Stones Grow Her Name" makes much more sense
Yeah I always thought that lyric was a reference to the album title
MrTigercube that was an easy one.
"I'll never leeeeeaaave you behi-i-i-ind" This line.... it's everything I love about music....
Remeber the times when Sonata Arctica Songs did not base on a single word, but were epic poems ...
Amazing. I love how emotional Tony looks in the video. Sonata Arctica is all about the expression of intense emotions and Tony really knows how to capture that in his stageplay.
03:07 onwards, can listen to the chorus all day and never get bored, love this song.
Hudebně perfektní,textově hodně k zamyšlení..až mrazivě.
Sonata being the best band in the whole world.
I'm sure Sonata has read all the feedback. The good thing about Sonata is that they acknowledge theirs fans and feedback :)
Why is it that so many are complaining about Jani missing? I've always enjoyed SA, but with this album I can't say that I miss him. The spirit of their artwork is still very much around. My favorite band ever
I love this band is the best.
yeah ^^
I love this man. Beautiful man with a beautiful voice.
This video makes so emotional in many ways, love the sadness in Tony's voice, miss Marko, miss them all with long hair. Love them with all my heart :)
I love Sonata Arctica. Tony has such a beautiful voice and sublime lyrics.
Thank you Nuclear Blast for posting the video of this beautiful song.
Well, i`m fan of Sonata for about 5 years, and I am not dissapointed hearing this album. It isn`t sounds exactly as theirs earlier CDs, that`s right, but it`s still great melodic power metal.

bump! after 10 years, if anyone sees this, it will be a blessing!
Great song. I wish I could see these guys live. Unfortunately I live in the wrong state in the wrong country.
Brasil!!!
No problem! We here in Finland have a lot of promising talent in music industry :) Especially in metal music.
I love the finland 🇫🇮 music 🎶 o love sonata ártica 🐺 🇫🇮 stratovarius ensiferum children of bodom khalma
Wow, great song. I like it a lot. Perfekt music + Tony’s beautiful voice and singing = an amazing song that made my heart happy and caressed my soul. I love you, guys. I applaud you. My big thanks to you 👍👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🇨🇿
I forgotten how awsome this band is
now that's a Sonata video that doesn't suck and is about THEM. I approve.
Sonata Arctica, Thanks for exists in my life!! And thank you Nuclear Blast!!
SONATA FOR LIFE!
Thanks for speaking for all SA fans. I thought I loved this song, but apparently I was wrong. Good to know where I stand on it.
Heaven. What the hell would I do
In that place without you?
This video is simple and beautiful. It makes their talent shine, without additional decorations. It's just Sonata Arctica and their greatness. Their passion for playing music is clear through their face expressions. And this is the only thing that matters.
Compliments, Sonata Arctica, and compliments Nuclear Blast
Power Metal produces such amazing artists and especially vocalists. Sonata, Dream Evil, Falconer, Kamelot, Nightwish.. the list is endless.
I really hate it when people bitch about new singers. Shows that you really support the bands and that your true fans here.
Yip hate that too. Nobody would care about a new drummer, but a new singer is like apocalypse to them
Tobias Maier I call them Posers...
If you feel that way then I guess that's all there is to it to you. To me there's a whole new world to their new stuff to discover and man I am exploring with the greatest of joys :).
To each his own!

toni kako is great singer tree cheers for a fantastic voice
Now who's that...
First bit so nice then it kicks in wow!
Loving this song, but does anyone else feel kinda sad when he sings the alone in heaven part?
I came across this band a couple of days ago, i cant stop listening scince, what a great band, i do a lot of running, i cant wait to get them on my ipod
Oh yes, "And until I find my peace I'm but a shade" gives me chills every time. :D
Their new albums are far more unique-sounding and complex when you think about it. Especially the lyrics.
It took me a while to admit it but I love the way they evolve!
They were, they are and they will be fantastic.
Always fantastic!
Watch them live was just.. just.. FCKING AWESOME!!
Sonata's great, I love all their stuff, They've changed but they are themselves. It's great for you to have bands like them, how would I like to meet them T-T !!! Please bring them again to Colombia, I wanna have the chance to go to their show, they're great. Thanks for the video Nuclear!!!!
..on the field where the stones grow dead names..
Epic!
I absolutely love this song. The video is great, but I kinda like the tour bus time-lapse video Tony did on the USA tour better.
I discovered this band when I was living in Myrtle Beach,South Caroline
awesome
House of Blues?
Great song, simply videoclip... just SONATA ARCTICA
Tony has a magnificent voice, and the music is awesome, however, as always!

I´ve just discovered this song...make me cry...make me goose bump...OMG.... make me find a real sense of living..Thanks a lots for this song. Sorry my english, a Little rusty
Simple and meaningful to me. I've really enjoyed it.
And for those who still don't know this is about friendship.
Finally!!!! They went prety basic but it worked really well!!! Now we can officaly start waiting for the next album!!
The last album was nail that sealed their coffin

Great song!! Sonata is a really impressing band..each song shows a different thing...and thats the reason why you need to listen all them songs
Sonata has been one of my top favorite bands like 7 years.. And i did forgot it for like for 2 years totally.. But oh my god i totally missed this awesome sound and band
What a song !!!
One of the few good songs of the last album.
Świetna piosenka, uwielbiam :)
^^
Oh yeah 'cause they're playing and singing the fucking song, fits perfectly.... amazing video....
From Henka's blog :)

Beautiful, as usual. Sonata is forever.
This is the best song from the new album in my opinion. Well composed and written.
I like SGHN but I totally agree that DoG (and Unia imo) are the albums where Tony showed his true composing skills. People were asking for more simple stuff and SA did it their own way. I believe the next album will take them back to more complex and fast compositions.

11 years too! sonata arctica is great... from Venezuela :D my favorite band forever
Greaaat soooong! Sonata Arctica, the best metal band!!
