Before his audience has a chance to process what he's said, he switches gears and does it again somewhere else. It's much more about access to information than smarts. Ditto! I "stumbled" on this while situation. Not only was the debate God orchestrated, so was my finding it and finding Wes and this channel. The glaringly obvious thing to me about this video is the fact all three men are down to earth and having the kind of discussion I would have with friends. And educating me in the meantime.
The Lord used Wes to finally expose Billy's lies. Wes used facts to dismantle his preposterous claims. The gospel of Jesus' wife, and Barnabas which were exposed as lies was awesome. Billy speaks as though he's knowledgeable and many believe his lies. So it's great that the truth is out on Billy. Thank God for Wes!

Praise the Lord for Wes exposing Billy Carson! I have a friend who really tries to debate the merits and truthfulness of the Bible based on the idiocy of Carson's claims. I was excited to see that Mike Winger joined the stream. Its been fun to watch and hear everyone's thoughts. But Billy's behaviour is concerning. This guy seems far from okay mentally based on my observations. I hope more of his followers will start to see that Billy doesn't have the credibility he claims.

So thankful that God was able to use Wes in that moment to discredit Billy. Billy Carson has destroyed people's lives. When my ex husband started getting into his work, he became almost unrecognizable with the stuff he said and believed. He's kind of coming out of it, but he called me after seeing this debate and it seems like it's really shaken his confidence in Billy. Sadly, these people almost never go away, and there's always a new crop of rubes. Quite a few people who were fully debunked and exposed in the 1990s are still running the same grift. It's human nature to be trusting that most of the time people aren't lying, and Billy exploits that.
If fact checking would be enough to shut these people up, Ehrman should long be gone from the public debate but he's still around so I don't have much hope.

Most of Billy's current followers will outgrow him soon - even without Wes' confrontation. Billy appeals to naive, questioning young people. Eventually, with a little life experience, most will recognize how ignorant Billy is, and he's an absolute fraud. Jesus will still be waiting. For them and for Billy, too.

I am noticing a troubling trend in Billy’s defenders here. Most of them really struggle with basic communication (grammar) and resort to name-calling and threats. I don’t think they recognize how this only hurts Billy’s reputation not help him (HINT: if you’re a fan and display this amount of ineptitude, it just proves you were mislead by Billy all along.)

Billy Carson hurt my faith. Because I'm a working mom, it took me a few weeks to research the truth. In the end, it brought me closer to GOD, but in the weeks that took, I was depressed, hopeless, and refused to speak about Jesus to my child. We have been lied to so much in the past 4 years that the possibility of Jesus being a tool used to control me didn't seem far-fetched. Sadly, these people almost never go away, and there's always a new crop of rubes.
Quite a few people who were fully debunked and exposed in the 1990s are still running the same grift. It's human nature to be trusting that most of the time people aren't lying, and Billy exploits that.
If fact checking would be enough to shut these people up, Ehrman should long be gone from the public debate but he's still around so I don't have much hope.

I am noticing a troubling trend in Billy’s defenders here. Most of them really struggle with basic communication (grammar) and resort to name-calling and threats. I don’t think they recognize how this only hurts Billy’s reputation not help him (HINT: if you’re a fan and display this amount of ineptitude, it just proves you were mislead by Billy all along.)
