Most of us watch this to find out about stock price which Larry is oblivious to. I am long term like most of us Tesla investors but I am still interested in the stock price from now into the next 12 months.Mind you he is very interesting full of useful information.
Every crash/collapse/recession provides an equal market opportunity if you are properly prepared and knowledgeable. I've seen people amass up to $800,000 during crises and even with ease in a bad economy. Someone has undoubtedly become extremely wealthy as a result of the crash.

2023 was the year of Brighter with Herbert absolutely killing it!
A key point to consider is that it is not just about Tesla building the factory, it is also about all of the other component suppliers establishing local production facilities. All of these take time to set up.

The highlight of 2023 was an AMERICAN, premium, electric car became the best selling car of ALL POWER TRAINS in Europe. Model Y is also the WORLD's best selling car of ALL POWER TRAINS. None of these firsts have ever happened. Electric vehicles have come of age and are here to stay, no matter what the legacy OEMs use as excuses.
No one wants these EVS because of the massive pollution they cause.
What is the longer-term macro-outlook on a transport system based on far less private car ownership and self-drive cars servicing a public transport system? This will change the world completely.
my 2c I love the Idea of starting the next gen in Texas (they probably already have started) as it is a whole new ball game it makes sense so they can then build the factory around what they find in early production, with some revisions. Of course, given the size of that factory there's amply space, but watching the development of Texas Tesla is focused on space and distance of parts as it requires time to move product, much like super computers put all their CPU's as close as possible. Always improving! India might beat them all?

I live in Arizona where Waymo is often seen on the road without a driver. This is getting people accustomed to the driverless taxi which takes some getting used to.
I agree that AI stocks will dominate 2024. Why I prefer NVIDIA is that they are better placed to maintain long term growth potential, and provide a platform for other AI companies. I know someone who has made more than 200% from NVIDIA last year.
I bought NVIDIA around September because my financial advisor recommended it to me. She said the company is selling shovels in a gold rush. It accounted for almost 80% of my market return this year.
That's a great analogy and I love the insight. Professionals could make a really big difference in investing, and I think everyone should have one. There are aspects of market trend that is difficult for the untrained eyes to see.

Hey Guys What will battery production from Berlin do in conjuntion with new lines. Like the compact series for, European demand for smaller vehicles have in late 24 in to 25. Site prep is cauiously under way for the mirror image of the current plant to the North.
Elon is not a Manager as he lacks the charisma for the broad demands of the role. He is a visionary and gatherer of talent. Thank you Herbert and Mr Goldberg for your calm delivery of insight.

Why is the shanghai factory able to build over 1 million cars/ yea,r while newer larger factories in Austin and Berlin are struggling to produce half of that?
Shanghai was finished (mostly) before production. The others are only about half done now, while production is ramping.

Appear to be conflicting statements. Tesla will continue to increase output by 50% in 2024. Telsa will deliver 2,4 Million vehicles during 2024 ( This is only a 33% increase )
I loved Larry’s hyper bull analysis But tell me why the Tesla share price is dropping like a stone.
Larry, Tesla follows US GAAP for R&D expense. R&D cannot be capitalized by choice a company makes. Costs which are capitalized by companies may be development costs which you refer to but is not "R&D". My point is this is not a choice but a company must follow US GAAP accounting rules.
Almost correct. Companies must follow U.S. tax law.
Wrong. They must follow tax law for tax filings. They must follow US GAAP for financial reporting. That is why you have deferred tax assets and liabilities for timing differences. So for financial results its US GAAP not tax rules. @@tlee7653
Tesla Semi. Needs to go on backburner until 4680 battery supply meets IRA criteria AND Berlin switches to 4680. I don't see semi doing a lot in 2024.

Let’s not underestimate the Macro ..September, October should be interesting as a result of the Interest Rate trajectory..The Presidential election will signal a return to American worldwide Leadership and Economic growth..or more of the current downward spiral..
When do you think the cathode building production will start? They have been working on that building for almost 2 years. It must be extremely complex. I would think output from this building is critical to 4680 production.
The model 2 should not be announced until it is ready to test and ramp. Waiting for years between announcement and delivery is ridiculous. It hurts the brand.

Larry's right (as always). The showcasing of Tesla management is significant. For years, Tesla = Musk, and Musk = Tesla ... but now we are seeing the depth of expterise in the company. Hopefully, we'll see these people become "celebrities" in their own right, and Tesla will do well to keep them visible.
On India... Tesla needs to be cautious here. India has a reputation for not being too trustworthy. Additionally, 99.9999999999% of Indians could never afford a Tesla (A-income is considered anyone over $35k - which is barely above poverty in the developed world). IF Tesla does set up in India, making mega-packs seems sensible, but cars?... no.
You are wrong about India. I spent half my life there before moving to the US. Most of my former classmates who stayed back in India are wealthier than me. They are all retired now (retirement age in India is 55) and they are spending their time and money traveling around the world. India ordered 500 planes from Boeing and another 500 from Airbus just in 2023. They have built 25 or more metro rail systems and they will build 50 more. They are building highways and airports like crazy. India started late but they are doing now what China did in the 90's. India even has EV's made by local manufacturers like Tata, not to mention that pretty much every auto maker is producing in India, except Tesla. The big difference is that cost of living is so cheap in India, you can survive on $1 a day for food, btw this is a challenge that many TH-camrs are doing in India. You can also spend a lot if you like since India has the best hotels in the world as well. So yes, Tesla will have to make cheap cars and they can do that using Indian labor and materials.
Do you trust China more than India? I don't think any body in the world trusts China. Is the USA or Europe more trustworthy than India? I can't think of one instance in which India said something and didn't follow through. The reason why the west thinks India is not trustworthy is because India follows an independent foreign policy and can't be bought, coerced or bullied by anybody unlike a country like the UK which is so eager to please the USA that they will do anything. India is more like France in that regard. And India will continue to have good relations with Russia whether the west likes it or not.

2.4 million is just a 34% CAGR when Tesla did say on AVERAGE 50%, so that is way below average : )
Why do people keep mentioning 50% growth? Months ago, management said that the 50% goal is dead.

The huge Chinese battery company Gotion have approval to build a massive battery plant in the U.S. for EV batteries. Gotion has secured a contract to supply a very Large quantity to a yet to be revealed auto company. It’s just coincidence that Tesla has announced that’s it’s Megapacks , which use large quantities of batteries, is going to qualify for the fully IRA tax credit. These Gotion batteries are probably destined for the Semi as well

Where is the Catastrophe? Auto delivery sales increased from 1.3 M to 1.8 M . That’s a catastrophe only 470,000 EXTRA vehicles sold. Cybertruck was very well received and the huge order book for it has had many more orders added. The release of the updated Model 3. The sales and production of Megapacks have gone through the roof. Being a Tesla Hater surely must hurt.

Trucks are not a big deal in Europe. Texas for the Americas and Shanghai for the rest of the world would cover it, no need for Berlin.
I have a prediction, the hands of the Tesla bot are designed to manufacture a Tesla phone. Ever see how many people on a Foxconn iPhone assembly line?
High end top quality phones same quality as Apple iPhone is a commodity.
Prices are artificially high because of Apple.

Tesla is finishing 2023 at above a 2m per year manufacturing rate. If we plot 50% average growth per year, the stated goal, we can achieve above a 20m vehicles per year rate before the end of 2030. People fail to mention if the 50% growth goal remains in place between 2031-2035.

How? It's going to be a much smaller car, with fewer bells and whistles. A completely different type of customer.

It will affect sales. Currently, l myself would buy a gen 2 car if it was available but if it was not coming for several years l would have to stretch myself financially and buy a 3 or Y. Once it is announced l would prefer to wait and NOT buy the 3 or Y. If l am not alone in that thought process sales of both 3 and Y will suffer. So reveal and launch will be close together imo.
This is why model 3 update is so necessary so it will be a more premium car and differentiate it from the cheaper version.

If tesla beat 1.8m by ~10K it will give some excuse for wall street to go straight through 300. However, if it is the opposite we'll test 200. One thing for sure, we are not staying at ~250s.
10k plus or minus is irrelevant. It will have no effect on the stock. The only thing Wall Street cares about is margin.
