I believe the first one was a down trend on the 4 hr so I wouldn't buy. I would wait until it pass the high that brought it to the low then wait until it reverses back down and get in on the low that brought it to the high

Isnt your first pattern a bi-lateral pattern of a symmetrical triangle? We would have to wait for the retest on that one or the break right? From what I got from you in the past
Kelly, how do I hold my breath when I’m under water? I’ve charted correctly and picked the right options, but I enter too soon and I keep selling at stop losses. I entered 4 trades this week.. each $80 and under, and I sell at $65.. then it’ll go up to $500. How do I build the confidence?
Be mindful that it's better to buy fewer expensive contracts which will have a better delta and you can get better gains in a shorter term than buying cheaper contracts too far "out the money" hoping for a big move and also make sure you are choosing stocks you can get better liquidity from like SPY.... let your charts confirm direction...DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING
If yer Buying straight Calls or Puts - you should be buying ITM or DITM instead of the "cheapies" which are OTM... I use to buy OTM for years because "Conventional Wisdom" and most always got eaten up by Theta - no matter how far out in time I went... Buy Delta .70-.90 Options 45-90 DTE and sell against if need be.
Maybe wait for your confirmation to enter. That way you will miss the stop loss. You literally answered your own question by saying “I enter too soon” lol. Learn about liquidity.

I would always go the side it validates rather than choosing both sides to be “safe” because that can hurt you in the long run.

Be mindful that it's better to buy fewer expensive contracts which will have a better delta and you can get better gains in a shorter term than buying cheaper contracts too far "out the money" hoping for a big move and also make sure you are choosing stocks you can get better liquidity from like SPY.... let your charts confirm direction...DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING
If yer Buying straight Calls or Puts - you should be buying ITM or DITM instead of the "cheapies" which are OTM... I use to buy OTM for years because "Conventional Wisdom" and most always got eaten up by Theta - no matter how far out in time I went... Buy Delta .70-.90 Options 45-90 DTE and sell against if need be.
Maybe wait for your confirmation to enter. That way you will miss the stop loss. You literally answered your own question by saying “I enter too soon” lol. Learn about liquidity.
