Kaito Kid is a magician/thief who always tells the police and co what his next target is, so they can prepare. But even with all those preparations he would still managed to steal all those things in a magical tricky way ^^ (and also returns them soon after cause he is has his own reasons to do this ^^)
Also conan (the shrunk version of shinichi kudo and also the main protagonist of detective conan) is a detective who always finds out Kaitos tricks and tries to get in his way

Kaito Kid is the long time rival of the main character Shinichi Kudo (The little boy) in Detective Conan.
The little boy is the actual main character of this world, but Every so often Kaito is introduced when he tries to steal objects and Shinchi has to find his tricks and beat him.
This is a really cool detective anime that is fun to watch with friends.

actually this is Magic Kaito so he is not the main charfacter of this world
both of them are main character of the overall world the author create
with Kaito Kid being the one being created first then Conan was created base on him later but since he is more popular there is more stuff on Conan
(Kaito Kid is from the 80s while Conan is from the 90s)
