- Abandoned Super Kmart Morgantown, WV. A smaller Super K. Also the first one to have the Super K logo instead of the Super Kmart Center lettering like the one in Warren, OH. Opened in 1996. Closed in 2013.

If I ever hit the lottery I would by me a old Kmart one of the first ones ever built I would make it a Kmart museum and make it look just like a 1985 or older Kmart. I wish someone else had the same dream I have on this.
The day has finally come for Toys R Us. Tpday, it is the last day for all US Stores. RIP Toys R Us, Thanks for the memories.

ANOTHER VERY COOL VIDEO! The original Morgantown WV Kmart was in the Morgantown Mall, right over the hill from this plaza. The Super Kmart opened to include part of the abandoned Giant Eagle, as you mentioned. The former mall Kmart location was remodeled and converted into a better department store called Proffitt's. That store operated for a number of years and was later purchased by Belk, another department store chain based in the south. Belk downsized its selling floor space, then announced its closing in late 2017. Belk turned out the lights in April 2018 and that space is vacant at this time. You already visited the Elder-Beerman store which is liquidating, so it seems Morgantown Mall is on its deathbed. The only anchor remaining is JCPenney, which recently upgraded and added a Sephora section. Sears is barely hanging on, so it's hardly an attraction.

Manny Quacioua weird,there was no sight of security,they still had merchandise like a sign that said KMart Headquarters on it. There were multiple doors but this obscure one in the way back opened.

The Kmart near me closed last week, I got some awesome fixtures like a gondola to display my funk pops for $5, two checkout signs that I turned into lamps, and a "thank you for shopping at Kmart sign that was hanging above the entrance!
This K Mart had a bakery and made some of the best pepperoni rolls I've eaten.
Hey there! I like the video. I've lived in the morgantown area for a long time. So it was really nice seeing you checking out this store! I'd like to add some tib bits of history about it I guess. So it was repurposed before. A pop-up halloween store would usually use the building during October called Spirit Halloween. Then for a while the parking lot was used as a shuttle bus stop for the WVU Ruby Memorial hospital. Now today, the store is a Rural King. A sorta farm supply kinda store. And recently they opened a goodwill outlet. But yeah that's about it. Again great video!

I was on Google earth and this super Kmart is now a GoodWill and a Rural King which I’m guessing is a decoration store. And the store got repainted with different colors. And the store front says: Fresh Food SUPER KMART Pharmacy. And I couldn’t make out that word you were pointing out on the store front either lol. I also really like this channel!
Rural King is like Tractor Supply, but better.

Yes! I shopped there every night after work...I was just drawn there because it was soo huge, & it was before Wal-Mart had made it's presence known in the SW PA area. I drove up there about 6 months ago -- Kinda creepy seeing that huge empty space.

I used to camp at Benners Camping ground. We would get our beer in Uniontown by the hospital. We hit Morgantown several times while we were out that way. Love Ohiopyle , the resort on Rt 40 with the deer and eagle statues .

Manny’s videos are great fun! Cracked me up when the lady employee asked him what he was doing, and he point blank told her he was saving the Kmarts. Haha you could practically hear the wheels spinning with her wondering who this guy was lol

Awesome video and I think Maura is your good luck charm going to bring you more adventures and more subscribers. That Super K is in relatively decent shape for being closed five years. The wall trim looks like Ames or Hills, but could it have been one of those before? Sad to see this branch of K Mart go.
The Halloween things made me think maybe Party City used them seasionally for their Spirit of Halloween or whatever those pop up temporary stores are. The blacked out area might me the part of the store they use for the setup.
The strip mall itself looks dying. What is a Gabes?
The Super K in my town had the same logo. It closed in 2016 I think. The only Kmart in Decatur Illinios.

We have a hole abandoned Kmart center here in Evansville Indiana the other two became rural King
Ours was abandoned for almost two decades before becoming a Rural King.
Fun fact, the KMART in this video is now a Rural King too haha
Strange that there was a Spirit of Halloween label scar; that implies that a sign was mounted physically to the façade, and for some time as well. Every Spirit of Halloween (or similar Halloween supply store) I've ever seen just hangs a vinyl banner on the façade since they only rent out the location for a couple of months.
The last Super K located in Niles, Oh closed in April. My friends and I used to play catch with a football at all hours in the morning.

I think where the windows were blacked out in the one entrance of the K-mart might have ben a Spirit Halloween store. They are only around for about 2 months around October so they rent out places. That might explain the Halloween prop and the blacked out windows.
There is a Kmart in Bennington, VT that is closing in early August. I've been twice during it's liquidation sale so far but I want to go sometime at the end of this month and try to film.
I think Manny had a recent run of bad luck in open stores, or at least in the ones I saw.

This was a small one for sure. The first super kmart that I ever spotted which was slightly over 10 years ago was in virginia and had the same exact logo as this one. It was a cool moment.

Interesting building, the entrances were different and no auto center.
Based on the history of this location, it isn't surprising that this location did not have an auto center. This location was a prototype for the Super K design and opened in 1996; most Kmart Auto Centers were closed before that (like around 1992 or earlier). There may have been Kmart Auto Centers still open in the mid-'90s, but since they were on their way out, it would have been unwise to include one in a new store design.

Dang I’ve lived here all my life even though I’m only a teen and it’s crazy to see that mainly because family of mine use to work there and I use to go there pretty much 3 times a week and also every Halloween they use it has a spirit halloween and when it’s not Halloween they just abandon it

You missed a huge era of abandonment out in Bridgeville. In the year or two prior to your visits to the BP & the Kings, we had an abandoned Exxon, abandoned Ionics metal plant, abandoned Burger King, abandoned 84 Lumber, abandoned St. Anthony's church, abandoned Knight's Inn, abandoned Texaco, & an abandoned Star City Cinema, all within sight of that BP you were at....They are all demolished now.
That white rolling door at 10:47 looks to be tampered with possibly unlocked, unless they put the lock on the track of the door but, with electric still on possibly armed with an alarm system

I went to one in VA that did when it was open
I worked there in 2000-02 until the store closed. We sold a lot of them and the ammo. Stopped selling them in this area.
