LordKardok: The Arcade Experience - RoboCop

- RoboCop is a run and gun style arcade game that follows the plot of the 1987 film (of the same name) fairly closely, though obviously modified for a gaming experience. RoboCop looks pretty good thanks to arcade hardware being able to pump out 16-bit graphics at a time where 8-bit was the norm. It sounds pretty decent too, though it does recycle a lot of music, and some sound effects are a little obnoxious. The controls are pretty responsive, especially in comparison to my previously played title, Haunted Castle, in which the controls were not all that great. In terms of fun, the game is relatively difficult, but it is an arcade game, they were mostly designed to rob you of your quarters (so normal for an arcade game), but again, unlike Haunted Castle, you can start where you left off if you use a continue, and the levels aren't completely unfair. To be honest, this is the game that got me into emulating and trying out arcade games on MAME. I remembered playing this a lot back in the day at an arcade, but never could find it after the mid 90s, and always had a hard time remembering anything pass the first level. It's very nostalgic for me to finally get to play the game again after almost 30 years.
