Great job as usual Judy!
These interviews are such a gift to us fans! Seeing you all interacting is like having The Waltons still with us. It’s almost a subliminal thing that people don’t realize they notice. Thanks, Judy and Jon! Keep the interviews coming!
Amazing! I've always said, everything sounds better with a British accent. I can hear it, that some of Jon's accent has returned and I love it. I think he's a brilliant musician. Who'd have thought Christopher Robin would grow up an become a Walton?
The British accent is the best. He has picked it up living there I do not think he ever had it to get back. He lived in the United States from the age of 2 though I think he was born in England.
You are absolutely right, he was born there, I just seem to recall Christopher Robin with a bit of an accent. Guess I should have separated since one of them is a cartoon. 😀@@brookehanley3659

Thank you, Jon, and Judy. Judy, you’re an excellent interviewer and sister! Jason brought joy with his music ~he brought calm when it needed, and significance to the spiritual journey of the family experiences (and life for everyone on the mountain and abroad!). How wonderful, Jon, you were able to use your gifts for your character~all so natural and heartwarming! I can’t choose a favorite episode~any time there was Jason and music, it added to the melody of mountain! Well-done both of you. I’m watching Walton’s Easter and giggle at the names of Jon’s girls~”Patsy Cline Walton”….”oh they woke up Loretta Lynn!” :) thank you for sharing these memories! It’s such a blessing and gives comfort in these times!
Hey kiddo! I thoroughly enjoyed this segment. Jon is a delight to watch and learn from. And as usual you ask the perfect questions to bring forward the learning process. Awesome job kiddo. Merry Christmas!
Native means their country of origin like a local. Born in America. ‘Native American’ is a newer term for Indians which now is offensive and we can no longer say ‘Indian’. So ridiculous
Always enjoy your interviews. Didn’t realize how much original music Jason used . Nice to see the film clip of Erin Moran. Such a tragedy in her life. Tough being a child star, going back to the Our Gang shows back in the early 1920s, which makes what your Walton family unique.
Judi, Jon Walmsley's character was beautifully developed and as the show went along he graduated HS, worked in the mill, joined the Army, went to music college, owned the Dew Drop Inn, got married and had kids, etc,...but I think what stood out with Jon and his character, his passion for music only got better. By the way, I've never met Jon and I can tell you now, that we go to the same barber, LOL!!!😂👍
Wonderful interview with Jon. One of my favorite episodes is Founders Day where Jason struggles to finish his piece for his final exam and John convinces his professor to come to Waltons mountain to hear him play. And the beautiful ending sequence narrated by Earl describing the generations of settlers to the mountains ✌
Such a wonderful conversation! Thanks so much, Judy and Jon! I have always wondered about actors pretending to play piano music!! I love The Ironing Board Blues! What a talented and knowledgeable young person, Jon, to compose on the spot! No matter the key changes in The Homecoming Away in a Manger, it sounds just right! That was great, though, you thought to give everyone the pitch before group singing! So, perhaps it was Alexander Courage who wrote The Homecoming Theme which is my very, very favorite. The orchestration is so evocative along with the pan of snowy Walton's Mt. and Earl's narration! When the kids were cracking walnuts and telling what they asked Santa for, I love the way Jason says, "A piano." He was both hopefully dreaming and sad of the possibility of ever having a real piano in that economy! Jon, your acting ability, too, was/is just tremendous! All you kids amaze me with your multi talents! I'm obsessed with Barn Dances since The Waltons and had a chance to attend a few! The Appalachian Portrait is gorgeous music. That episode is very heart-moving. Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to share with us fans! Much love to you both and Waltons everywhere! ❤🎶🎹🪕🎸🎶✨
Wow, this was awesome. It was so nice to see Jon and hear this interview. I have to admit that Jason is my favorite Walton. He is always level headed, kind, compassionate and patient with people. He never judged others or came across as “holier than thou”. He was simply a good person and very talented with his music. As I watch these Walton episodes it irritates me that Jason really never got any accolades or appreciation for his hard work or musical talent. It was largely ignored by his family. Jason was the best Walton!😃
I come from a family of musicians and I always loved it when Jason would play an instrument and sing! Such a talented guy! I really enjoy these interviews with your cast family! It's got to be a surreal feeling that so many people around the country feel as though you all were part of their family growing up! Thank you, Judy and Jon! ❤

I just love your videos, and especially the interviews with your former co-stars on The Waltons. My family was very similar to what was portrayed in The Waltons TV series. Not exactly, but enough so that my entire family was able to enjoy the series as though we were actually a part of the show. I am from a large family of 13, growing up on various farms in Southeastern Ohio and later, just across the Ohio River, in West Virginia. We grew very large gardens, hunted and trapped and my dad even dug medicinal roots to sell to provide for the large family. We were also very musical. My three brothers all played guitar. My older sister played keyboard. I was a church drummer until I went off to serve in the US Marine Corps in 1977. I so much appreciate The Waltons TV series and still enjoy it today on video.
We are thankful for you Judy and seeing Jon is a wonderful gift to us Judy . Thank you Jon and Judy for a lovely conversation. Jon you were so amazing as Jason . Just a natural actor . So talented in many ways with music also. Hope you both have a great week.💕

Hi Judy, great conversation with Jon Walmsley! Music was an important component of the show. Alexander Courage was a zenmaster of composition. He wrote so many exceptional film scores and television show scores over the years. Loved his considerable musical contributions to the Waltons, my favorite is "Appalachian Portrait" with it's rich melody. That was one of the great things about The Waltons....about the time that most shows would be getting tired, WWll comes along, and it revitalized everything.
Wonderful conversation with Jon. Such a thoughtful, delightful man who has wonderful remembrances of working on the Walton's. Can't wait for part 2. Thanks for sharing!
One by one you are getting everyone in the loop with your special sibling costars and other integral members of the Waltons family. Jonn really enjoyed hearing your journey with the Waltons. Nice to see all of you still keeping the experience alive with your recollections, and perspectives. These segments will certainly be of value to future viewers who perhaps haven't even been born yet. Thanks again Judy again and again, really do enjoy what you have brought to the table, and I'm not talking about coffee ! Tip of the day drink your coffee black and never use non dairy creamer. : )
Judy, I met Jon first here in Nashville in 1978. He is two months younger than I am--Dec. 55, Feb. 56. My favorite episode with Jason is 'The Choice', a phenomenal episode. Notice how Christopher Robin's English accent is coming back. You are finding great clips from the show. Ellen had a handwritten copy of 'Ironing Board Blues' on her wall from Jon. The BMI story was great! Alexander Courage did a lot of great background music on the show.
Jon is an awesome and talented musician. He absolutely made it believe that he was playing a piece of music. I actually wish I could meet him and you, Judy, in person.❤ I already met Richard in person. He's an awesome and very genuine person.
I loved John's music. I certainly thought he was actually playing Loved the 'Ironing board Blues' shocked that grandma Walton got into the rhythm!! You all were my other family. Loved Grandpa deftly. Thought John and Olivia were the best parents. As your parts were expanded, I come to love Jason the most. Lovely show and actors 😊
This is wonderful with the original Christopher Robin. Loved Jason and he seemed to be the empathic brother. What a treat....love to you both from Blighty 🇬🇧❤
Thank you Judy and Jon. I always love these interviews! You are both so musically gifted! I loved the song that Jason played about the civil war soldier!
Great, great interview of Jon, Judy!! Interesting, and I had a few laughs watching his telling of his stories, and of your reactions to them. Good guy. Thanks, Judy...
THE WALTONS was a wonderful show and one of the very few where the cast really stayed in touch and genuinely treated each other as family. Most fans would be shocked to learn how little they were paid for such a highly profitable CBS-Lorimar show that went worldwide. Having worked 40 years in HOLLYWOOD myself, often on the same studio lot as Judy and Jon's show, it's refreshing to see them so happy remembering their days on the old Burbank Studios lot. It's good to hear Jon became a professional musician and a good one... today's TV shows rarely use orchestra's with top composers, certainly not of the likes of Jerry Goldsmith and Alexander Courage. Music was so important to the old shows, the themes were iconic back then. Judy was right about playback on the set, it is expensive and time consuming... nowdays it's so easy to edit picture and sound even on a laptop. And Jon was right, TV shows back then did have the best HOLLYWOOD musicians including members of the legendary "Wrecking Crew" that played on hundreds of pop hits, movies and commercials! I knew Warner Brothers veteran Vincent Sherman who directed four Waltons shows I believe, and he lived to be 100. Another good presentation Judy...
Thank you for sharing your own insights on those wonderful days on the Warner’s lot. Another era we’ll never see again. So great to be a part of it. Vincent’s son Eric - a writer, producer, director in his own right was a good friend of mine until his own passing.
I'm a life long fan! I still watch The Walton's iv been watching nothing but the Walton's for days now. 😂 I absolutely love each & every one of you 😘❤️ I'm 57 by the way.
Oh my, Judy! Such a wonderful interview. I always wondered if Jon wrote App Portrait. I say it over & over. Love the chemistry w/the Walton family. Thank you. Looking forward to part 2.
Woah! It seems almost as soon as Mr. Walmsley displayed his harmonica talent, Mr. Hamner and the others ran with it- having him write songs as well as perform their own! He sure seems to have had a good sense of humor about it and even though he never was a concert pianist, it seems that experience of having Jason perform as one helped hone Mr. Walmsley's skills even more. Thanks so much for this!
Great conversation - it’s interesting to hear him go from a British to American accent. I saw John perform in Indiana some weeks ago and he did “Ironing Board Blues” in a more modern way. Great show!! Keep up the great work!!
My family has a tradition, every Christmas eve we watch a Charley Brown christmas, Jim carrey's The grinch, but we save the best for the last movie of the night, "The Homecoming".
Great interview! Being a musician myself, I really enjoyed the music on The Waltons. I play mountain dulcimer and I believe, if my memory is correct, it was Johnboy who played that instrument on one of the episodes, given to him as a gift I think. I live an hour from Altoona, PA. I was, unfortunately, unable to attend that event. I’m headed to Schuyler, VA in a couple weeks to see the Waltons Museum. I was there many years ago as a young girl, and all that was there at the time was “Ike Godsey’s Store.” Mrs. Hammer was still living in the Hamners’ original home at the time. Thanks Judy for your channel. We really enjoy it!
Missy, you will have to wait til spring for the museum as they have closed for the season but if you do get to Schuyler you can probably get a tour of the B&B across the street.
Hi Judy and Jon. These family reunions are the best!! Jon. You remind me of a person who always has a song in his heart. Songs just waiting for you to write them. Your music really gave character to the character of Jason Walton. Jason was the sweetest. Thank you Judy. 😊
I was born in '72. Raised watching The Waltons from Birth to 9 and beyond... Little did I know, I have had this idea in my mind of my ultimate kitchen. I now live off grid and my kitchen looks so much like the Waltons Kitchen, I am floored. Is it Nature or Nurture? I dont know... But it certainly looks familiar...
I’m not off grid…..but my kitchen is very similar to the Walton’s kitchen….including the Hoosier:). Not forgetting to mention….my old house, a 1930’s farmhouse is remarkably similar….as well:).
His character on The Walton’s was always so lovely. He was the kind and gentle one.
Absolutely 🥰

He did but if you watch him he was excellent along and one of the best on the show.
Jon, please try to make it to Waco!!! 🙏🏾❤️
Sorry to say Jon wasn’t able to make it this time.
Wonderful conversation with Jon. Such a thoughtful, delightful man who has wonderful remembrances of working on the Walton's. Can't wait for part 2. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure. Thanks for joining us.
Very interesting to listen to your conversation with Jon. Thank you for sharing, Judy.
My pleasure.
Thank you so much.
@@judynorton2598 👍
good reminder of his extensive contributions to the show. and unlike some other 70s shows, the music was always great and always real.
He was and is very musically talented.
Absolutely.
Hi Judy and Jon.I'm happy to see you having an innerview with Judy again.I aways loved your singing and playing the 🎸Your definitely talented.
Thanks for joining us.
Glad you enjoyed our visit.
Hey Judy 😊 Hey John, great to see you catch up together, talking about the Waltons, good times!
Our pleasure.
Jon is an awesome and talented musician. He absolutely made it believe that he was playing a piece of music. I actually wish I could meet him and you, Judy, in person.❤ I already met Richard in person. He's an awesome and very genuine person.
I loved John's music. I certainly thought he was actually playing
Loved the 'Ironing board Blues' shocked that grandma Walton got into the rhythm!! You all were my other family. Loved Grandpa deftly. Thought John and Olivia were the best parents. As your parts were expanded, I come to love Jason the most. Lovely show and actors 😊
Thank you so much.
This is wonderful with the original Christopher Robin. Loved Jason and he seemed to be the empathic brother. What a treat....love to you both from Blighty 🇬🇧❤
Thank you for joining us!
The PLAY TO KILL A MOCKINBIRD IS IN TOWN I AM SO STAR STRUCK JOHN BOY PLAYING THE LEAD😮
Awesome! Enjoy!
Thank you Judy and Jon. I always love these interviews! You are both so musically gifted! I loved the song that Jason played about the civil war soldier!
Thank you.
On Christmas I love hearing Christmas music like Rocking Around The Christmas Tree and Jingle Bell Rock
Another truly enjoyable interview! Always loved Jason's music. Thank-you Judy & Jon!
Our pleasure.
Thanks Judy!
Our pleasure.
Great, great interview of Jon, Judy!! Interesting, and I had a few laughs watching his telling of his stories, and of your reactions to them. Good guy. Thanks, Judy...

@@joycewright5386 Thank you, again!! I am, watching the Walton Homecoming, right now!! I love that movie,!!/❤️❤️
Judy, great to see Jon, and hear his “Behind the Scenes”!!! Looking forward to seeing more! Thanks for sharing!!💫
Thanks for joining us.
I'm a life long fan! I still watch The Walton's iv been watching nothing but the Walton's for days now. 😂 I absolutely love each & every one of you 😘❤️ I'm 57 by the way.
That's awesome!
Oh my, Judy! Such a wonderful interview. I always wondered if Jon wrote App Portrait. I say it over & over. Love the chemistry w/the Walton family. Thank you. Looking forward to part 2.
Happy to help.
He really did embrace it and it grew in beautiful ways.
Loved this interview with Jon, he is still so enthusiastic!
Glad you enjoyed it.
What a joy to see Jon.
Great to have him join me.
Great conversation - it’s interesting to hear him go from a British to American accent.
I saw John perform in Indiana some weeks ago and he did “Ironing Board Blues” in a more modern way. Great show!!
Keep up the great work!!
What fun.
My family has a tradition, every Christmas eve we watch a Charley Brown christmas, Jim carrey's The grinch, but we save the best for the last movie of the night, "The Homecoming".
Awesome!
A very noteworthy interview, well done. So interesting how Jon handled the music on The Waltons.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for joining us and for continuing to watch. Enjoy Schuyler!
Judy, Thanks so much for sharing all these video's. I really enjoy them all!
So happy to hear that.
Thanks, Judy and "Jason". Hope your Thanksgiving went well. Looking forward to the next edition.
Thanks for watching!
I love the hymn Victory In Jesus and In The Garden
Hi Judy and Jon. These family reunions are the best!! Jon. You remind me of a person who always has a song in his heart. Songs just waiting for you to write them. Your music really gave character to the character of Jason Walton. Jason was the sweetest. Thank you Judy. 😊
That’s so well said.
I have Jon on facebook, it’s so good to hear his voice again. Bring back so many memories
Wonderful. Thanks for joining us.
I love this. ❤ I have been binge watching The Waltons. Love love love. I was 4 when it first started. I remember watching it then. ❤❤❤
wow - thanks for watching us for so long.
So interesting and lovely to see and hear Jon. Thank you both. ❤
Thanks for joining us.
You're both so interesting & John is extremely talented musicly! 👍❤️🙂
Thank you. Jon really is incredibly talented.
Very cool!
I’m not off grid…..but my kitchen is very similar to the Walton’s kitchen….including the Hoosier:). Not forgetting to mention….my old house, a 1930’s farmhouse is remarkably similar….as well:).
Thank you Judy and Jon for putting out this video. Looking forward to part 2.
Wonderful!
hi judy n jon just enjoyed a full week of episodes 1-9 + the 95-97 specials with original richard thomas (john boy) 🤗🥰👍
Awesome!
