Rain will flow down the antenna cable straight into the interior of your tailgate. Suggest a “drip loop”, run the cable a inch or two below the tailgate entry point.
Nice job. I did the same set up with the Uniden Bearcat CMX760.
mounting the JL bracket upside down make my voice over the CB sound like hell.

I dont see how you grounded the antenna...... does it have ground?
Does the hard top need to be off when you are removing the cargo area panels?

You didn’t touch on the ground plane connections. I’m guessing that’s why you didn’t show tuning?

Looks great did you buy the 3 ft or 4 ft antenna?
I have a cobra 19 dx iv on a JK. It has an inline fuse for the power cable. I place the black cable just like you did to the bolt for ground. I connected the red wire directly to the battery. Do you see an issue with the black cable connected to the bolt rather than to the battery (negative - )? I see you connected power to the accessory fuse. Would the CB work even when the ignition is off?
What switch did you wire it to (40 or 15 amp)? Have you noticed any interference with the switch vice that battery? Installing this same set up this weekend in my JLU with Aux Switch.
Just installed this kit myself with some help from your video so thanks for sharing. Just wondering though- Do you have a small gap behind the HVAC controls where you install the mic mount. I can't get back to where it was before installing the mount.
Looks like one of my white dash clips is missing. On the side that attaches to grab handle. I noticed you have one and I do not. Must have went flying off when I removed the panel. Thanks again. Very helpful video.
Any idea if you impact reception by mounting the antenna bracket on the BOTTOM door hinge?
Have you considered a GMRS radio? Better range and easier to get a license over the HAM?
JL Overland getting a GMRS license is super easy. No test, just pay $70 and they issue you a call sign same day. 👍🏻 HAM on the other had... it’s like getting an electrician degree. 😂
I use one without a license. But still prefer my cb
We still use CB, but many guys put CB and HAM radio capable of GMRS in their rigs to cover every variation.

I’m wrapping this up tonight. Any issues with you not going directly to the battery? I’ve heard wiring straight to battery is ideal for CB. Your thoughts?
Erwin Arellano I appreciate the quick replies. Why is the ground the issue? Could it be that you used the accessory wiring rather than straight to the battery? Where else would you ground?
I’m literally about to walk into the garage and start this, so I’m torn on where to wire.
Erwin Arellano Ok so install is done. I ran straight to the battery and grounded on a bolt I found in the engine compartment near the passenger side.
Tuned and got a 1.2 on channel 1 and a 1.4 on channel 40. Should be sufficient.
I couldn’t test it real time due to there not being any truckers near my house, but the weather channel came in loud and clear.

After 1 year, how do you find the CB you installed?
It still works as it should and when I don't need it, I just put the handset away to keep the clutter down.
Where did you find that mounting bracket?
