Speaking of doom, why the fuck did all these sweaty nerds play fast triplets as their first instinct? Can they not play any original improvisation on the spot? You have to write to the pitch you are playing in. This is A an octave lower, meshuggah made A# an octave lower work great on the song Spasm. And doom metal would make great use of it. But instead all we hear here is GRRRFLUNKBRKRKRBRKBRKMKMKM

Tune the lowest 4 strings like a regular e standard bass and the highest 6 in E standard. There, you have 4 string bass and 6 string guitar in one instrument. Lol

10 or 9 strings for clean tone are amazing ( and useful ) not for high gained tone even before invention of electric guitar the acoustic and classic guitars with 10 strings had been common. You can play low strings like bass guitar!

This is why basses are still relevant regardless of the amount of strings. Such low tunings sound incredibly muddy when the strings are that close together. So to get a sound that is even remotely decent you need to mute all other thick strings which makes it very limited and unnecessarily hard to use.

It’s the fan fretted. I like it a lot.
It’s beautiful, and makes people go “WOW!”.
I have it tuned to the standard on the first seven strings. Strings 8 to 10 are tuned to the third fret up instead of the fifth. They were so low-sounding, barely audible, that they were useless tuned to the 5th fret. Tuned up, they are more useful.
It is a heavy instrument, so have padding on your neck strap. Other than that, I just love it.

Most of them banged on the low strings without really exploring the instrument, and all it has to offer. None of them tried fingerstyling.

I think it would be more interesting trying to make it very clean, with a lot of reverb and delay, and play note to note, an improvised solo with a few chords in between lines.
That's where I find >7 strings to shine (I use a 8 string)

Was cool to see this, but I wish it would of been in G# standard or drop f# so then they would of felt more comfortable playing it. Plus drop A can already be played on your 9 string. If I remember right I think Kevin said this has a .130 or something close to that on the 10th string. I know this was already ridiculous playing it as it is. It was cool to see all of your friends play it though.

There are different tunings to this 10 string. The bottom 6 can be standard tuning. Then alternate tuning for the bottom 4 strings which would make sense to other guitarists. Also other harmonics jump out.

This kind of guitar can't be played with a lot of distortion/gain tbh, having the distortion too high will just fuck up the sound for the low strings. Maybe with the gain set to 3 or 4.

scale length needs to increase with the lower tuning. 30 inch wont cut it anymore past drop E, but then you cant have a bass and then call it a guitar.. might as well put guitar pickups into a 10 string single course bass lol

@@WarframeCrunch 8 strings are already pretty mainstream, while 9-strings remain niche. Probably not for too long though. Ibanez and Schecter make 9-string models, but those have too short a scale and no multi, so your best bet is probably Agile. Wish I had held off a bit more with ordering mine and got a Pendulum with 27-30'' fanned frets - then again the neutral is at the 12th, would be much cooler to have it at the 7th. Octavia are really awesome and high quality, but in very short supply and expensive
