Hey Girl, This is one of my fav Cult vids. Look at Ian's look at 2:58-3:01!!! Damn, they don't get any hotter than him. What sensuality and it comes through his music.
an old VHS recording...but soundwise pretty good!!...the Cult @ their best.....have seen them live like 5/6 times in these years...they were the Best to me.....still are...thnx klausisttot for this great video!!!
I wish i would have seen them that early. I didn't see them til Sonic Temple, but i was one of the first people into them around here. I remember tellin' everyone to check out The Cult. No one knew who they were. A year or so later, they were huge.
Great, smooth bassist, indeed. One I never fail to mention and many say ..who? Saw 'em in 87, opened for Billy Idol. The Cult was the reason I went, obviously. \m/ \b/
You've all heard Ian sing with The Doors right? Scary good. Creepy actually. He looks like Jim would look if he hadn't died at age 27. And it isn't just the Jim-like hairstyle. It's Ian's face, everything, and certainly his voice, Jesus, what a miracle this man was, is. I was 20 years old in 1985 and running around NYC nightclubs like a Gothic punk rocker tart, but I'm so sad to say I never saw The Cult live...:(
Thanks for this post, it was filmed in my home town and a load of us were in the audience as we had all been into Southern Death Cult. We're all to the right of Astbury in front of Billy Duff. I interviewed Ian and jamie a couple of weeks later. If you have anymore of the footage, it would be appreciated i think this post deserves an absinthe salute, cheers
@300minus Mine got worn out too, it's available on c.d. and they have re -released it remastered and the sound is amazing on the re-mastered c.d. ,try amazon or Sacred Soul the Cult sanctuary:}
Ian's seduces the audience with this song- eye contact at 2:58- incredible. he moves as a sexy panther, engaging everyone with his music and moves.sexy beast...
@ThatRascal Ok. Love is a fantastic album, one of the best, as you said. I kinda like Hollow Man more nowadays. I also like Dreamtime and Electric a lot. The magical effort stopped there for me, as after that, I felt comercialized more than entertained.
@ThatRascal Nope. This is nothing past 1985, debut '86. After that time, the Electric look came fast. You should want to be sure of what you write before you commit yourself foolishly.
Saw them in 85' when they opened for Billy Idol, LA Colosseum and we went just to see The Cult. I hate f'ing Billy Idol (after gen-x anyways... ). Ian sucked wind the whole show, just like in this vid, out of breath all night long. Too much junk I guess??? Great songwriters yet lame performers...
my fav
I "LOVE" the "Cult". They are the best-looking and best band ever!!
Sicuramente una delle piu' belle degli anni 80...un per tutte la mitica "Revolution"!!!!!......altra roba !!!!!!
For some reason, this band was never the same without Jamie Stewart.
ONE OF THEIR BEST SONGS.
being a dutch woman, i spent a lot of time on my bike and i always listen to this song....i go so fast like the big fast car.
Cool post and music memories 🖤 Rock On!
Why don't they EVER play this song in concert anymore? Heck, it is the name of one of their CD's and one of their best tunes.
It takes a great drummer, Brzezicki played so great on that album, hard to replicate, along with the guitar parts and get the effects right.
a magic album. Billy's sound is amazing
one of my favorite guitar solos on the original album track
this has to be one of their best songs ever off the same cd title. 85'
Fantastic Band!
Yeah, it's such a pity that people have forgotten Jamie Stewart.. What a bassist... And also a hottie, when he had long hair :D
Check out the Billy's incredible WHITE FALCON... I love that guitar!
fucking underrated song
