I first found your singing tips a few months ago when I searched TH-cam for "how to sing without vibrato." I had an awful, wide, wobbly vibrato. To make a long story short, I started doing daily warmups and exercises focused on the basics of breathing, posture, support, and closure. I said, "let me get these basics right, and after that I'll worry about my vibrato problem." The punch line is that my vibrato started improving immediately, before I even go around to working on it.
me my probleme is that i have a vibrato but when i want to sing with it it doesn't come out and when i don't need it it just comes out and idk how to control it
3:54 yoooo the part about the rounded looser part of your voice where the note is projected out more, it found the spot. THANK YOU. my whole life ive had only two speeds, fast and stupid fast
I'm fairly new to singing. I started singing in church and writing my own songs, which I then recorded in September. Your videos taught me SO MUCH!!! Singing below middle C is difficult to portray feeling and vibrato, but I NAILED IT (I mean, I did MY best) on my recording, thanks to your videos!!!! My vibrato is fast and seems to come easier when I'm singing powerfully. Not sure why that is other than more air flow? I was actually impressed with my vibrato on some places on the album because I did not realize how well I had done at the time. I worked for HOURS AND HOURS every day to do my best, and I am so glad I did. It paid off in the end. I have 2 spots on the album where my vibrato was NOT good. I got nervous and I can hear it wobble. The vibration is a VERY shallow rapid wave that just sounds like I nervous, which I was! The second spot my vibrato is incomplete. It starts and stops after one wave. 😬 I probably could have asked them to fix the spots but didn't notice it until it was too late. I'm hoping others don't notice. We are our own worst critics after all. I sing for church, so no professionals are critiquing me. Next time, I'll do better!
Wow this has helped me a lot, I actually had trouble knowing where to go with my singing, I was very lost when I sung, sometimes I couldn't understand why I couldn't hit the notes, then I learnt what you've taught me. THANKS!
sure, it's all a matter of taste and Freya's a wonderful lovely singer/teacher! but her vibrato-analysis in this case is probably not so helpful or relevant . . .just sayin.
What I find curious is that when certain singers, perhaps most, get "old," they develop a slow vibrato or a wobble and they are forced to retire because of this. For such a person it would seem that there is some technical flaw or vocal abuse that eventually catches up to them, such as diminishing support or singing too heavily for too long. I don't think we can just say that it is "old age." It is a mystery to me.
@@amirnasri1929 Well, life in this world is temporary, but given reasonably good health, singers should still be able to sing well into old age. Many professional singers cannot continue to sing beautifully beyond a certain age for some reason of which I am not sure. Check this out: th-cam.com/video/ZF1y6Vk5bds/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=DCaspar
Thank you for your lessons. You are a great teacher and a wonderful singer. I have just a request to do : could you help us to SING harmonized SILENT NIGHT, in the style of Kelly Clarkson, please? Have a nice day 🤗🤗🤗
I have a problem getting vibrato to occur without "doing" it. I love the opera singers who have a controller vibrato that just roll off the voice. When I "do vibrato" I run out of air very fast.
I just figured out vibrato today. But I've been trying for years. When It came in, and now, it's really fast and I think it's narrow. But it sounds bad. Like a sheep. And my voice does not feel relaxed most of the time. I thought vibrato could only happen with relaxation… What do you think is wrong? Can you help me?
all the videos about this matter explain it comes from the middle or from the base. no one however explains what they mean by that. its really really frustrating.
If it hurts you're using muscles that shouldn't be involved, you're pushing from your throat, or stiffening your neck or jaw. Also you're likely not supporting totally or partially from your diaphragm. These are roughly the main reasons for hurting in your throat when you sing
Could you please make a video on how to sing LOST STARS by Adam Levine.. I'm a beginner and I wanna learn it for a competition... Please Please... I would be really grateful.... Tell me the tips how to sing this song... Please
@@amirnasri1929 Very good! A "real" question. Let me answer by explaining what is not real art in singing. The number one disqualification relevant to music that we hear today is the over use of electronic enhancement. Just as a national election can be made fraudulent because of computer meddling so can singing that uses pitch correction, super hot amplification, excess reverb, equalization, etc. In other words, all the qualities that make for good singing technique: pitch, resonance, tone, power and endurance; are artificially produced by computers and sophisticated board and PA systems. This cannot be real art because it is not real by definition. And of course, lip syncing is the ultimate fraud. I would also say that this rules out just about all studio recordings. They may sound nice but they cannot be classified as art other than "electronic art." So if we take away the smoke and mirrors of computer and electronic enhancement, beautiful singing, real art, is actually quite easy to identify. A sound that thrills the senses and moves the heart will stand out to most as obvious. th-cam.com/video/9WdaWx8fu1Y/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=allimerri
@@John_Malloy You are right to say it. I also do not consider the use of autotun an art. But I suggested Dimash Kudaibergen because he created exceptional art alone without Autotun only his true voice.
Dimash have a wide vocal range. But I really think he uses his whistle to impress the audience, not to actually make the song "beautiful" or makes it sound better. Don't get me wrong, he's amazing and his D8 was so impressive, but he just uses just to make people impressed. That's my take on that.
My vibrato is fast and for the songs I want to sing they have a more slow vibrato which I don’t know how to do yet. Thank you so much for this!
Same happens with me
How to do slow vibrato
This. My natural vibrato is pretty fast and I hate it lol. How do I widen and slow it down?
i wish i had fast vibrato, mine comes and goes
@@x3BobO for my type of singing fast vibrato is the dream lol.
When you were giving examples of slow vibrato, you reminded of jazz and blues singers. Thank you.

Where can I find the album?
What videos did you use to improve your vibrato? I also feel like it’s harder to do vibrado when I do softer more airy voices :(
Even when you try to show poor/unsupported singing habits, you're still so musical!! =)
Yes I agree! And only trained professionals can tell the difference. And both styles sound good!

I feel like my vibrato is too fast when I try to sing in a higher register. However when I sing lower it is more controlled.

Yes I learn a lot before I can't do it for your tips thanks a lot coach freya
You're the first person to relate breath support to speed of vibrato
Mine can be very wide and wobbly and takes a lot to eliminate. I can see how it is something I could train. ❤

Vibrato is simple "Dressing" the end of a note.
I think to speed it up, we need more tention in the toung, a light pressure downwards at the back part of toung .

How to sing really fast vibrato like Hank Williams Jr and Waylon Jennings?
Only thing I struggle with is holding my vibrato when I sing my note “Me” 😂
Have tried to speed up vibrato but can’t. Does old age naturally slow the vibrato? To me, a bass with slow wobbly vibrato is worse to listen to.
all the videos about this matter explain it comes from the middle or from the base. no one however explains what they mean by that. its really really frustrating.
But I have a question but how will u do it as we push it from our diagram and sing it makes so hard
Many electric guitars have bar to do vibrato however they call it a tremolo bar which is incorrect because the bar varies pitch rather than volume
Interesting!
If you have a natural vibrato how do learn not to sing with it
I know right??
