This trilogy is a masterpiece that i dont think many bands could have created so beautifully but also harrowing. But i think that it also gets so much extra praise as it was also capturing the emotions of people who cant even appreciate the talent of deathcore bands!
Awesome reactions and summing up the 3 you were spot on , when this came out my wife was just taken into hospital with cancer , I watched every reaction TH-camr react and had a few good cries , you are right I did feel hopeless at not being able to help with this , but being there and all the support she is slowly improving with treatment, this trilogy still brings a tear to my eye, I have it on my playlist and looking forward to seeing the band doing it live in June .
In Pain Remains II, he never actually cuts his throat. He falls to the ground before cutting it, after cutting his wrists. Pain II is definitely before III. Often the family is allowed in before the actual funeral. Thats when he cut himself.
I think there's this natural aversion to these type of vocals because we associate screaming with fear, pain, aggression and so we recoil. But after you listen to it for a while you realize it's just another way for a singer to express themselves. That's why a lot of people dislike this kind of music at first but grow to love it I believe.
@@SlayWithBrandyThe truth is if Taylor Swift actually managed to create something this honest, that thoroughly examines our own humanity, it would be a masterpiece, I love metal, regardless of subgenre, I sleep to Slayer, but in this specific example, the screaming fits, when you deal with these types of emotions, the rage overtakes you and this is the natural progression. This is an absolute masterpiece. I watched your reaction to Until the World Goes Cold tonight and actually requested this in the comments and then found it randomly, so disregard the comment, but thanks for taking the time for this.
@@SlayWithBrandy I thought the same. Once this one started and he was moving it made more sense. I also saw a video of director a while back and he was explaining his thought process
@@SlayWithBrandy You never saw a series/film in which someone dies but his death isn't visually confirmed, and then the guy that was supposed to be dead in everyone's mind comes back? it's kinda of a classic. At the end of part 2 when i didn't saw him cutting his throat and when, after that, he was conveniently framed from the chin and above, i thought "ok he fainted before he could kill himself, after all there's a part 3, it will be his healing process, mentally and physically". Well, i wasn't right about the healing process, i guess ;)
@@SlayWithBrandy The story of the Pain Remains trilogy relies on listening to the full album and the story it tells. The reason why the guy doesn't die in the story, is because everything he is experiencing isn't real, he's trapped in his own dream, which he rules like a God. Out of loneliness he creates a "wife", a fictional life, and everything else but soon he breaks free of the delusion and realises none of it is real, and starts to reject it, which starts Part 1, the "wife" dies and is removed from the dream, leaving him even more depressed and alone, which is why Part 2, is so aggressive and more brutal, as he's angry at the fact he's trapped in the dream suffering, so he tries to end it. Part 3, is him realising that the only way to escape the dream, is to destroy the dream itself. The story of the whole album stated by Will in an interview was Paprika (2006) a Japanese anime that has a similar plot line about dreams, it also served as the inspiration of Inception (2010)
fun fact: it's really an happy ending (kinda). the video for the 3 songs are just the story of a guy losing his beloved one and killing himself, but in the whole story of the pain remains album, the guy starts by sleeping (welcome back, o' sleeping dreamer) and dreaming (into the earth) about him becoming an omnipotent being (sun eater). Then, in his dream he creates a whole world (cursed to die) but in that world he lose his beloved one (pain remains part 1), then he tries to kill himself (pain remains part 2) and when he fails, he decided to not just kill himself but destroy his whole world and coming back to his real one (pain remains part 3). (i really don't know if "soulless existence", "apotheosis" and "wrath" fits in the story and how, i didn't dug much in the lyrics of those, but the whole "it's a concept album of a guy becoming a god and creating a dreaming world" was confirmed by will ramos in many interviews).

YES!!
Straight in the feels. Amazing track
agreed
He didn’t die in 2nd one. He did know how and passed out before he cut neck.
If he cut his wrists to do it he would not be able to grip the knife
The last one almost felt like it was implied hence why I thought that at first
