yeah that's why i'm here, sadly i don't think it's for me even though it's very tempting being so cheap. But I much prefer unrealistick shooters like doom and bioshock, sadly not to many of those around. So division or any realistick shooter have to be like pretty much 10/10 before i give them a try

I respect the review, but for me it’s 9/10 easily. The game was amazing at launch and that alone is rare now days.

Personally, it feels like The Division 2's launch has been a lot smoother than others. It's not without flaws though. There's a number of technical issues which will immediately jump out at you the more you explore. Texture pop-ins, graphical glitches and draw times are all issues with the environment. I've had enemies drop in out of nowhere even though my radar clearly showed them in front of me. And sometimes it's actually better to sprint to your destination than "fast travel" depending on where you go.
There's way more than enough content here for completionists though. And, like James said in his review, between story, side story and roaming world events, it can keep you busy in PvE for quite a while. Great review James. and hopefully Ubisoft can keep their road map on track while fixing the quirks in the system.

If you run this game on an SSD, fast travel is well, fast.
i personally haven't had any of your stated technical issues with enemies/textures (or any issues at all really) during my 100+ hours. the game seemed to load pretty quickly while testing it on my HDD and my SSD (if that's what you meant by 'better to sprint to your destination'). i'm sure everyone's experience will vary but i find it important to remind people that most players do not have these issues and there's no way to be sure until you have the game running on your own machine.
with that said, i agree with what most everyone seems to be saying about the game's extremely robust offering of content on day 1 and how impressive it is to see nowadays from a game in this genre. at over 100 hours i am still finding new side missions (just found one today) and collecting all the blueprints, doing all the bounties, leveling up my clan, chasing down exotics, fighting hunters, etc.etc. the list goes on. tbh nobody needs someone else telling them if they'll like a game or not - you know what you like and if you think you'd like Division 2, chances are you will.
@@whostolethefunk it could be the version you're playing as well. And, I should have stated that in my original comment. Which platform are you on? I'm on Xbox One so perhaps the other platforms are better calibrated graphically for higher graphics, frame rate etc. I know a few other reviews on Xbox One X have also reported sound effect drops and mistiming too. Such as bullet ricochet sounds and general firing effects. That could also be platform specific as well.
I'm 45 hours in, GS453 and playing it on PC. Absolutely stunning game and I can't get enough of it. Was a huge fan of the original and the sequel is just a phenomenal step up. Well done Ubisoft Massive, you guys deserve to be very proud.

@@gatsbywasasimp4641 I mean, yes and no. You can already almost guarantee that most the games coming out this year will be full of bugs and barely even work on release. Where as, Division 2 works quite flawlessly, not saying it doesn't have bugs. But it doesn't have 10 minute loading screens nor have game crashes all the time.

Vroom vroom A lot of games released this year though. Resident Evil 2, Anthem, Devil May Cry 5, Metro Exodus, Anthem, Sekiro, Kingdom Hearts 3, Far Cry New Dawn and The Division 2 are AAA releases so far in 2019. That’s a lot, considering we are only 1/4 of the way through the year.

Sylvester Folks if they don’t become greedy like rockstar activision or EA in a few years they will be the best developers/publishers. Especially since watch dogs 3 will launch in a few years and will probably be a staple game for next gen.

Well I think a lot of people didn't like that you got xp for killing animals in the first one and in a lot of ubisoft games you hunt and kill animals so maybe they wanted it to be different

I don't know if anyone cares but I bought this game and the 1 year season pass included for $9.99 on Epic Store, its on sale until January 1st 2020.
It seems that you bought the Gold edition, but you have missed the opportunity to buy the Ultimate Version (that includes the 1 year pass and additional contents) for even cheaper, I bought it for 6.78$ the standard version was for 4.99$ :)

If only this game had the stealth abilities like in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, for instance. It would be perfect.
I've been playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint like a kind of open world Splinter Cell, it's actually pretty fun going through the missions like that. Even though it'll never come close to replacing or measuring up to Splinter Cell, it at least scratches that itch a little bit.

If you’re talking about the state of launch you’re absolutely right this is a full game not a quarter like the first one,anthem and both destinys launches with. They really understand their player base. Bungie is playing this game as well I know they will take some lessons from this. Loving this game
@@Ogdazee totally! and to be fair to bungie as a Dev, i am sure they understand! its the publisher that has the say on how they distribute the game, they literally tell bungie "No, put that in for DLC and do it that way" and as a dev is being bank rolled to make their game they kinda have to nod..I'm sure they got it down now and having separated from Activision will do things the way they want to from here forward..

I was a fan of the first so I’m definitely loving the time I’ve spent in Washington. I’m an east coast jersey man but this new map is just Amazingly Awesome compared to New York.

this looks like the game we should have gotten originally. the mechnics seem much more polished now.
I clear rooms with the drone and the turret, have to place these strategically, High ground is your friend with the drone; Also be sure to drop them both upon introduction, throw a grenade to where the enemies flee to and light up any survivors with a light machine gun or whatever.

Anyone else wish the division would switch from a cover shooter/looter shooter to more of a realistic stealth shooter? I just feel like these game would be amazing with realistic bullet damage and a splinter cell style stealth game.

Honestly its not as bad as it looks. It might be a little confusing for new players (stat wise) but you'll get the hang of it

i put 180 hrs into Division 1, 120 hrs in Ghost recon Wildlands, 89 hrs into Origins, 60 hrs into the Witcher, 40+ into Odyssey. When is it going to stop!!!!

Depends on whether or not you’re into this kind of game. If you have friends who play it might be a reason to buy. I have Breakpoint and I feel like that’s a better version of this game and more my style.

"The freedom of tackle this tasks in any order you wish, keeps them from feeling like an obligatory grind". Absolutely disagree. I really enjoy discovering Washingtong in this game, but for every 40 minutes I spend advancing in the game, I feel like I must spend another 1h20m to grind experience points. Perfect example of an artificially extended campaign with very little content.
the division series is failing because of the lack of stealth.
This feels like one of those games where you'd look it up and find stealth vs mayhem videos

Dark Zone is probably the best pvp i've seen in a game. Much better than the bland recent pvp games (They're all the same). You actually gain something for playing pvp (high-end loot) and theres different ways of playing
Yixe it all originated with runescape which did a darkzone like area perfectly. High risk high reward and not low risk high reward or high risk low reward also you could betray your teammates :)) morning

I got this for PC for $3.99 in Canada. It’s a got its share of issues (stuttering) but if you can work around it the gameplay loop is a lot of fun.
If you played the division 1, than you're gonna definitely like td2.

Never thought I'd see the day ubisoft schools bioware. Its nice to see someone release a competent game as a service. Though it has its shortcomings The Division 2 is far above its competitors imo.

There's some fair criticism here but I greatly enjoy the difference the endgame has especially the actually functioning darkzone. It really is a coop game though I would have less fun without a friend on

No the Division 2 it's a mess I've had frame rate issues I've had the game game fail and put me back at the home screen hell every time I press the PS Button the game freezes. The game has got some serious issue and I find it funny it ain't mentioned at all. You'd think this is stuff ppl would like to know in a review before buying the game.
