    What a cool little flight and most definitely some beautiful countryside. As always thanks for sharing this with us all and I'll see you in the next one.

    Loved the video. My dad taught me and my brother how to fly. He owned a couple of Colts. This video brought back a lot of memories.

    Hi David. I’m an aviation enthusiast and pilot on a long flying Sabattical. ($$) I came across your videos because I like the Tri Pacer; and enjoy watching your videos.......quite adventurous.

    Nicely done on the landing. I have flown in that part of Kentucky several times (I am located farther west in Ky) mainly heading to London Ky , a friend of mine flies almost weekly into Wayne County for work.

    Good to see you back in the air. I love your Tripacer. As I mentioned some time ago I had a PA-22 Red and White sn 298 built in 1952. I'm a 230 lb guy and wish it had a O-320. Had sooo much fun in it. Keep up the good videos. Al

      Thanks so much! It seems like that 320 is the sweet spot of power and reliability.

    Welcome back David, can't wait to see part two. Did I hear you mention that you're going install new fabric? Gene

      @davidschmaus1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you gene. I’m considering a recover. It’s been 41 years. I would do the wings this winter and the fuselage next.

    David, that was FABULOUS! You live a charmed aviation life. I am totally envious. Not sure I would have ever tried paramotoring, however. Bring on Part 2, please. 😀

    • @davidschmaus1
      @davidschmaus1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha. Thanks friend! As I get older I am trying new things. Although jumping out of a good airplane is not on the list. :)

      @@davidschmaus1 My wife and I watched your 200 mile paramotor flight videos. Not sure I would have done that even 30 years ago. Very interesting, however.
      I loaded an offline flight plan into Foreflight from Moraine to Monticello, including the RNAV (GPS) RWY 21 and LPV. It's very educational to listen to your actual approach in the air while I followed along in Foreflight. Love it! Thanks tremendously for doing these videos!

    I really like the old T/P. Highly recommended as a starter plane. I see that paragliding school on Signal Mountain between Dunlap and Chattanooga. I’ve also seen there’s a grass strip outside of Dunlap labeled “Rick Trimble”. I suppose you’d have to go there by car to ask permission to use his strip if need be.

    David, I am very happy to have found and subscribed to your channel. My son and I are both working toward our PPL he is planning to continue to commercial. I just purchased a 1961 Colt so watching your videos has really been getting me juiced to get ours back from annual and upgrades. If you ever feel the need to fly into khnb let me know. Would be great to meet you some time.

    Nice video David. I always fly my tripacer at 2350rpm when I'm one up and get the same fuel usage as you do. With 4 up I find 2400rpm to be a good compromise. Above 2500rpm all you gain is a bit of speed however I find it doesn't warrant the big change that it causes in fuel usage.

    • @davidschmaus1
      @davidschmaus1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Vincent. Totally agree with you. I can get close to 7GPH at 2350. At 2500 it’s 9+ A little 5-10kt tail wind sure makes it easier!
