    I love your chicken run! It looks more like a chicken resort/sanctuary. Thank you for this video. I've been wanting to find ways to catch bugs to dry and save for winter and this trap seams to work beautifully.

      Yes, they’re obsessed with food, especially bugs that’s all they think about…

    I like this. I could buy the mesh and make a few of them myself and place all around my property. Lovely.

    Yay! Chicken update! Good info on the Fly traps too! Ran across an ad a week ago & was curious if they worked!

    All right awesome that's what I was thinking shaking him out and feed them to the chickens just got to make sure you don't use any kind of poison in the bait cup gotcha think I'll be using raw meat in the cup that will draw in a lot of flies making it easy to turn this into a primary snack I was thinking if they did not die in The trap you could always take it and put it inside of a cooler with a ton of ice and freeze them especially during the summer that'd be a hell of an awesome snack for chickens

    What products do you put inside of the tramp? Like the dinner time for flys

      Either chicken poo, or a sardine and a little bit of water.

    I hung mine up 4 days ago and it's halfway full of flies, it's an excellent trap but how do you empty it??

    So did the chickens eat the flies?

    • @TwinCitiesAdventures
      @TwinCitiesAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Turns out that it’s pretty hard to pull them out of the little hole so if you want, you can cut it open and dump them out for the chickens to eat then I just ordered new ones because they’re pretty inexpensive.

      I’m considering ordering these fly traps.
      Perhaps adding a Velcro Door to get the flies out…. ?

    Have you tried to feed them to the chickens? Do they eat them if they're dead?

    Wow thats a ton of flies!! When ever my chickens have gotten out into any garden area they seem to destroy the plants by scratching around them. Do you have a vid with recommended plants for them that you’re using? Thanks

    • @TwinCitiesAdventures
      @TwinCitiesAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much plant anything that is edible for the chickens. If you watch her later, videos on her chicken playlist called Minnesota chickens you’ll see that we built a three season porch for them and then I put chicken wire around them so they don’t completely destroy them.

    That bait you used, was that the one linked in the description or is that your own? If your own what did you use?

    Howdy, great stuff, thank you. The link in the description is no longer valid after a year. Do you happen to have the name/brand of the trap handy? Thanks again!
    Edit for anyone coming behind me: They're called "Ranch Fly Traps"

    One year later..still worth the $$?? And what happens to the trap when it rains?

    • @TwinCitiesAdventures
      @TwinCitiesAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rain is good because it fills the basket with water and that keeps the bait wet and attracts more flies.

    Is it safe to feed your chickens flies? I thought they carried diseases?

    • @TwinCitiesAdventures
      @TwinCitiesAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s all they eat when they’re foraging around outside. They are obsessed with eating bugs.

    • @racheledwards6497

      You can put a little bit of chicken feed or just use water

    • @blackbway
      @blackbway ปีที่แล้ว

      Or a piece of meat. Sugar and water anything that flies are attracted to
