As a SC fan I’ve lost thousands of dollars in the last 10 years betting on my team to cover the spread. Look it up, they’ve been historically bad ATS. But I still haven’t learned my lesson so I’ll give the -6.5 and hope for the best. The better bet here is the under 47.5. I think this will be something like 21-14 (if I’m lucky :))
The question is can Lincoln Riley use what Texas has done to learn and apply that USC’s strengths I would believe so, they been consistently better at everything this year so I would say yes!

Fair where Miami is at right now. I think they are truly a top 3 team but for now, somewhere between 6-8 is where they should be until more season is behind us. They have not shown one weakness from all of the games I have watched. Contrast that with Georgia and Alabama who have an Achilles heel in certain position groups. If UGA looks like they did last night at any time down season, they will be out of the ranking.
It’s so stupid how easy of schedule the sec gave texas. They got Georgia at home and then the two rivalries where both team are rebuilding. And then they play the bottom 5 teams in the conference. If I was an ou fan I’d be pissed at the blatant favoritism.

Even last year when they beat OSU in the Cotton Bowl you acted like it was nothing. If it was any other school that did what they did, you be singing their praises, but because it’s Mizzou, you sit back quietly.

Georgia has the regular season record they have because they normaly dont play great teams until the SEC championship this year Kentucky and Clemson are normally the toughest teams

It's called getting live game reps in situations that might come up against tougher opponents. It has nothing to do with running up the score. I mean they played their 5th string quarterback at one point. They could have surpassed 100 points easily if that was their goal.

Put the top 4 where you want. 3 of them play each other and will settle it on the field. Georgia OL and DL got whipped last night plain and simple. I don’t mind the rankings but …. If any other team other then a sec team wins a game to an unranked beaten team by 1 point. It’s treated like a loss. If lsu had beaten usc… they would be a top 3 team. I think the sec is good. But I think there is to much bias in sec teams. If they barely win. All you hear is a good team knows how to guy it out and win. If it’s any other conference.. the team is not that good because they almost lost to a non ranked team. Look at Oregon? They went down in the polls and Georgia barely moves? I know your polls don’t have Missouri in the top 10 but how can old miss and Missouri be a top team? There has to be some love given to teams other then sec teams if not they will destroy college football… remember sec is only in the one area of the country. They have not played even a decent defense, nor have they faced an elite offense. You guys get your hopes up far to easily, only to come up short year after year. Ohio state for the first time will have more than 2 games with teams who are capable of winning. They never play a top 10 schedule. Miami is decent but shouldn't jump Tennessee. NC State would hands down beat Florida. G5 will Memphis or USF by season end. USF is fully capable of taking down Miami this Saturday. Good show.

I think you should change this format back up to what you think the playoff seedings would be. I think it's as interesting to see how those matchups change throughout the year as it is the think about who might even get in. I can infer some seeding based on this, but just show where you think these teams would stand if the playoffs started today. That said, I think I might be the only person this week not flipping Georgia down in favor of Texas. I want to be impressed by the Michigan win, but in my mind they weren't going to be a top 25 team this year. There was just too much turnover this year, and I think we'll find out more about Michigan soon enough and I'll reevaluate Texas' win at that point, but right now I think Georgia's demolishing of Clemson is still more impressive (ie if you put Clemson and Michigan on a true neutral field, I think Clemson would win). Also I don't know what it is about Kentucky's defense at home, but every two years they seem to give Georgia fits, and it doesn't seem to affect the rest of their season. So I have Georgia 1, and obviously nobody else from the SEC in the top 4.
Ohio State just hasn't had a chance to prove themselves, and I think defaulting them at 2 just makes sense until we know in either direction what they have. I'm still nervous about trusting Will Howard with such a talented team going forward, but it doesn't feel like they'll be challenged as much as I thought pre-season. I'm still skeptical of Oregon, although I think the Nebraska game might be a lot better. I don't see them struggling with Penn State, but rivalry week might still be fun (I'm a little doubtful though).
Miami at 3 (and JDs seeding implies this as well), feels right. It's the same things as the Buckeyes, you can't blame them for the schedule they have (turns out maybe the SEC would want Miami and not FSU?). They're doing more than what they're supposed to do (if you're breaking school records I'd say that's more than), and it doesn't really matter who it's against so much as what it's looking like. FPI has them as #1 offensive efficiency, #13 defensive efficiency, PFF has them as the #2 Offense and Defense based on performance metrics. Again it doesn't matter who it's against, this is a top 5 team in a ton of statistical categories that aren't just raw yards gained.
I don't know about Cam Rising's, but since he's not playing right now, I like Kansas State. They looked great against Arizona, and I don't think that Tulane game is as much of a dud as people thought. Oklahoma ended up beating them 34-19, but that game was 24-19 with about 10 minutes left in the 4th. The Sooner defense and an timely INT won them that game, but the Meanest of Greens were in it through 3 quarters at least.
The 5-11 slots are kind of a crap shoot, but I actually like USC over the SEC teams right now. I don't know how impressed I am with Ole Miss and Tennessee beating the crap out of Wake and NC State respectively. I'd sandwich Alabama in there. They, like Georgia with Kentucky, seem to just struggle with USF, but I'm reserving judgement on them because really we'll know in two weeks if they belong anyway. I also don't think both Penn State and Oregon are getting in. Both have looked equal parts decent and unimpressive although trending opposite ways, but I'd probably slot Oregon in over PSU right now. I think USC and Ohio State are gonna throttle the PSU I've seen through 2 weeks. For the last slot I think a second ACC or Big 12 team is probably more deserving than Penn State. Mizzou is out for sure (and what a joke it is that BC nearly pulls off the upset over the #6 team and see's an absolute trash heap of an A&M team leap frog into the top 25 over them, the disrespect is just unnerving). Honestly I know they're a bit of a joke right now, but the ACC probably has a better chance than the Big 12 to get a second team in. Louisville is the top team to watch in my opinion. They have Notre Dame, Miami, and Clemson as means of proving themselves, but Syracuse might be the team that pulls it off. They do have UNLV on the schedule, and I think the road matchup against BC (who just proved they could hang with what the AP is calling a top 10 team) is pretty tough, but the only glaring L on their schedule is the Miami matchup at the end of the year. It's silly that Syracuse isn't ranked yet (though not surprising seeing how dirty the AP and coaches did BC), but as shocked as I am to say this, Kyle McCord gives Syracuse a chance to win almost every game on their schedule this year. He'll be the best QB on the field in every matchup until he faces Cam Ward and the Hurricanes.
I also like UNLV in the final slot. Other teams have gotten close (Tulane), but UNLV is winning games against P4 opponents, and that's still impressive. I'd have them going up against USC in the Coliseum, so probably no real magic, but still impressive.
Don't care what the rakings say the only team I wouldn't bet against is Georgia.
