I just put a Penn Fierce 3 8000 size spinning reel on an Okuma Longitude 12ft heavy surf rod and with a 5oz no roll sinker and half a hand sized bluegill I can hit probably 60+ yards from the bank...I plan on tryin to learn the bait casters soon...I picked up a Ambassador 5500 from the sevierville flea market last year ..good luck and tight lines brother
Maybe cover some of the budget tackle options that you used to use? I'm salvating over those Hellcats but I just can't afford to replace all my Berkeley big games. Also maybe a little more on drifting/dragging setups, techniques. Bumping is also something I definitely want to try!
I have tried the bait caster reels with no luck always backlash on me. I only use open faced reel. Also fish Douglas and Cherokee lakes. Any tips would be appreciated.
More in-depth tackle videos? Let's hear some ideas!
I would really like for u to go into depth about that bumping rod

You should take a look at the Picsifun alijoz 300 low profile reel, it was 33 lbs of drag and it works great for any situations
Only bad thing is line cap and no clicker
@@redneckcatfishing yea that’s definitely true if I had a clicker that reel would be perfect
@@marcusscott7216 i personally spend a extra 30$ for the kastking kapstan

Academy will run at least 20% off all fishing equipment 2-3 times a year. The B'n'M silver cat elite rods are amazing. Can snag them for $50-$60.

Check out videos on how to adjust baitcasters so you do not get backlashes. Took me a while to learn
It takes awhile but it take a min to get used too
