I was proud of Shatner's comments after returning from his rocket man experience. He summed it up. Once you pass that blue line of earth, it's darkness. We have to treasure what we have!
Another fun Canadian actor was Leslie Neilsen if you ever saw any of the Naked Gun movies or Airplane. He was a hoot and always kept a straight face!

@@aussietashreacts he's got a tonne of really good work too, a lot of it blurs the line between storytelling and poetry and it gets me in the feels almost every time. "To This Day" "heaven or whatever" "Turn on a light" are all super if you want to feel some kind of way. To this Day went viral 6 or 7 years ago for it's anti bullying message.

Absolutely LOVED seeing these ads again! 🇨🇦 And loved your reactions to them! 🇨🇦 I was hoping the last clip would be included, especially since it says "I drink Labatt's, not Klingon Ale!" Labatt's is the biggest Canadian brand competitor to Molson's nationwide (or it was at that time). I believe Labatt's was a major sponsor of the "Just For Laughs/Juste Pour Rire" International Comedy Festival, held in Montreal each summer and where Shatner performed in that ICONIC rant! 🇨🇦
Thanks for a great laugh this morning! Epic reaction, and yes,
    🇨🇦 "I AM CANADIAN"! 🇨🇦

I said 'I AM CANADIAN' in Finnish to help get the fridge open. It was great as it got strangers working together and a lot of fun. It was a very clever marketing campaign.

We Canadians have lost so much🤣 The toxic, infantile, corrupt "I" culture flows over the border destroying what a beautiful "we" culture we had. Yes, I hang my flag every Canada Day. In Victoria we get a lot of American cruise ships tourists on Alaska cruises in the summer. When they happen to dock on Canada Day they're blown away by the patriotism they see. People with flag transfers on their cheeks. People wearing nothing but maple leaf clothing. Canadians are quietly patriotic until Canada Day (July 1) when all hell breaks loose. 😁

Molson Beer sponsored Canada's longest running TV show, "Hockey Night in Canada" for many years so for anyone who enjoyed watching hockey (like our family did) these commercials were ubiquitous. It's interesting that they showed the scene of the beginning of rail travel in Canada, and they did it without showing any of the Chinese men who worked, and frequently died building the line across this huge nation. They say that there was one dead Chinese man for every mile of track layed.
These men were treated atrociously, and it's time to thank them for their sacrifices to the betterment of this beautiful country.

Love these commercials--even though I'm not a drinker. I especially liked the ones featuring the fridge. There were several of these, including some where they were placed in cities in other countries and the only people who could open them were Canadians (I think they had to use their passport, if memory serves me correctly). They also, if I recall, had one where these guys take the fridge to some tropical island (maybe in the Pacific somewhere?) where there's this lone Canadian who was apparently pining for some Canadian beer. Great stuff.

I must admit that the commercial starting at 2:36 was a shockingly good reminder of what all good we have here in the country. And the next one, the multi-lingual one, was something I had never seen! The historical-footage one following was intriguing, as it showed historical achievements (building the cross-country railroads, creating universal welfare), but also showing ability to laugh at oneself (Phil Esposito tripping on a flower stack, and then bowing to the Russians watching)

The legal drinking age is 18 in four of our ten provinces (including here in Alberta). I remember living in Saskatchewan when they changed it from 18 to 19: one of my best friend's birthday was the day *AFTER* the day of the change. He was PISSED OFF! :)

The 2nd commercial is after the NHL came back after a full season labor dispute/lockout. Just imagine how the Australian public would react if AFL footie missed an entire season. I can't imagine it going well

The Molson Canadian beer fridge first appeared in 2013 when Molson and its ad agency Rethink built two fridges that could only be opened with a Canadian passport and left them in random locations in Europe - an ad campaign that played on Canada's international reputation as a nation of partiers. The campaign was so popular that the fridge became central to Molson's marketing efforts during the Olympics in Sochi and in subsequent Canada Day campaigns.❤ 🇨🇦

Id love to see you react to a video called "the perculular case of Canadian Gaelic" we're a very small community and there are very few people who still know how to speak gaelic left from the 3rd most spoken language in Canada in the 1800s to around 9,000 of us left in total today.
