Same here I was dating someone 10 years ago who told me he had herpes and I never got an outbreak. Maybe he did because that was a reasons why we wouldn’t have intimacy at certain points in our three-year relationship, but ever since I got diagnosed with hypothyroid, which taxes my immune system, I got diagnosed with herpes couple months ago. I didn’t know I had it until I started having bumps and I thought it was just razor bumps but during that time I was dating and dating somebody else after coming off that one dating experience they didn’t have any complaints or told me they got herpes so it wasn’t remission I guess? But then I started getting an outbreak because of my sleeping patterns of this new job I had gotten, it’s just so weird just recently got an hour break two weeks ago and now I’m experiencing it again but not as the first time if I look back I can just remember that relationship I was in 10 years ago. I guess it does go dormant but then it comes out when your immune system is really bad.
It can be dormant for 20+ years. Completely random.

Oh I also found out I have HPV and had stage 3 precancerous cells and had a leep procedure done didn't get it then had a 2nd. Leep procedure,that worked. But I'm not out of the woods yet. I'm 68 ,my husband of 48 years just passed away,I'm so devastated.💔😭

@dear, i have hsv 1 positive recently. So I have 2 questions. I have red itchy pimples coming on my back shoulder and chests. It look like red mosquito bite kinda pimple so does it mean that I am having hsv outbreak? And at this time my Hsv 1 IGM test would be positive ?
Also if our Hsv IGM test is negative at any time, does it mean we are not having our break or virus shredding and not contagious for our partner?
Hi, this does not sound like a typical herpes rash. he best thing would be, if you think it's herpes, to ask your doctor for a swab test.
Igm antibodies come and go, and shedding can only appear for a few hours up to a day, if you're asymptomatic, according to the studies, so before you get the results, the actual antibodies levels can change already.
How long do you go without outbreaks?? I was just diagnosed and just have few red dots on thigh but i feel real sick. If its just on my thighs does that mean it can spread other places? Thanks
It will stay in the same area, it will not appear elsewhere. You can go years without outbreaks, yet some people will get back to back outbreaks
I just got diagnosed with HSV-2 on Jan 27th. I was having problems down there and thought it was because I was shaving...went to my OB/Gyn and it came back positive
I had sex with 2 people(not knowingly) that I had and they don't have it. I have been on an emotional rollercoaster. I finally ended up going to my PCP and being put on a daily retroviral pill..400mg, as well as, Wellbutrin.
My Ob/Gyn was no help..
So..
1) I don't know who I got it from..
2) I want to be in a relationship soon, and I don't want to pass it on..does my partner have to wear a condom everytime?
Condoms do not protect against herpes, at least not 100%. If there's still physical contact with the area where you get outbreaks, the transmission can still happen. If the area, however, is covered by a condom entirely, then that's protected.

Is that why you can be intimate with your husband and he has not been infected??
I mean compared to having it in front??
It seems that would reduce the likelihood of transmission when being intimate having it there compared to infront?
It could be that Alexandra's husband just doesn't come in contact with that area, yes.

If you get cold sores, then you shouldn't be kissing them when you have an active outbreak. Otherwise, the chances are low that you will transmit.

Hi, please check with your doctor to understand what's going on. We cannot test you or diagnose you. Herpes itself is not a big deal.
I have a question that is on my mind a lot. I suffer from HSV2 If I li*k my bf pe**s and then we put on a condom and have sex, will we both suffer from HSV1 after that in our mouths even though I has not OB and that I drink the medicine daily so the question is Can we have oral sex with my bf without passed it to him? If I have sex with him, will I get oral herpes in my mouth because of the genital herpes I suffer down type 2 ? Please answer me I feel so sad
If you have genital herpes, you won't transmit it to your boyfriend by performing oral sex on him. He can end up with hsv2, if he's doing it, but it will still be HSV1.
If you're on antivirals, the chances of transmission are very low.
