I have a new challenge, the challenge to visit the sites of as many castles and fortified manors as possible along the Welsh/English border. Using the book 'Castles of the Marches' as inspiration.
This time the amazing Stokesay Castle in Shropshire.

I had no idea that we had anything that looked like that. I love the timber frame on top of the fortifications. Thanks for this.
it is a truly amazing place
What a fantastic site. Will definitely visit next time I'm in Shropshire.
Definitely a must see Paul
Great video Dom, definitely going to visit when I get chance! :)
You should!
Great castle Dom,looks like a beautiful place
It is!
Looks great. If you ever come to Poland you should visit post-teutonic order castle of Malbork. After repairs due to WW 2 (thanks to "liberation" by red army) whole castle looks great inside and tour around it takes like 5 to 6 hours (going with a guide). One fact from red army "liberation" - by "some" reason they shelled the big statue of the Saint Mary - and they used american shermans for that.
Poland and some of the teutonic sites is definitely on the cards sometime!
