While we may all have called who pilots this, we were off regarding the introduction and the gimmicks, since neither the initial CG promo material nor the official product photos have showed us everything about the kit. On the surface, it's a Demi unit with heavier armor and a gun and huge backpack, but look past the visual discrepancies, and you'll have something that rivals the Darilbalde in terms of fun.

That pose with Chuchu whacking gundvolva with the beam rifle is perfect.
That's what I've been wanting to do since the Gundvölva review, but I never expected two-handed wielding to be such an easy possibility. It does look good in the end though
All WfM high grades are really out of ballpark in terms of high grade quality. They really put together the construction tech from the entry grades, and the exterior details from real grades to create the WfM line of high grades. When we look back in 5-10 years, I hope this marks the unspoken beginning of the new era of high grades.
In terms of the structure and construction, the HG G-Witch kits are undeniably one of the best for the simplicity and resulting visual quality. However it's irrefutable that almost half of the kits were painted wrong from the factory, and while I need to tally up some previous ones, that is still a shocking number
the colors more towards chuchu's og colors is cause its likely to get a repaint and given to her. the backpack looks like it may be made from scraps of her own demi tray.
While I hope that's the case, I doubt it since even the manual's line art uses the brown of the line art we got now, and pulled a Klim Nick on us to fix a mistake from Chuchu's Demi Trainer at the expense of messing this one up because they may have colored it based on pilot association instead of design accuracy. The Baori Pack being made from scraps of Chuchu's Trainer is a decent theory though
Yeah and it also give bandai an excuse to release the standard-colored one as p-bandai just to torment any fan without painting skills like me.
From the gun use to the colors to the pilot, this gives off major ibo vibes

Yep, no need for 4 Zoworts when you now have a backpack to do the support fire thing for you, from all ranges might I add
I felt the brown looks better than the yellow color. I’m considering of getting it to change the yellow to brown as well as paint some of the places that the stickers will be.
The brown is definitely better IMO, but I'm a purist, so what can I say?
If you want the paints I used, I used Mr Color light brown, wood brown, and orange to achieve the mix
I’m noticing a trend with the G-Witch kits where several kits are molded in the wrong colors, with the Beguir-Beu, Guel’s Dilanza, and the Lfrith twins being the most egregious examples. The Demi Barding seems to follow in those kits footsteps.
Not to say they look bad out of the box, the bare plastic colors look good nine times out of ten and thankfully doesn’t destroy the color balance (I’m looking at you Strike Freedom, Legend, and Beguir-Beu).
However it’s still frustrating to know what we could’ve gotten out of the box knowing that Bandai has the correct color dyes on hand. That brown looks beautiful and better sells the design as a war machine when compared to the bare plastic’s dark yellow
While I still need to tally up the number of color-inaccurate kits in previous series excluding HGUC, the fact that over 40% of the entire HG G-Witch line is inaccurate is just frustrating to say the least. The Demi Barding raises two notable issues. Not only is it frustrating that it looks wrong, it also got the color for a previous model kit, Chuchu's Demi, right, so it's worse that they had the ability to make them right, yet somehow decided to not do so.
I would convert that head sensor to a ZZ-style hi-mega cannon
Nah, I'd keep it as a massive hexagonal sensor, like the Cherudim SAGA has one
It definitely looks a lot sharper with the anime-accurate sand brown. If do get this, I'll have to remember to pick up some corresponding paint.

Also, my heart skipped a beat there at the end of the last episode. When Chuchu was helping with rescue efforts, i thought she uncovered Secelia & Rouji's bodies.
Like imagine the devestation; fellow students loan Chuchu their new model MS to protect everyone at school, but when she comebacks, she finds out they couldn't save the ones who loaned her the suit in the 1st place. Talk about tragic.
And then i noticed neither of the bodies had Secelia's white leggings. Sad that innocent kids still died, but i hope Secelia & Rouji are still alive.
It's not exactly customization, but more-so making the kit look like what's shown in the line art (aka what it should've looked like from the box), but I'm glad people seem to appreciate the efforts.
As for the story, now that the Earth House is in the Burion House's debt, I'm interested to see where they'll go afterwards.
I just made a fascinating discovery. The Demi Barding's backpack is actually compatible with the old no grade 1/144 scale Turn X kit.
The peg being exactly large enough to accommodate that is a surprise
@@mj2005gundam A happy accident. I doubt it was intentional on the part of the kit's designers. But, hey, I won't look a gift horse in the mouth.
Baori Pack makes me thought of a wired RB-79 Ball Incom mode. 😁 Both suit and backpack looks abit C3PO and R2D2 in their colors. heheh

There was this thing called the Drone Wars that was only mentioned in the Beguir-Beu's manual, so I won't be surprised if they adopted drones of some kind to more state-of-the-art units. They never touched on the war again as far as I know.
Can the Demi Barding use parts from the Demi Trainer weapons option kit and its two previous Demi kit?
Since they share the same frame and connections, they will work mechanically. Visually on the other hand... It depends on who you're asking

chuchu's demi trainer already looked like a scopedog from Votoms, but this now even has the wheels on the feet
All Demis have roller skates on their feet, the Barding just has even larger ones with presumably more horsepower. I get the Scopedog reference though, everyone has been saying they look similar ever since the Demis were unveiled
hands down, WfM has become one of my top 5 Gundam series for designs and gimmicks!
By all means, G-Witch has some unique gimmicks, though there's also those of similar caliber in other stuff like Build Fighters, like a Wing Gundam custom build that transforms into a motorcycle

Old habits die hard, and Chuchu makes anything she can find into melee weapons, including her own rifle

Can't really say much about that, especially when I'm not that up to date with actors and actresses
My main gripe is the color accuracy. The stickers don't look too bad, but I don't get why bandai is printing many of the gwitch kits in the absolutely wrong color!
Most likely we're gonna see chuchu modify it and repaint it in her colors
@SilverRewind well, that would be nice, since the colors of the kit actually look kinda nice, but I would really like the kit's main colors to be correct.

@SilverRewind god forbid the correct colors to be p-bandai. That would be the scummiest thing Bandai has done to date if that's the case.
I've kept tabs, this is 10 out of 24 kits from the G-Witch line I had to fix. Honestly, doing some mental gymnastics could justify some of the earlier ones, but it's getting rather tiresome for 40%+ of the kits to be Astray No-Name levels of inaccurate colors, never mind that a lot of them were fine as CG renders, the Barding being no exception

A guy I know says the Barding is a more enjoyable build than the Demi Trainer.
I have the Demi Trainer but I don't have the Barding so idk if what he said is true or just plain preference.
Some might consider the Demi Trainer to be plain white rice. Given that the Barding actually has quirky looks, gimmick, a Build Fighters-esque backpack, and ball-jointed ankles, it's no surprise that he found it more enjoyable than the raw base.
So this is like kit number 3 with color inaccuracies to the show. I didn’t mind originally cuz they looked great all the same but it’s really got me wondering why in the world they keep doing it?
It's kit number 10, I've kept tabs. You can BS their way out of it with "wanting to represent a lighting" and all that stuff, but the Lfrith duo and Heindree Sturm literally have no reason to be inaccurate, and I'm getting tired of it.

Is the Baori back under universal hard points?
Yes, it is using the universal double peg backpack, but the Barding has a third hole to receive the wire adapter for when it's sent out

Based on a mixer tool I used, it's a teak made up with 40% parts white, 30% black, 20% yellow, and 10% red.
Meanwhile, I mixed mine with Mr Color light brown, wood brown, and orange, with a dab of gray to darken the tone a little
Now this is a suit worthy of pompom head.
Holup, why's it green? Isn't it supposed to be light-brown?
They probably thought they should fix the color inaccuracy of the HG Chuchu's Demi Trainer right here, and selected the color by association to the pilot instead of the line art.

When they made everything for school instead of war, they tend to get way too tame. This however, is rough and ready for a fight

@@mattialonghin_mr.l857 You can add a layer of matte top coat or superglue to the ball joints. Don't stick them though, you just need to thicken up the ball joints

It's not the end of the world since I paint but it's really disappointing to see how off the color is, did they just have too much of the chu chu demi trainer colored plastic lying around?
I had to refute, since if we all recall, the HG Chuchu's Demi Trainer uses a pastel version of what the yellow should've been instead of, well, what the Barding used. I think it's more likely a Klim Nick situation where the color was selected by association of the pilot instead of the base design

It's shipping in July, and I'm not sure when precisely, or if I'll even have my recording and editing setups by then. I will HAVE the kit, but maybe a review as soon as it comes out might not be possible or limited in quality. We still need to see what happens by then
