Thank you Andrea for this short simple recipe instead of dragging it on into a 10 min video. We make it the same way in our home too..checked this one out since im making fish curry after quite a while.
Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. I tried this today and everyone enjoyed it so much. It turned out to be absolutely delicious. Best wishes to you!

Hi Andrea Thnk you so much for ur delicious & easy to follow dishes I seen ur Surmai curry which I'll try but I was looking out for Surmai fry I didn't get it receipe U didn't load it on you tube
@@andreamdsouzaskitchen hello I'm in goa panjim now in 2 day i leave for my home after lockdown can you told me goan masala any because my dad loves eating nonvage and fish i don't like i like to buy for him please reply where and which goan fish masala i buy for nonvage
My family went crazy when i made this...i am a doctor who started cooking out of necessity during covid..but now i regularly cook more of mutton & chicken but some fish dishes too....and this dish was a big hit..thanks Andrea for this authentic curry
I'll try this recipe n if it comes out delicious then I'll prefer all my friends ,family , relatives to do curry like this only.....thnk u it's looks amazing. And haa if I find it great then I'll follow this recipe for my lifetime.bcz I m too a Goan....#goan food taste is like heaven.
Andrea M Dsouza..i must say you have awesome recipes. I tried today May 6th, 2020 yout Goan Fish Curry...I was extremely happy it came out well and had the same colour as your dish and I was well appreciated by my loving partner...thanks a ton.
The main reason i am going to try out this recipe is that the use of oil was so minimal. Am surely going to try it out as it looks delicious too. Thanks
same here! Actually I got to know that authentic goan fish curry doesn't even use oil for the coconut releases oil to give the curry the necessary gloss
@@sabitabarik5159 most mangalore fish curry also have no oil at all . Fish is dumped into the boiling gravy directly . There is no seasoning at all . Chilli , ginger etc are added slices directly to the gravy without use oil .
Thnk you so much for the fried fish receipe I'll try tomorow I like all ur dishes & I hve tried it lot of dishes such as chicken curry last Sunday bfre that pork curry & pork chilly fry My family liked all ur recipes Tomorow I'll do Surmai curry & fry fish Thnks a lot for it delicious dishes and whn preparing thm u write in subtiles it becomes very easy God bless u Pls gve chicken Xacuti receipe Bye tc luv u 😘
Annie I'm so glad you and your family enjoys the recipes.... I'll surely make the masala in a few weeks and post it.... Thank you for your kind words of appreciation 😊😊
Tried this recipe today with rawas fish. It came out fantastic. I added some coconut milk and a few curry leaves in the end. It was superb. We all licked our plates clean. Thank you for this recipe!
Quite authentic. & Tasty. Do we need to saute onions in OIL?...Can't we just grind both onions & chillies too along with other ingredients? That is better...
I tried. It turned out well. Thanks for that. But feels like some secret spices or ingredient missing to give Gomantak restaurant like taste like you get in Goa. The taste like sounf or star anise but I can't figure out. Can you guss?
Just a doubt. Do you need so much tamarind? One with the paste and again the black pieces? Are they the kodam puli, a kind of tamarind used in Kerala coking or some other Goan product?
yes we do - they are two different flavours... it is different from that u get in Kerala - the black pieces are solam or kokum which is used mostly in the Konkan belt
•Marinate cleaned fish with salt • gravy_ 1/2 grated coconut 12-13 red kashmiri chillies 5-6 garlic, 1/2inch ginger 1tsp Jire 2-3pepper 1 tbsp dhane 1/2tsp Haldi 1_2Tamarind pulp 1/2cup water_ to grind everything together •1sml onion Pinch salt 2-3green chillies stir medium flame, once golden, add paste stir till leaves oil, Add 2mugs water and 4-5kokum • Put fish gently in gravy, let it simmer (till fish cooks i.e 5-7min)
Because of the texture of the curry.... Goan fish curry is preferred with either coconut milk or coconut ground very fine.... Scraping or grating ensures that we get the gravy we like.... Grinding cut pieces of coconut will not give a good texture
Thank you Andrea for this short simple recipe instead of dragging it on into a 10 min video.

Plz mentioned, which fish ur using??
Surmai - King Fish - it is already mentioned in the title of the video
Just out of curiosity, if we have to grind the coconut then why garte it 1st. Why can't we just grind the pieces of the same

which oil u used for this curry?
