I agree,New York was a brilliant masterpiece&I miss him so much I sat down&,howled my eyes out when I heard about his death, anyone else remember hearing about this??!!RIP MR LOU REED
Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson ... that was love. Great as I consider the man as an artist I've got to believe that he might not always have been the easiest man for a woman to stick with. I believe it was Laurie's love that helped Lou greatly in the later period of his work.
Agreed. Reed is, and has been, an amazing musician with a huge influence on the rock scene. This is a great performance. Could listen to it all day - think I will.
great service to mankind posting this buddy. I think the crowd there did not quite get it until the end. i love this song and seeing this version genuinely blew me away. Many thanks.
in the hands of a great poet the rock song has the ability to evoke an entire life, an entire world. after that intro you can just feel what it was like for him ... her voice was like a bell ...
This is my favorite Lou Reed Video... he is working his ass off to stay up with Tony who keeps increasing the beat... The last minute and 1/2 is the hardest I have ever seen Lou play... and I love it
This is one of the best Lou video's and songs out there.. the boy worked his ass off especially at the end of the song.. love the interaction between Lou and the band... hopping with the bass, and tearing it up with the other at the end
I challenge ANYONE to listen to this and not be tapping their foot inside of the first 15-20 seconds!!!!!! This song is so good it makes me well-up every time, studio or live. You Rock On up there baby. We'll keep the flame alive down here.
just love it , i was playing this song over and over on my vinyl (last one i bought of Lou before the c.d. came along and the next was a c.d. on my regrets) Lou !!!!! miss YOU .
This song is not included in Rolling Stones best 500 songs (or is it?) but to me is no. 1!! Raw vitality, all rough edges and that's what rock is about!
Bloody Brilliant! Good Old Times, when Musician's had plenty of work, as well as a chance to be creative with past concepts. Romeo is a very old theme.
I really like the last few notes added to the end of the riff. It is slightly different than the album and sounds a lot better. I have this show on boot, it's fantastic.
@vsister i saw this tour/line-up at the Queen-E back in 2000...Lou opened with this song!! and when no one got up to dance--he said: we were told that this was a fancy pants place--but that doesn't mean u can't dance!! and everyone stormed the stage at that point and danced to his R&R music :D

My favorite song by Lou. When I met him, I said "I feel like I'm meeting Beethoven." He laughed and said, "Ah, it's just five little shitty chords."
Haha that's something only Lou would say!! RIP 🙏
Yeah he had his own classic cool style&they don't make music classics as this anymore!!RIP LOU REED.
I just dig this so much, one of my favourites of his of all time!!RIP MR LOU REED.

In Lou Reed's own words: "You can't beat two guitars, bass and drums" ;)
Every few months, I've got to listen to this version. It is so dynamic.
The last couple of minutes of this are intense. Just incredible. Love it.
Do I hear power chords?
fuck yeah. rock and roll doesn't get any better than sweet Lou and this song,.
at least you get it
Passthrufire, I like your name. Thank you for this upload. I’ve been enjoying it for years! I just love Lou Reed.
in the hands of a great poet the rock song has the ability to evoke an entire life, an entire world. after that intro you can just feel what it was like for him ... her voice was like a bell ...
You know its good when Lou is cracking a smile at the rest of the band.
This is my favorite Lou Reed Video... he is working his ass off to stay up with Tony who keeps increasing the beat... The last minute and 1/2 is the hardest I have ever seen Lou play... and I love it

Lou Reed, rock n roll poet. See you later. Requiescat in pace. Thank you.
Du rock à l'état pur, comme Lou Reed sait le faire, avec juste l'énergie et le son qu'il faut
I challenge ANYONE to listen to this and not be tapping their foot inside of the first 15-20 seconds!!!!!! This song is so good it makes me well-up every time, studio or live.

Loved it when Lou picked up the guitar again after many years. These songs from what I call his Blue Mask Period I find to be his best work.
Rest in peace man.....thanks for the memories
This song is not included in Rolling Stones best 500 songs (or is it?) but to me is no. 1!! Raw vitality, all rough edges and that's what rock is about!

They were stunned, it was a holy sacred moment.

Whitefolks like that

I really like the last few notes added to the end of the riff. It is slightly different than the album and sounds a lot better. I have this show on boot, it's fantastic.

nice guitar solo lou...great hair too
hit it lou. awesome. thanks for posting.
Fuck I love this guy, They play this version fast as hell but his solo is calm and collected but fits in flawlessly. it doesn't get much better.
Maybe... but the band (and Lou's guitar playing) is really raw, rocking and lively :)

Pero qué bien sienta oir esta canción!!
People say bullshit. He's a true poet. Not a ridiculous machine.
Great band
Fantastico lou❤🎉😊
Every time he played this live...every time...he rushed it. Until he was breathless. And now he's gone and he'll never get it right.
I'm just sure Lou loved it when the band started the song double fast.
Lou himself has accelerated.
Go Lou, the crap that passes for talent now makes you cry. 😎👍
AWESOME PERFOMANCE!!! Lou Reed Rules!!! Thanx 4 this version. I liked faster. THANX LOU!!!
Lou's casual rock n roll was better than most of us have heard----think about it
He was on top of his game, and looking healthy! RIP :(
IF THERE IS A THING AS A MUSE OF INSPIOERRATION LOU IS THAT AND JUST ORIGANAL ONE OF A KIND INSPERRATION GIFT TO ALL MAN KIND HOW VISIOUSLY DEPRIVED WE WOULD BE WITH OUT !
