Whos ready for an 18 day video of Brian building a kit plane? I’d probably watch it lol
I might just make one :)
Yes and Yes !
LOL - 18 days - you must think I'll be working FAST - LOL LOL LOL
😂
@BrianPhillipsRC so are you planning on a 30 day video?
4:20..What are you talking about "Find someone to let you fly theirs" !? Build your own! That's the true spirit of the hobby, have you forgotten that in our new RTF world, where we can buy n crash these things like candy? lol Get out there and buy a kit, even if it's a little Guillows job, just to get a taste. Your friend there will tell you all about it., and it sounds like you appreciate it as well. Happy flying! Beautiful job on that plane by the way.
Thanks, and I wish I had time for that type of project, but at this stage of my life, it's not in the cards for me. When the kids are grown and out of the house, we will surely have more time for such type of activities.
Thanks Mike for bringing your toys for Brian to play with ! It's fun to see Brian with a big happy smile on his face ! Thanks for the joy of RC ! Fun stuff !
Agreed - Thanks Mike!!!
Just so good old PLANE old Fun ! 😁
You got me overexcited there when I saw this plane before I even played the video, but when I did; what a bummer; it's not a new release kit'
Gee; thanks! I was hoping for a bnf man!
I'm sorry, and agree, we were concerned we MIGHT cause this type of reaction. We try our best NOT to clickbait, since we don't see that as a good way to build a long term audience. Please forgive us for any potential misunderstanding.
Thanks Mike, Brian and Megan.
;)
i love Mike's pilots!!! Brian, if possible; you may wanna consider giving your guests a lav mic so we can here him/her. Brian this is kinda fun being able to see you fly and just enjoy this hobby!
I actually had one on but it was having a technical issue we didn’t discover until after this video. Hopefully it will be better for the next one.
yeah, we had that thought, and DID at one point, but we didn't on this flight, and not sure why...I think at Mike's direction???
Ohhhh yeah, now I remember!
Oh what a great video Brian and Camera Crew!!! ✌️💛
Glad you enjoyed it
Really enjoyed watching you guys fly balsa in a tough environment. Your wife did great camera work as always.
Thanks!
OPP and OPB's are the best.... Other People's Planes and Other People's Boats. Fly and sail 'em like you stole 'em. Always fun and sometimes heart pounding experience. Beautiful plane. Fun vid to watch. Thanks for switching things up. Keeps us coming back for more.
Cheers from Annapolis. ~~~ __) ~~~
P.S.
An email sent about an exciting new direction for the FW
Couldn't agree more! It's WAY more scary to fly another person's plane....I always fear crashing someone else's work, since I want to be the one who crashed my own planes - LOL ;)
We'll check the email, Thanks - pretty behind on those now ;)
Now you're talking! I don't own a foamy or electric. Sig makes among the best kits ever! I have this very plane with a .46. Got a big old Astrohog with a K&B .61 and a 1/4 scale J3 with an OS .91 four stroke. Don't worry about slowing that little sweetie down ... she has good manners.
Yea this is my second one of the bigger anniversary editions. My first one was 15 years ago with a os70fs on it and full wing. I have also had the 1/6th scale in bothe clipped and full wings with os 46fx on one and saito 56 on the other. I even had a couple 1/4 scale 108” one with a os120 twin and the other an enya 120fs. Sig makes some great kits, some of my favorites to build. I also loved Midwest kits.
Now we just need to get SIG to fill some orders for Horizon Hobby, and other Retailers, so we can buy them!!!!
@@MikeBrown-yp3ck Don't you love the 1.20? I have one and also a 1.60 in a 1/4 scale Spacewalker. I'm still having more fun than an old man deserves!
That was fun! I have been practicing my slips with that plane since this experience at your place. With that wind I am not sure it would have helped much but still a skill to have. I also have flaperons set up on it now which really help it slow down.
NICE! We need to get that new cub done soon, so we can fly it ;) :) :)
So awesome Mike I love the clipped wing cub....and Sigs 👌👍
Thanks for sharing is caring for our passion ❤ nice job camera crew 👏
He makes a nice plane!!! Now to fly them when it's not a hurricane! ;)
Freaking awesomeness, I hope more guys showing up with their beautifully built kit planes and you fly em like you stold it.😮
I know Mike will ;) He's already working on another project!!!

🤯
Flying faster than normal ? You always fly fast , i wish you would fly scale. Throttle not elevator to loose height. Love the channel and camera crew.
It was challenging to fly this plane, in this wind. Mike flew it and said - WOW that was harder than I thought. There's a lot less real-estate to slow down that you might realize, and to be honest, I don't want to get this plane too close to a stall on final, since it wasn't mine.
GREAT Job On Build Mike! She Flys SWEET! Thanks 👍👍😁😎
Thanks Grump!!!!
Building a SIG Kougar for my first ever kit right now. Just about done!
Gorgeous plane. Im a big fan of light weight though. The heavier they are, the faster they are and more runway needed to land
100%
really enjoyed seeing the sig fly. My father built 7 sig cubs in variuos forms over the years.
They are so good! I want to build one, but I don't want to do Clipped-Wing...I like long wings ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC you buy it and I will build it for you to your specs, even add flaps and slats if you want. Definatly LEDs and reverse
You need to occasionally give some love to the smelly gasers. 🤣 Nice plane! 👍
I want to do this, but we kinda need to get the full scale strip ready first, I think.
Lmao at when he went over the hill on landing. Had a clipped wing Cub once. Was a pretty slippery plane.
;)
Gorgeous build!!🎉
That thing is sick!
It sure is!
My old Sig 1/6 scale J-3 Cub, full-wing, flies similarly on two 3S 2200 packs in parallel. I need plenty of room to land. Trim slightly nose down, reduce power gradually , let model settle down to runway, land on mains and steer with rudder until tail wheel is on ground, raise elevators and steer with rudder/tail wheel reduce throttle to a stop/taxi back. Takeoffs require full scale Cub tail-dragger techniques, right rudder, up elevator, release elevator, steer with rudder, increase throttle gradually and let it lift off when it's ready. I try to avoid flying my Cub in gusty wind/cross winds. Flying Cubs scale-like is fun, takes practice.
This one needed the speed to penetrate the turbulence from the wind. Since Mike had driven half a day, I wasn't about to send him home without some flying ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Model is heavily wing loaded, needs more runway. You did great landing !!
Fun to watch
Cheers
Thanks!
Beautiful plane build! And really nice flying. Love the Sig kits, unfortunately it looks like they may be going out of business??? They are offering hardly anything on their site these days. I was hoping to get their 1/4 Clipped Wing, but it and the 1/5 are no longer available (for now). Anyway, nice video!
Mike does GREAT WORK!!!! What a beautiful plane, and Mike is a skilled builder!
As for Sig going out of business...no, they're not...but they're moving to IL - (WHY??!?!?! If they're so strapped, why are they moving to the regulation capitol of the world??!?!?!) We've mentioned this a couple times, in passing, but most probably don't see it.
P.S. Sig is about 45min - 1hr drive from our house...and they've never so much as once returned a single email. Pretty disappointing.
Ya, I have emailed them as well with no reply. I thought about calling them to see if they perhaps have 1/4 clipper sitting around. I have seen the site where they say they are moving and reopening but it’s been some time. Too bad, hope they keep it going.
That plane could really use reverse!
yes, this would help on our relatively short strip
Planes with a soul👌
BEAUTIFUL airplane.
Niiice 👍
Yes indeed! Mike does a great job!!!
I'm pretty sure you you were just terrorizing that guy. Seen you land way hotter planes in that spot with more wind
What happened to your power lines out front of the house by the road? You petition to have them relocated 😂
I paid to have the utility company relocate them underground.
NIIIIICE 👌🏻
Thanks again!
Very good nice
thanks! Mike made a great plane here!
A thumbs up but man that was not a relaxing video to watch. I felt at about any moment I might witness a crash.
I was a kid in the 1950s (I'll turn 79 in August) and can remember spending weeks building and painting paper and stick rubberband powered models only to have them crash and get totally destroyed within a few flights. These days I stick to foam and foamboard (FT) models - thank you very much. 😊
Yea I get that, It really was not that windy maybe 10-15 gusts however his place is wrapped on 3 sides with trees so there is so much turbulence trying to get down to that runway. You really have to carry the speed to have the control authority to overcome the turbulence but then you cant get stopped. Had it been calm It would have been easy to slow it down and come across the road and up the driveway nice and low and grease her on but coming thru those trees slow would be a death nail.
10000000%, well said, Mike ;) I'm so glad you got to experience the wind tunnel!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Brian, maybe it's time to buy more property and build a new runway? 😊
Hey Brian I just got the Eflight su30 and binded it up and it’s only doing reverse thrust would you know how to fix that?
"you get a dirty tip every once in a while" wink wink , you dog
What happened to the powerlines?
We paid to have them buried.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Nice, I figured, though I was always impressed seeing you navigate around them. just noticed them being gone in this last video.
Jesus Christ died for our sins. God raised him from the dead. Repent and believe the Gospel. Jesus loves you..God bless in Jesus name
Amen!
you got some gas planes?
I have two in the basement, and would like to fly them, but kinda need to get a few things in order first, since they're generally larger, and a BIT more dangerous...I realize they're not THAT much more dangerous, but you know what I mean. We fly close to stuff, and with GAS planes, they are definitely caring around more weight... you know how I like to crash into my own house - LOL LOL LOL
What’s up! So someone is claiming to to be you and sent me a message saying I won a free plane, but they just need my info. Lol.
I caught the fraud immediately and told them to go …. Themselves.
Just wanted to let you know!
Oh no! On this video? We haven't had a scammer for a while, so we must be due. :(
Cut the trees that are in the way
We LOVE trees
