I love the bio book suggestion. I usually start a memoir or bio when in a reading slump, or a shorter book.

😂 I love the new word segment! Definitely never heard that word before

No matter what, i always incorporate my physical book reading with listening to an audiobook (i listen a lot from Aneko Press audiobooks here in YT ❤) so somehow even if i am not reading a book from my shelf, learning still goes on, and i am still on the track of finishing books 😅. And yeah, when reading slump is on my way, i also find taking a break of reading from non-fiction to fiction very helpful. Fictional books literally can transport you to a whole new world that can be very exciting as well. And there you'll experience the need to just continue reading so that you'll know the ending of the story. 😊

Thank you, brother, for this video. It popped into my feed today and I am happy to subscribe to watch more of your content.
Here are a few of my own suggestions:
    1. Antinet Zettelkasten. Taking notes on my reading with a 4x6 index card has been life changing. Learned this from Scott Scheper.
    2. Reading ADD. During Covid, my wife and I watched movies daily using a technique we invented. We watched in alphabetical order. We watch Movie 1 for as long as we wanted. We would then watch Movie 2 from the beginning for as long as we wanted. Next we return to Movie 1 for as long as we wanted, returned to Movie 2, then started Movie 3. Using this pattern we would finish boring movies and exciting movies at whatever pace we wanted.
So, I started doing this with the pile of books on my nightstand. It works wonderfully. Especially for things that take some time to get into.
Hope this helps someone with stuff the want to read but are having trouble slogging thru.

Currently reading “Gentle and Lowly” by Dane Ortlund after reading a 400 pg book. Wonderful book that not only focuses on a different subject than deep theology but also very short chapters 7-10 pgs each!

Gentle & Lowly still covers some deep themes despite being very readable!
