BEAUTIFUL! It is absolutely amazing that this berm is not even a year old! Seeing the growth & with information you provide gives me ideas & do’s & don’ts for my space. I admire your hard work as I know what high humidity & DEWPOINTS (zone 8b S-MS 😓) feel like even on cloudy days ! Bless You & Thanks!

Jenny thank you for sharing your gardens with us I have learned so much watching all your videos. Would love to be your assistant and gofer. Alas I’m 80 but I know how to work Fortunately I’m still mowing and gardening mostly on my own. Developing 2 acre of hillside with a new home. About five years now. Red clay. Just wanted to say you’ve helped me immensely in choosing plants etc. from Fly Ohio Along Ohio. River!

Jenny, I love you so much! I enjoy your authenticity and cute phrases, such as "on the struggle bus." I can so relate with many of my newly planted perennials not on irrigation.
I do feel part of your flower family. Same with all my friends I follow on TH-cam.
Yesterday, I went to get some more Land & Sea at my garden center when I ran into the DIL (and her mom) from another TH-camr, Harmony Hills. I'd JUST watched that Jenny's latest video from their trip to Minnesota where she showed us the blank slate of a garden of her son's and daughter-in-law's new home. I'll be honest, I had to check my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. Beth and Judy and I talked as if we were old friends. We bonded over hydrangeas, of course. 😊
I am so impressed by the growth of your berm project. I, too, can't wait for that third year. What an explosion of color that will be.
Good to know Japanese beetles like plum trees. I was considering getting a KF cherry plum tree if I couldn't find a 'Jane' magnolia (found her sister, 'Ann') for my front yard project. It's bad enough they like my DA roses, I don't want to encourage them to my yard with more food.

The property development at Gardening with Creekside and Garden Answer over the last few years has been instructive and entertaining. We watch both almost every day and have incorporated several of y’all’s ideas, suggestions, and plants into our gardens. Living in east TN, we always check with you before introducing a new (new to us) plant(s) into our landscaping. Thank you and keep posting. - How about a chicken and chicken coop update?

Jenny, The berm looks wonderful! It is filling in so well!
On the subject of vines for the fence - Native Passionfruit (Passiflora incarnata) has a few cultivars and is a deciduous vine that blooms from spring - fall and has a wonderful floral smell.I have "Incense" as well as our local vine (wild). Its a host plant for several butterfly species, bees love it, as do hummingbirds, and the flowers are extremely intricate; plus - it doesn't seem to be plagued by any diseases here, though it is susceptible to a few.
It is a VERY vigorous vine that can grow 30feet in a season but has tendrils that will naturally reach and grab on to a structure. It might be an option if you like that type of thing.
I have 4 species of passiflora down here in the deep south. Incarnata is hardy to zone 5 I believe. As a plus, the fruit can be eaten or added to summer tea and is tangy and has a unique flavor. You need at least 2 varieties to produce fruit usually. :)

The berm is looking so beautiful! I couldn't believe it when you said there had not been any irrigation for it all of this time!! Now that it has the water, I can't even imagine what it will look like in the next 2 years. I can relate to wanting to see it in it's 3rd year. I had planted some landscape roses and they looked so little for 2 years and the 3rd year they exploded to being 4' tall and wide, with continued blooming all season long. I do prune the dead clusters and I think that helps. I am also watering them each day (irrigation) for 30 min with line openings every 6". It's supposed to give off 1/2 gallon of water per hour and they seem to be doing fine. How long and often does your irrigation run? You clearly have great success and I would like to make sure I get the same result. We are in Chicago, with very heavy clay soil. I have been adding compost every year to amend the soil, but it still is heavy clay. Since you too have the heavy clay, I thought I would ask. Thanks so much for showing us how the berm is doing. It is so pretty! Take Good Care.

Wait until your Eucomis blooms!! I had one in my garden that I picked up on clearance one fall. I really couldn’t find any growing info on it or even what it’s bloom was supposed to be like, but after I saw it I had to find more! Wouldn’t you know, that fall two more ended up in the clearance section! Best $9 ever spent! I now have a lovely trio and they are wonderful! Zone 5/6 in Ohio, heavy clay, and full sun. Even did well being transplanted!

Looks beautiful! I have to admit I love the entrance side of the berm more. Which surprised me! I thought I’d love the mass planted side towards the house. Even though the color is beautiful of course. There is just something about the structure on the house side that just doesn’t do it for me. I’m amazed at the lavish look of color and growth truly is satisfying. It has just been so satisfying watching the progress on both sides of the fence. I have been especially curious to see how both sides will look I have an area that in the fall I will finally get to pay some attention to. Therefore, I wanted to see how the structure side did as opposed to the entrance side for ideas. So watching how this has taken shape has definitely given me ideas and clarified what I want to do!!! My strip is narrower but over two hundred feet long and has a tree line behind it. So I think the look on the entrance side of your berm is the look for my area. At the end of the day Jenny, the berm has really turned out to be something very spectacular and will just continue to impress for years to come. Thank you for sharing ❤

It was my good fortune that i drive here from Kernersville for the weekend for a visit with a fellow gardener. After you said during your video a couple days ago that there was a Signature Garden in Pinehurst i knew we would have to check it out. Well it is spectacular! For all the years i lived in this village i never saw the plantings looking so impressive. The timing of your video on Signature Gardens was a perfect coincidence with my trip. Beautiful. Love the variety and how it all ties together including keeping in mind the change of season. I am also NC zone 7b. This year I have had enormous trouble with Sow Bugs. They love my Agastache Poquito and I've lost 3 of the 7 I planted. Nothing I've tried has worked, including diluted spayed castor oil, neem oil, etc. I wanted to plant more next spring but now I'm wondering if I'll be wasting my money. I was wondering if you have also been battling these little nasties. I've heard this has been a bad year for these critters.

Question on irrigation layout used as I will be setting up a similar bed (much smaller scale tho 😊) …Is your irrigation set up using 1/4 inch with drip along the line for the mass plantings weaving around the plants? Were individual emitters used for trees?

One question about the Butterfly Bush I am considering it but found several articles about this plant that it was envasive and warnings about planting it. do you know anything about this claim? is the PW variety a better cultivar?
