Crows supporter here, I will admit Geelong was the better team last night. Crows couldn’t kick properly. But the umpires were horrible, if you saw the game a Adelaide Oval you may of thought so too.

Elliot Miller they’re definitely looking good but it’s too early to put them as genuine contenders. Lots can happen throughout the season (coming from a Geelong supporter)

If a player catches/marks the ball and is awarded the mark, the direct opponent must be aware that it is a mark and must obey the marking point adjudicated by the umpire, and must not overstep or infringe. Meaning, tackle unnecessarily or prevent the player from taking his kick or disposing of it until player has played on according to the umpire. If it is not play on, the player on the marking point, must not infringe whatsoever in a nutshell. If it is play on, the player can attempt to confront the player with the ball. The only way the player on the marking point can intercept, is if the player taking the kick or handball, gets too close and allows a turnover without the opponent having to overstep the marking point. These 50m penalties were given as the Adelaide players were careless with their awareness and assumed that it was still play on when it wasn't. Just have to be aware for the whistle and call from the umpire.
At 0:55 Tex Walker takes a few steps over the mark (the spot where Taylor caught it), which is 50. At 1:09 Gibbs tackles Menegola after he's taken the mark, which is 50. And you see Sloane do the same (tackle after the mark) to Stanley at 1:23.

Nah I don't mind Geelong but in my opinion there OK to me most crows v cats games mostly is a good game but some games we either get smashed or u get smashed So yeaaaaaa go Crows
Brian Hastwell nah i dis-agree the final score was 14.15 cats to 10.15 crows so cats had many more scoring shots and I thought that Geelong should have won by more considering they beat Melbourne by 80 pts
Jesse Grover Walker threw the ball and we didn't even get a free kick and the 50m penalties were correct because they literally tackled us to the ground when we marked it
