    I know Specs struggles to put an argument together but I think I would actually agree with him. I think the expectation for Chelsea was that they would recover from last season and be a top team again this season. That hasn’t happened. Don’t think anyone (apart from Lewis) expected Newcastle to stay top 4 and have now been bought down to their actual standard. From a Wolves fan btw

    • @joshu1179
      @joshu1179 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I feel like a lot of the context he applied for Newcastle, you can literally apply for Chelsea. He’s on about Newcastles injuries but there literally hasn’t been a more injury ridden squad than Chelsea this season. Chelsea’s entire back line and most of their good forwards have been injured at many points of the season, so much so that a lot of players have been playing out of position at times. Chelsea have not performed well this season at all and they were expected to be there or there abouts in regards to top 4. But with an injury ridden squad it can’t be easy and with a complete set of new players, as well as being in the final of a cup competition. I think Poch has been better the Howe this season.

    • @BikYsl
      @BikYsl 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To any logical person that wouldn't be the expectation for chelsea. Lewis's arguement of "chelsea spent a billion so the expectation is them too be good" is riduculous, it's impossible to stay at the top level at the prem after completely resetting your team and having too work with 30 new players with no chemistry, this hasn't been seen in football but anyone who follows any other sports knows teams like this don't work and definetly not immediately regardless of how good the players are. Combining that with how poor chelsea was last season after tuchel was sacked it'd probably be expected that chelsea should be doing worse then they currently are hence imo potchettino and chelsea are exceeding expectations this season.

    • @joshu1179
      @joshu1179 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@BikYsl I wouldn’t go as far to say chelsea are exceeding expectations however chelsea are not doing as bad as a lot of casual people are making them out to be doing. Chelsea with the squad they have are underperforming. Yes it’s a completely new squad but with the talent in said squad and with the way they’ve performed in some games, chelsea should be a lot better. But they are definitely not hopeless and there are serious signs of growth.

    • @LiamsFriendStewie
      @LiamsFriendStewie 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That was not the expectation. Objectively you’re wrong. If YOU expected Chelsea to be top again that’s fine, it’s quite clearly a project. You can’t just throw kids together and expect a challenge vs a long settled City & co. I’m surprised I have to explain this to you.

    • @Kraayy
      @Kraayy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As a chelsea fan, we never expected to finish top 4. This is a new era with a new project and I, and every other chelsea fan I know, didn't have us finishing top 4. I thought 7th tbh. I think the fact that most prem fans have been slating Chelsea has taken away from the fact that we got to a cup final in the worst period over the past20-30 years. I don't think we'll win it but the fact that we got there is enough for most of us

    If we're talking about the job according to the squads, Poch has done much worse. Half of Newcastle's squad were part of the team that were 20th. Any club that would have the squad Chelsea have would be massively underperforming in comparison.

    The 1 billion quid argument is such a surface level argument. Chelsea basically replaced their whole team, only 3 players from their Champions league winning team in 2021 are still there. Thiago Silva, Reece James, and Ben Chilwell. Thiago is leaving at the end of this season, Reece is always injured, and Chilwell is always injured too. Investing a Billion to replace all your players is not ridiculous when you understand how many players they had to replace. Use a better argument.

And I’m probably still missing players. But loads of teams have had injuries and absences that have impacted them. Liverpool have had players like salah, alisson, van dijk, Trent, Robertson, jota, tsimikas, matip, endo etc all out and we’re still top, we’ve had thiago injured for 10 bloody months just to come back and get injured again. Suggesting Eddie Howe is under pressure is complete delusion. Did anyone actually think he would improve on a champions league spot? The team were always going to go backwards this year. And even with the injury setbacks they’re still sitting in a decent position. Yes they’ve shipped goals, they’ve scored a lot too, the team isn’t as balanced as it was, personally I think Pope has been their biggest loss and that had effected the defenders too. I could see it on the Notts Forest game that the defence and goalkeeper were not on the same page at all.
    Eddie Howe is the man for the job long term 100%.
