What is the standard of living in this city in terms of weather, safety, luxury, social services, and work?

Bologna offers a high standard of living with a temperate climate, hot summers, and cold winters. It's considered relatively safe with low serious crime rates. The city provides a decent level of luxury with upscale shopping, gourmet dining, and elegant accommodations, though not as extensive as cities like Milan or Rome. Social services are strong, with excellent healthcare and education, thanks in part to hosting one of the world's oldest universities. The job market is fairly robust, especially in education, research, mechanics, agri-food, publishing, and fashion, but young people may face higher unemployment and job precarity.

Hello, I'm from Piedmont but are more than 20 years that I'm living in Bologna. So about your question, Bologna offers a high standard of living across various aspects and in the Sole 24 Ore (main economic journal in Italy), ranked in 2023 and 2022 the 1st place for high quality of life, and by more than 20 years is always in the first 3 placements.
Concerning the weather: Bologna experiences a humid climate, with hot summers and cool damp winters.
About the safety, Bologna is considered a very safe city, due to the presence of many thousands of students, lively atmosphere with restaurants and clubs open till late at night. But, like any average size urban areas, it has its share of little crimes, but serious crime rates are almost null. The city has efficient law enforcement and emergency services.
About luxury, the city offers a blend of luxury and historical shops especially in the city centre. You can find easily high-end boutiques in the area of Via Farini or Via Indipendenza, gourmet restaurants, luxury hotels and lot of cultural centres and cultural life as Opera theatre, famous festivals and international events mainly in the Fiera di Bologna. If you mean something luxury product create and produced in Bologna, the city is the birthplace of Maserati, Lamborghini, Ducati and not far you can find Ferrari in Modena! The surrounding region of Emilia-Romagna is renowned for its culinary gourmet delights like Parmigiano Reggiano, balsamic vinegar, mortadella and Prosciutto di Parma.
Concerning the social services: Italy, in general, provides comprehensive social services, including healthcare, education, and social welfare. Bologna has well-established healthcare facilities and educational institutions as the Oldest and first University in the World dated 1080 AD. The city also offers various social support programs for residents in need.
If you are looking for job opportunities the city is a major economic hub in Italy, with a diverse range of industries including manufacturing, services, education, and research. The city hosts several research institutions, contributing to a vibrant intellectual atmosphere. Job opportunities exist across various sectors, although proficiency in Italian may be necessary for certain roles.
A nice place to live and work in general, but, as with any city, individual experiences may vary depending on personal preferences and circumstances.
