Fly Fishing For Rainbow Trout With Small Streamers (South Africa)

- Rainbow trout is the fish of choice in this video and I catch all the rainbow trout on a white streamer fly and all of this happened at the Edenvale quarry in the middle of Johannesburg city This was my second attempt to catching trout.
As an angler I personally enjoy ever type of fishing. For me it is a challenge to learn a new style. Catching trout on fly fishing equipment has become a major interest for me and I want to learn everything about the sport.
Fishing a streamer for me is very exciting since the trout follow in and hit as hard as they can. The feeling of your thin fly rod bending over and the line peeling through your fingers. Has become a feeling I wanna replicate on a constant basis.
I used a a white a streamer with a little bit of orange in the body. I would cast the streamer out as far I could and then I slowly pealed the line. The trout where loving this fly on a very slow peel. I caught some really good rainbow trout in this season of fishing.

Bro great vid!! Next time you fish for trout please try this, when you hook up, instead of pulling the fish in gradually, try letting the fish pull lime gradually then use the reel to bring the fish in you will have more landed fish due to more rod and reel control cheerz man

How do you feel the bite on fly? I've never picked up a fly setup before, do you watch the line like with bass or do you feel the take on the line?
So i'm not hundred percent sure because i'm really new to fly fishing myself but with fishing a streamer fly it is quiet aggressive so you will feel the bite

You being a noob at this instead of just watching the pros and succeeding at second attempt is an inspiration to the rest to get into it. I have most of the gear, want to head out to that spot for my first try. Can you advise on the fees at Edenvale Quarry?

Um I actually can't get myself to to kill a fish. I have eaten trout and they are amazing. I guess i'm just more of a catch and release guy
What line are you using there?
In this video I am using 6-8 weight sinking line with a built leader which consists of a 3 foot 20 pound butt section a 3 foot 15 pound mid section and a 3 foot 10 pound tipitt
