    Alright, i'll try to do the math for this but i'm probably gonna be wrong :)
    In the beginning, your max. vertical elevation is 2784 meters. at the bottom you are around 1780 meters which means you climbed approx. 1004 meters. Let's say the average hiker climbs around 2 miles per hour. Since you are climbing quite steeply with gear and on snow, I will reduce this to around 1.25 miles per hour which equals = 0.5588 meters per second.
    Since time = distance / speed --> 1004/0.5588 = 1,796.7072297781 seconds
    Seconds converted to hours = 3.2768631193828055004 which is approx. = 3 hours, 16 minutes and 37 seconds.
    I am probably wrong and did not take into account other factors such as break times so it would probably be around 3 hours and 30 minutes or longer :))

    • @jonas9451
      @jonas9451 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ngl horizontal distance also matters so I have no idea xD + it seems you reached the top when the sun is setting making it seem like it took longer than what I estimated haha

    Video starts at 2,784 m of elevation, ends at 1,779 m, so almost exactly 1,000 m of elevation gain. The run had several flat sections, which makes it pretty long - but then again, you may have taken shortcuts on the way up. Factor in the heavy snowboard boots and the board on your back... I'll say 3 hours, 42 minutes.

    Just a word to all the newbies thinking 'I want to go fast too!'
    I ask you, do you know a single trick yet?
    Can you ride a whole run switch?
    Can you really, really emergency brake?
    How is your slalom or boarder cross?
    Have you been to park at all yet?
    How are your off piste skills?
    Have you ever been down a black?
    Do you know the run? Is it a quiet red or a blue full of beginners, grannies, kids and ski school snakes?
    Is the run in good condition?
    Is the visibility good?
    Do you have a first aid kit?
    Are you tired?

      I'm using the Garmin Fenix3 watch and then i pull the GPX file into Garmin Virb Edit to make the speedometers, hope that helps!!

    Is this chest or helmet mounted? Im trying to figure out what's the best mounting position for gopro and this one seems to take the cake so far.

    • @malcolmmoore
      @malcolmmoore  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Helmet, with the gopro max lens mod to get a slightly wider field of view!

    Hey Malcolm, are you still using the noir matter quark stabilizer? Curious to hear some long term use feedback.

    • @malcolmmoore
      @malcolmmoore  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah sometimes but only with the hero 8, the hero 9 has horizon levelling when recording in linear mode, or when recording in superview with the max lens mod which kind of makes it redundant. Unless you need horizon levelling for wide mode then you dont really need it. Plus the customer support was pants so I don't want to promote them!

      @@malcolmmoore dude, I keep hearing customer service horror stories, I guess I just needed confirmation from a fellow snowboarder lol. It’s too bad, really. Was hoping for a wearable gimbal to use with my el grande pole. I’ve got the 9 with some ND Filters and would like to have a bit more control with exposure, using the 180 degree shutter rule. Though low shutter renders hypersmooth useless :/

    what is your setup for filming? go pro with mod or insta on helmet? any offsets for the support? looks 👍👌

      Gopro with max lens mod on the helmet. Then dual mics on either side of the helmet to capture the audio recording in an external audio recorder synced up with the clap at the end!

    Hey man when you said "my legs are on fire" are you referring to the thigh muscles from being contracted since the top pretty much, or are you referring to the toes area inside of your boots, suggesting they had become numb?
    I'm experiening continuous problems with the bottom part of my foot inside the boot - although my boots are the exact right size and they do feel very comfy and snug and perfect pretty much, after a while they just start going numb. I've bought custom insoles from Sidas with high arch, which alleviates it a bit, however it still happens and I was just curious if it happens to you too.

      Get bigger boots, so you can fan & wriggle your toes in them, with a strap on the boot liner, to push your heel into the heelcup, Don’t overtighten your bindings, & never be tempted to double-sock.

    Hi, awesome video again, like all the others. Makes me miss snowboard vacations even more -.- ... Also props to your tutorial videos. You are explaining in such a good and vividly way everybody should be able to understand what you mean and benefit from that. My guess: It took you 2h30min to hike up there. I would love to see your leg work on the snowboard from time to time in such videos :D but anyway, keep it up!
