    Honestly, as long as a tool achieves what you or your business needs it for who really cares if another tool has such and such integration or handles such and such task better. That's always been my stance. Do your own research, watch reviews and demos, trial things, and draw your own conclusions. I think some people expect other people in the community to make the decision for them as opposed to learning and trying things themselves.

    Hi. Part of the problem when trying to solve a problem is trying to discover what the industry calls it. Search terms are important. I found out about NinjaOne from one of those so-called review websites then found your review of it. I think a full RMM/PSA/ETC suite is more than what I'm looking for if I just want a system that can do software and patch management, perhaps something like Automox, if you've heard of that. Do you have either other recommendations for software/patch mgmt or a proper term for that ( if it's something other than RMM )? Thanks a ton!

    • @Finchwizard
      @Finchwizard ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you figure it out. I was toying up with the idea of NinjaRMM because I like a lot of the features, but patch management I wasn't sure to offload to something like Automox too. Rather not be spending money on everything.

    I actually missed the part on whats to setup on the client, I guess its an agent you have to install? Also, are you also managing Laptops with it? Will it be different because laptops are not always connected?
    Cheers and thanks, as always been a good one!

    • @LAWRENCESYSTEMS

      Yes, you install with an agent that is specific to each customer install, and the different policies is so you have alerts based on device type such as don't alert me when someone turns off their laptop.

      For us the agents being able to send health data to probes rather than directly to Ncentral, a simpler approach to service templates, out of the box support for Veeam BAR, the reboot required status not risking a loop so it may be used for a filter are just a few off the top of my head missing wishlist for Nable.

    • @jonathanjohnstone7351
      @jonathanjohnstone7351 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Wahinies
      Probes Can be used to monitor the devices albeit not to the same extent as devices directly reporting back to nc.
      The automated out of the box monitoring is something that’s a plus. There are many pre built monitoring templates, including veeam backup and recovery.
      It in doubt just reach out to an account manager and there are people who can show you how, also hopefully simplify your experience 👍

    I'm sure it's been mentioned by someone else somewhere in the comments, but Solarwinds is the parent company that owns the Orion enterprise product and which used to own what is now known as N-able RMM and N-able N-central. Orion still exists, but the main obvious reason why these other two products were split off under the new N-able company was because Orion experienced one of the worst hacks in history. How better to make it clear that neither RMM nor N-central were affected by the Orion hack than to put them under their own company and branding? Based on what was said in this video about the legacy of "Solarwinds", I suspect he was actually using N-able's RMM product, which again is very different from Orion (enterprise product owned by Solarwinds) and N-able N-central (self-host product owned by N-able). I'm sure this is clear as mud now. ;)
    Solarwinds
    - Orion product (experienced very bad hack) -- for enterprises, governments, etc.
    N-able
    - RMM product - for MSPs
    - N-central product - for MSPs

    Totally offtopic but .. your rack in the background is not straight (or at least, thats how it looks from the camera). It's been bugging me for quite a few videos now haha!

      It's the camera angle, will be fixed once my new studio is done.

    I really love my Datto RMM (with the new UI), it’s a pass for me!

    How do you call yourself an IT Professional if you actually read the documentation? Come on. No one reads the docs. ;-)

    It's so overpriced. One day you'll ask yourself why you are sending them over 1k a month. MSP tools are overpriced and advantage the investors of the companies more than the techs that use them.

      I don't ask that because until there is a better way to manage thousands of Windows end points tools such as NinjaOne are how we plan to do it.

      Its also pretty bad the AV usage bill isn't a separate line item. If you opt for it you pay for it whether you use it or not.

      I will second this. When we went to price out Ninja for 1500 endpoints + all the packages, it came out to $5k a month. Datto at least tried to make us a deal by incorporating endpoint protection and backup for $2500 a month.
