    I started listened to Fake Heiress yesterday and I ended up listening to all of the episodes! It was brilliant. I'm going to get the book now! Thanks for the recommendation. I do love things that are based on a true story.

    Love the dress- great fan of fortunately -with Fi and Jane - hilarious over 50’s just talking about life from that perspective - as well as interesting interviews with wide range of guests . Looking forward to stitch show

    Love that dress Kate! I agree you could make a size smaller, you kept pulling the shoulder up! I really want that pattern. I quite like thw Sissy dress though I think it may accentuate my fat tummy! The podcasts seem interesting, I will go and have a 'listen'. I've put that like that because I am profoundly deaf. I do have a few low sounds so, if I turn the volume right up, I may 'hear' it. I can do with a good laugh. The second one reminds me of the film Catch me if You Can. That was based on a true story where this chap conned his way round the world, even flew planes pretending to be a pilot! He was a master forger and, after he was caught, was employed by whoever it was to weed out forgeries! Brilliant film I wouldn't have looked twice at if my middle son hadn't told me to watch it. I am so glad he did. Thank you for this video. I always look forward to seeing you. Oh! I always admire your flowers.

    I love your dress Kate; I think I’m going to have to break my purdah and buy that pattern! (I especially love those drapey bishop sleeves and your elastic hack.) I’m really glad you’ve got your sojo back; I’m itching to make myself a frock but I’m starting a tweed tote for a friend first. I know she’ll like it and I’ve got a lot to thank her for. As usual, I really enjoyed your round up, thank you for posting it:))

    Love you and the Fold Line. I think you will be happier with your dress if you tighten up, shorten, the back neck line. I don't think you need a smaller size all over. For this dress I would hand sew an elastic thread from shoulder to shoulder through the back neck and tighten it up a little.

    Hooray! The fabric for your dress is lovely. I bet if you wanted the look of the ties at the sleeve cuffs with more practicality you could still use elastic but formalize the casing and add a permanent accent tie that’s stitched in place. You could get the look without sipping into your lunch.

    Lovely dress Kate colour really suits. I love cut flowers to and tried Freddie’s Flowers they are good but as not in London the extra miles wasn’t sustainable so source locally, cheaper as well of course. Look forward to your next pattern review

      @TheFoldLine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I appreciate that out of London you might want to find something locally, they really are something that has become really important to me. They make me happy on a daily basis!

    Just a heads up that no trains will be running to Kings Cross station on the weekend of the Stitch Festival (29th Feb & 1st March) since there are works on the East line. A shame since I was planning to go but live in Scotland and flying is just a pain. Maybe next year! Love your videos :)

    • @TheFoldLine
      @TheFoldLine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Don't worry, all trains will be going into Kings Cross St Pancreas instead, which is 1 minute walk from the normal Kings Cross station. Hope to see you there!

    • @solangebeauty
      @solangebeauty 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not for the trains from Scotland I'm afraid. Only option is to connect somewhere else and get to Euston and it makes the journey a lot longer! Maybe next year :)

    Love the dress and very happy to see that you have made something new. I asked you about the flowers and the vases last year about 8 months ago, I sure wish I could use the link but I doubt that he could pedal to the states. I wonder if maybe they will send them? Will definitely be checking on it. I have to find the story about the heiress, there are many things that you suggest that I have really enjoyed. I actually just watched the Modern Love series again and continue to listen to the podcast. Can't wait for the bee!

    • @TheFoldLine
      @TheFoldLine  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha it might be a little too far to pedal the flowers to you!! So pleased we've sent some stuff you've enjoyed your way. The Modern love series is amazing I think I'm going to rewatch it too!

    I cannot believe Isaac Singer manufactured a sewing machine that sewed at 900 stitches per minute. The basic to mid range modern Singer sewing machines available at Spotlight here in Australia sew at about 750 stitches per minute. We are being conned with some of the fancy new sewing machines that sew at very slow pace.

    • @TheFoldLine
      @TheFoldLine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is good knowledge and hilarious that we are sewing with slower machines!

    I found a podcast that you might cbe interested in, it's called "Wardrobe Crisis" by Vogue Australia's Sustainability Editor Clare Press. Some great interviews and I think sewists are often somewhat into the idea of sustainability
