    Все оценки от слова очень: очень сильно, в одном порыве, очень пропущено через себя, очень по-своему и очень артистично. Браво!

    Very well done! For those interested, another example of this piece played very well is a recording by Alexander Borovsky. In my opinion, Borovsky has few peers in Bach on the piano, but recordings are very hard to find.

    fabulous performance! - re the comment on a "circus act" - it obviously takes all sorts to make a world - to me it seems like a double act of homage, by performer and transcriber.....

    It's great but nothing will ever compare to hearing it on an organ.

    • @7Jaegermeister
      @7Jaegermeister 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I like hearing it on both (not at the same time, of course). Each instrument has unique things to offer. Generally, the piano allows for more expression and fine detail. A pianist can play a chord in one hand and make one note or series of notes stand out. A supreme example of this piece and of bringing out hidden detail is the recording by the pianist Alexander Borovsky.

      @@7Jaegermeister while very true, this work is so dense that without a pedal board it loses an essential feeling, the performer has to compensate with pedal, non uniform articulation and octave shifting. But nevertheless sounds great. Would recommend vikingur olafssons performance of one of the organ sonatas adagio, its better for me on piano than organ!

    Fugue: Good speed, but too much pedal. Compare to performances by Borovsky, and by Kit Armstrong:
    th-cam.com/video/Mi2Hr6-4Zeo/w-d-xo.html
    who takes it fast, with the right amount of pedal, and perfect touch.

    • @thereyougoagain1280

      To the contrary, it’s faster than usual, but it’s supposed to be allegro, so it’s actually quite accurate

    I know it's a fantasia, but this really meant to be played on an organ...

    • @noahmendez121
      @noahmendez121 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm sure Bach would have disagreed with the notion of certain music being "meant" for one instrument over the others.

    • @magoit
      @magoit 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Franz Liszt Ah, don't mind. Just one of these guys claiming that Bach only works on instruments of his time. So Bach is never meant to be played on the piano - how dare you Glenn Gould, Andras Schiff and Tatiana Nikolayeva! Please get yourself a Harpsichord.

      Bach transcribed works of other contemporary composers especially Vivaldi. I believe he would be delighted to see his works transcribed to other instruments. I prefer the organ version, but this transcription has merit and is extremely difficult to play as expected from Liszt. But for his harpsichord works I prefer them on the harpsichord.

      Stefan Schmalhaus I completely agree. It was a serious lapse in his judgement. We really didn't need this. I'm shocked any pianist even plays it, with all the repertoire pianists have.

    • @ReubenLL28
      @ReubenLL28 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      darren motise We don't "need" any music then, by that reasoning. What if a pianist wants to play an organ piece, but cannot play the organ? I see no reason why they should be denied the pleasure.

    • @TheGloryofMusic
      @TheGloryofMusic 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I find piano arrangements of Bach's organ works problematic, but they do allow the concert-going public to hear repertoire that they might not have access to otherwise. And there is nothing wrong with reading Bach's organ music at the piano for private meditation.

    • @tjpj111

      So none of you can listen to this and perhaps get a better understanding of Liszt and the way he saw others’ music. Complete lack of insight it seems.
