Fun fact: SHINee's "Body Rhythm" is a B-side song from their Don't Call Me album, which came out in 2021, and it originally didn't have choreography. However, Minho wanted to perform the song at his solo fan meeting that year, so he worked with his choreographers to come up with this dance.
The performance from SHINee's recent SHINee World Concert VI (SWC6) in Seoul, which took place right before their "Hard" comeback promotions started in June, was the first time the members performed it together.
If you think this performance was too hot to handle, just wait until you see Minho's solo version, th-cam.com/video/G530APy0HJ4/w-d-xo.html.
Plus, you should check out a lyric video for the song, so you can hear Onew's voice on the track as well. When all their voices come together, it's even more magical. (Onew didn't participate in this concert because he is currently on hiatus for his health.)

Woooo love whenever someone goes on the shinee journey! Minho is pretty much a jock, loves sports and working out and was in the marines for enlistment so yeah he is jacked. I'm sure the shinee world 4 performance of "Dynamite" is recommended for that reason lol. They're really just so amazing at everything especially their concert performances and they all have solo careers too. Checking out a guide at some point would help

As you know now, in "Everybody" SHINee are supposed to be toy soldiers and they get their energy and power from their fans. All their moves in the choreography should look artificial because they aren't human in this storyline, they are toys. In the MV the fans plug in the power, which sends the electricity to the grid on the floor where the members are laying and it activates the first member, Key, which then sets off a chain reaction that proceeds to activate the rest of the members.
All the moves and everything you see is supposed to remind you of how a toy soldier would look and move. Their fans power them up and that's why in the beginning they wake up from the floor and in the end, they run out of energy and they disengage and fall back down to the floor to wait for the fans to come and power them back up again.
At one point you see Minho give the members an energy boost by pulling Key's pull string, winding Jonghyun's windup key, using a defibrillator to jumpstart Taemin and activating Onew by turning him on with a remote control. They do that jittery, hopping move because it's supposed to look like they are mechanical toys being reactivated.
If you watch SHINee's MMTG ep. 183, which is part 2 of ep. 181 (I also recommend watching the first half of the show), you will hear them explain "Everybody's" whole storyline, why the choreography was designed the way it was and what makes this dance so difficult and iconic, etc.
In the middle of the performance, where they come together and create that picture in their dance, as they explained at the beginning of the dance practice, they are supposed to look like an airplane, that's why Onew spins his arms round really fast like the propeller of a plane. The plane has to do with the fact that they are soldiers and they are depicting a scene from a battle during the Korean War.
Yet again, SHINee are trendsetters, Dubstep was a new style of music and sound when "Everybody" came out in 2013, and they introduced the genre to the Kpop industry. And combining that with popping, locking and robotics as part of the choreography was also new.

Tony Testa, who is a famous American choreographer that has worked with artists like Michael Jackson, choreographed "Everybody", as well as SHINee's "Sherlock (Clue & Note)," "Dream Girl" and "Married to the Music." He has also worked with other SM groups and artists, such as TVXQ and Super Junior. SHINee's "Sherlock (Clue & Note) was his first Kpop project and it was one of the first times anyone in the Kpop industry used a big-name international choreographer.
One thing you should know about SHINee is, they have always been known for saving their energy for where it counts the most -- for live performances and for filming MVs -- dance practices for them are literally dance practices. They are less worried about being spot on exact, and more about showing everyone the feel of the choreography and the story behind the dance. (Fun fact: Yes, SHINee was the group that released Kpop's very first dance practice video for their song "Lucifer" in 2010, and they are the reason why Kpop groups create dance practice/performance videos today.)
However, in their live performances you will see just how much of an expert they really are. Seeing as they are also singing live almost 100% of the time while performing for 3+ hours, you will notice moments where they conserve their energy, only to release it full out during the most intense parts of the dance or performance. If you think this dance practice looked impressive, just wait until you see a live performance.
SHINee are known for their live stages and amazing vocals and dancing. There is nothing better than SHINee live. SHINee live are unmatched. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing, so they avoid it at all costs. Therefore, when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, what you will hear is their live vocals. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography like this. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It's literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach.

You may have noticed that "Sherlock" felt like you were listening to more than one song because it's a special song that combines 2 songs from SHINee's album "Clue" and "Note." That's why the title of this MV is "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" If you were to listen to the album you would see that they are two separate songs, but when combined they become "Sherlock." So, in the MV you hear the mashup of the two songs.
Why wouldn't you want to watch the original version of "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" with the storyline? Not sure why someone would ONLY recommend the dance version. Although this is a good way to see the choreography, you miss out on a lot of the iconic parts of the MV because they only show you the dance break sections and not the whole MV. I recommend you also check out the regular MV to see the storyline.
In SHINee's "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" MV the boys are Sherlock-like detectives who are looking for clues in the spooky mansion. SHINee are supposed to be detectives, so the choreography has been designed to give them Sherlock-like poses and to show them investigating clues, and taking photos, etc. That is why they do that Sherlock Holmes-style exaggerated march, and why you see them kneel down and draw a line on the floor, and why they hold their hands out like they are snapping a photo, and they have that move that looks like they are brushing dust from their sleeves, etc.
The room where they have their dance breaks is the main hall of the museum, like a large ballroom in a mansion or great hall, etc. And the compass rose star in the middle of the floor I interpret to represent SHINee who are known as shining stars and as a symbol for how they are navigating the globe as they reach fans all over the world.
SHINee was actually starting a fashion trend at that time. As you may remember, SHINee are known for being one step ahead when it comes to fashion because they are the ones that start the trends in Korea that eventually influence fashion trends around the world. Fashion designers actually covet a chance to work with SHINee, or any of the members individually for that matter, because they know that if they can get SHINee to wear their clothes that they will become super popular.
And, yes, this was the era of Taemin with long hair. Although, in the MV, Taemin's really long hair was a wig. He only has long straight hair during the dance breaks. But if you watch the regular MV, you will see that during the story sections his hair is much shorter and kind of curly. (He had to go back and forth between long and short hair for the MV shoot so it was easier for them to use a wig, but later on for promotions he had hair extensions.) However, he really did grow his hair long for a while during "Lucifer" area in 2010. Taemin with long hair is one of his most iconic looks. I didn't really like his wig look, but Taemin with naturally long hair/hair extensions during Sherlock era is one of my favorites. (He is actually known for making girls jealous because his hair is so perfect.) Many people thing that Taemin with long hair made him look pretty like a girl, but I actually think it's kind of a masculine look on him.
Taemin's hairstyle also made him one of the most popular of the members with their Japanese fans. This was the era when SHINee really started to solidify themselves as Japanese artists, so Taemin's look had Japanese fans gravitating to them. (SHINee debuted in Japan in 2011 and now they are considered one of the most popular artists in Japan as well.)
"Sherlock (Clue & Note)" came out in 2012 -- 4 years after their debut with "Replay." So Taemin is now 18 in this MV. Onew is 22, Jonghyun is 21 and Key and Minho are 20.
The choreography for "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" was created by Tony Testa a very well-known "Hollywood"-famous American choreographer who has also worked with some of the most famous artists, productions and dancers in the world, including Michael Jackson. "Sherlock" was the first time SM (or pretty much anyone in the Kpop industry) had ever used a famous choreographer, and at the time, it was the most expensive Kpop production ever. Once again, SHINee were trendsetters and, because of SHINee's skill level, SM became the first to see the value in using a well-known choreographer to help create their dances and to strive for a level of choreography and video production that surpassed anything that had ever been done before. (Now, SHINee -- and numerous SM groups -- have worked with Tony Testa multiple times over the years.) Today it's common place for Kpop companies to have really famous in-house choreographers, and to seek out people in the industry who are really making a name for themselves to choreograph for them, but SHINee was one of the first.
If you want to see the choreography even better, you should check out SHINee's "Sherlock" dance practice video.

No, you really gotta watch Sherlock live! They always adapt this song for concerts. Here you go: th-cam.com/video/M4pINahBoRY/w-d-xo.html This is what's always recommended.
As for Everybody, the requisite live performance is this one: th-cam.com/video/P_VJ_flgEVo/w-d-xo.html
It'd be great if you did them in the same video - both are high energy!

LMBOOOOOOOO!!! I knew you’d love Body Rhythm!!! I couldn’t help giggling at your reactions because they were very much similar to my own. 😂
I love how the Sherlock performance video highlights and really shows the choreo, which was the most expensive choreography at the time (not sure if it’s ever been exceeded) as they had famed Michael Jackson choreographer Tony Testa fly to Korea for it. Live, this is one of the best concert openers OF ALL TIME: th-cam.com/video/M4pINahBoRY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=T7YiuOqrRnz_kD2M at SWCIV.
As for Everybody, I hope you’ll watch the MV at some point because it may clear some of the choreo choices…they’re toy soldiers. As per usual, the live version is premier, but seeing their interaction during the beginning of the practice is really fun. Here’s a link to the Tokyo Dome performance: th-cam.com/video/P_VJ_flgEVo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cGW-WMNLts0D5mIm Until Don’t Call Me, the guys said this was their most difficult choreography…and watching them perform it live really puts it into perspective when you see them jumping around on stage while belting high notes. In fact, most groups covering this song seem to leave that bit out (from what I’ve been told), though there are a couple brave ones to leave it in. EXO covered it, but brought SHINee out to finish the song and it was glorious!
I love that Rusty is becoming Shawol along with you!!
