The scariest thing about radiation is the walking ghost phase, where you seem to be fine but your immune system is collapsing and pathogens can infect you. Extremely high doses, over 1000 sieverts, kill quickly not from cell damage but from cerebral haemorrhage (brain bleeding).

Those guys on the wind turbine make me think of the people above the impact zones in the World Trade Center on 9/11

"Chism was convicted of raping Ritzer inside the bathroom but was acquitted of a second rape, committed with a tree branch in woods near the school where Chism put her body. He was also convicted of armed robbery for stealing Ritzer’s credit cards and her underwear."

idk if you already know it, but there's a channel called "Fascinating Horror" that I think you would like and might be suitable for reactions. Each video is typically around 10 minutes, and focuses on a single topic, but doesn't use sensationalism and gratuitous imagery but they seem to get the tone right. Worth checking out IMO

Any job where you have limited exits and/or a dangerous environment where equipment is necessary to keep you alive is going to be considered high(er) risk. It should be required to have precautions for a proper escape if a catastrophe occurs. It usually is only required after a tragedy occurs. Some companies implement safety features and standards themselves, even if the government or industry standards don’t require certain features.

Mt buddy has been working on windows turbines for a decade now. I remember how he got the job, he called me. He said hey, I got this job where all we do is repair lights on top of towers but it'll lead into wind turbines. I said nah I don't do heights, I went to new Orleans to destroy homes instead. He has been working on turbines like 8 years. But even now I'm like oh he'll nah. 19 and 21. Children. Smh

The dumbest thing was the "trigger word" was the name of the city he used to live in. They interviewed some kids from the class and that’s what set him off. I think some people are walking around, locked and loaded without weapons, and just saying hi can be a trigger.
Our world is so profoundly messed up.

I’ve had three hours sleep total in the last three days/nights. Lack of sleep sucks.

It has never made sense to me why employers who have workers who have to go up onto turbines like that for example, aren’t given emergency parachutes that they should be wearing at all times

    • @kylienagy8381
      @kylienagy8381 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

It's because a parachute wouldn't be useful. Minimum height to open a parachute is 400 feet. Most turbines are below 200.
Edit-and 400 feet is a military record, below terminal velocity.

They could make specialized parachutes that inflate with compressed helium.

Yeah I think the only thing here would have been those huge inflatables they use for suicide jumpers. Maybe they could have jumped off onto one of those and at least lived.

Please react to "Cuban Goes to American Supermarket for the 1st time- Communism to Capitalism" by Yoel And Mari. Make sure you have subtitles on.

    Very interesting.
Chism used a defense of she used a "trigger word?" Really! Even if she called him a whole bunch of racially abusive and generally insulting words, that is no reason to rape and kill her. Not at all. Sorry I don't buy it. He just used that as an excuse for his evil murderous actions. He should get an additional twenty years for using such a defense and his lawyer should be suspended from practicing for a period of years.

I guarantee the one that went through the fire was the 21 year old and that probably felt the 19 year old was a brother. Man. People really think life is like video games and movies. There isn't a rewind, there isn't another life, there's this one.

I don't know anything about wind turbines but couldn't they have tried to get on one of the blades? Then again... those would have probably fallen/broken off at one point

    • @MySerpentine

Probably would have turned under them, that just a big fan blade.
