    Hi mate I know Freewell send you the filters but do you think it worth the extra cost,seeing as your vids with Sunnylife filters were awesome anyway. The slight differences i noticed in the lighting could be managed in post couldnt they? ALSO CONGRATS 1.1K Stoked for you mate ;)

      Hi! I can't honestly say until I've shot more video with them. If they produce a cleaner image in those low sun conditions, then I would say yes. I will continue to use the Freewell filters, and once I've captured enough evidence to prove they're better, or otherwise, I'll make sure to make a video on it.

      I’m using the 6 in a box Sunnylife ND PL filters, they are good, and and the price they are selling it’s awesome. ND filters are not much of a difference, unless you’re comparing camera lenses..

      Freewell are 5 x the price of the sunnylife, so I know which ones I will be getting 🤣

      @@grossi46 I own the Freewell. They are no better than any other ND filters on the market, but they give away free demos to TH-cam influencers and jack up the price in order to compensate. Lots of annoying green and purple hue flare on the NP polarizing lens set. Get the less expensive of the two brands and save some money 4-sure!

    Thanks for showing the difference. To me they both look great. I have the Sunnylife but have only flown once since I got them. Kinda mostly cloudy day when I flew using an ND4. The 180 rule with the ND filter definitely made a better video. Liked and subscribed to your channel.

    Freewell are certainly doing a good job getting their product out to youtube content creators that's for sure, you're at least the 3rd person I sub too to get sent the 8 pack in as many weeks. As with some of the other people who have commented, the price is the main thing when it comes to casual flyers like myself who has to fit in flying around work and life in general. I can't justify spending £100+ on something when I can pick the sunnylife ones for a third of the price, and let's be honest, you end up spending A LOT of extra cash on accessories as it is. Drone flying ain't cheap! Sunnylife might not be as good, but they do the job! As you say the Freewell 8 pack doesn't seem to exist on Amazon UK either, I've been looking out for them for months now but nada. So they need to sort that out as by looks of things buying direct will result in custom fees potentially.

      Well said. The Sunnylife filters are absolutely fine to start out with, and until I've shot more video with the Freewell filters, I'm not going to side one way or the other.

  • @gp8155

    Great comparison video Wayne. Time stamps could help but as you know constantly evolving clouds across the sun (late September in South UK) every minute can make a huge difference. I propose DJI offer to send you another mini 2 so you can fly with Sunnylife and Freewell at exactly the same time... Or maybe a mini 2 wielding friend?
    I've found the 180 rule sucks if you want to capture fast moving objects. @ 1:05 you got 1/2000 clear versus 1/60 blurry ones, and there was no obvious over exposure either. I suspect you used your post editing skills to smooth out the high FPS in this example!?

    • @waynewebb8002
      @waynewebb8002  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think the CAA would be impressed if I flew two drones at the same time lol.
      The 180 rule is a standard for filmmaking, so I'll stick to it, and I think you might be a little confused about the shutter speed. I didn't do any post processing, I'm capturing at 30 frames per second, and yes, each one was sharp. The shutter speed determines how long the sensor is exposed to light for each frame, it is not the frame rate. I used an ND filter to achieve 1/50s (video on the left), and no filter on the right (that's why I had to increase the shutter speed to decrease the amount of light exposed to the sensor). I hope that helps. Thanks for watching :)

      @@waynewebb8002 Doh! You're right I did confuse shutter speed with FPS! Can I claim it was late?!

    I think the free well are slightly darker. It’s hard to tell. I have the sunnyLife ones and I’m happy with the results I get. I might try free well in future

      The Sunnylife filters have absolutely done the job so far, and are a great cheaper alternative. Only time will tell with the Freewell filters, I need to continue to use them and see if the flaring issues remain, or if the Freewell filter produce a cleaner image in those specific low sun conditions.

    • @theroychan69
      @theroychan69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Mini 1 and 2 both have flaring issue, with or without the ND filters especially during sunrise and sunset where light shine at an angle to the camera. Air 2 and 2S doesn’t have that issue, yes I own all of these mentioned, it’s because of the drone camera glass, not because of using filters or not.

    Hey nice video. I have sunnylife. But when I attach to drone while drone is off, then when I turn on it says gimbal is stuck. So do you insert the filter when drone is powered on? Or off?

    • @waynewebb8002
      @waynewebb8002  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I always attached the filter when the drone is off so you don't possibly overload the gimbal motors. The gimbal does a calibration when you power on the drone, so make sure there are no obstructions stopping the gimbal movement.

    • @NishaanAhmed
      @NishaanAhmed ปีที่แล้ว

      So, ive purchased these sunnylife filters and i encountered the same issues. What i noticed that, the filter is a bit large on the bottom which prevents the camera to autocalibrate. So i trimmed a tiny slice of plastic from the bottom of the filter and voila, it works.

      Hi, I kept every setting the same to show if the two would restrict the light the same. My fault for forgetting to include the ISO setting, it was set to ISO100 for all the shots.
