Watching you smile and be mesmerized by Angus Young was such a treat. Angus has been my favorite guitarist/entertainer for over 40 years ( even have a tattoo of Angus ). Hope to see more of that smile while reacting to AC/DC.
I thought he broke a string when I first saw this back in 92. But it was his pickups going out. Notice the sound in the solo got thin like the humbucker was acting like a single coil. His sweat was notorious for getting into the electronics and shorting them out.
I didn't know the identify of Rosie but I was aware it was supposedly about a real person. I was lucky enough to see AC/DC twice before Bon passed away.
3 singers, but the first one didn't last long. Here you see Bon Scott on vocals, he passed away in 1980. Brian Johnson is the 3rd and current vocalist. Yes, he broke a string, which necessitated the guitar change. The one lyric also said "But you give it all you got weighing in at nineteen stone". 19 stone = approx. 266 pounds.. Saw AC/DC in the mid 90's, and they used that inflatable Rosie at that show. The "Witches Burn" by The Pretty Reckless live video you watched, was opening for AC/DC.
I can't believe you listened to this one and yet I missed it because I was on vacation. Well I'm checking it out now. AC/DC is definitely rock and roll! The somewhat dirty kind. 😉
Key thing to watch that’s interesting is when Angus has a problem with his guitar and needs to change it, the change is almost seamless in the sound of the music because Malcolm - the guy to the left of the drums (via our POV aka the drummer’s right) - Angus’ (lead guitarist)’s brother was so good a guitarist that he was able to fill in for Angus whenever a problem would arise all while keeping the rhythm which is what a rhythm guitarist’s job is - to keep the rhythm of the song - basically the background guitar. If you were to watch their live performance of You Shook me all Night Long live 1996 at the Plaza Toros de las Ventas, you’ll see that just before Brian starts singing, Angus snaps a string and has to change his guitar and Malcolm essentially plays lead until Angus changes his guitar which coincidentally happened to be when Malcolm would naturally enter the song anyway. He was so skilled and so smart and a HUGE loss in the musical world. Losing him in 2017 forever altered their sound.
Nice to see someone reacting to other AC/DC songs other than bloody Thunderstruck all the time, thanks Nikki. The band has been around for over 50 years there are other songs other than Thunderstruck or Bon Scott songs sung by Brian, nothing against Brian but Bon Scott songs should be heard sung by Bon because that's the original song and what made them popular all over the world in the first place.
I'm glad you liked it! I like checking out the stuff everyone else does but I do try to have more variety and deep cuts on my channel as well. 😉😁 Glad to have you here and I will have to check out more with Bon Scott! 😊
Bon Scott was the original singer. Brian Johnson took over after Bon died. A couple of songs you can check out are Ride On and Rock n Roll Ain't Noise Pollution.
This was the year I ended up saying "I do", I did, and had kids - It took a new millennium before I was was able to return, having done my part. I miss Bon Scott - It wasn't his voice, it was his attitude.
I would personally suggest some of their lesser known songs with Bon Scott.. Like, Night Prowler or The Jack, or Jailbreak..! The stuff that didn't really make it onto Radio Sheeple F.M. was usually some of the best stuff back then!..
I see one of the comments here saying there was three vocalists. That is correct. Dave Evans, ( no relation to former bass player Mark Evans, who is the only member/former member to write an autobiography on his time in the band & everything that happened after) was the original vocalist that was on their first single release. He sang, Can I sit next to you, girl on side A, & Rockin' in the Parlour on side B. He was literally kicked in the arse off stage at a gig once because they were doing a gig on tour once, & complained of having a cold & not wanting to give it his all. He was posing his satin clad arse to some girls in the front row like he was "The Show," when Angus threw his brother Malcolm a quick glance. Mal gave the nod, & as Dave turned back around, BOOT! Angus kicked him square in the arse off-stage! Bon Scott, who was their driver & sometimes fill in drummer, was asked to finish the show. Poor Dave had to watch on. Dave still claims to this day that he still belongs in the band. He even autographs Accadacca albums that he had nothing to do with. Sad!😢! But yeah, there you go!
Nik, remember, this is 45 years ago. When you go to see this band next year unfortunately, you will not be able to see Bon Scott because he has passed away. And of course, Angus is 45 years older so he will do his best to move around the stage but it will not be with the veracity he did in this video, 45 years ago.
Here is another oldie with the original singer Bon Scott: th-cam.com/video/g-qkY2yj4_A/w-d-xo.html. He was born in Forfar in Angus, Scotland and learn to p[lay the bagpipes. Very rare for a rockband but i think you will like it. And Angus is not standing still, even today.
There's a video of AC/DC on Australian TV doing an excellent cover of "Baby, Please Don't Go." It's hilarious and it rocks! I like that video even better than their video for "It's a Long Way to the Top if You Want to Rock & Roll."
Even though I'd sure love to hear some more AC/DC (preferably "Thunderstruck'), I hope you don't mind me recommending some 90s songs again. lol. You should check out Gin Blossoms and their song "Hey Jealousy." They're kind of one of my favorites from the 90s. And also, I'd love to hear some more Stone Temple Pilots. You should check out the song "Big Empty." It's from The Crow movie soundtrack.
Angus would sweat so much that it would end up shorting out the pickups in his guitars. I'm pretty sure that's what happened here. You aren't going to see this AC/DC next year. Those guys were young (no pun intended) and hungry. You get grandpa AC/DC. I'm sure it will still be a fun show, but nowhere near that intensity.
Cool! Going to see AC/DC in 2025 🤘🤘They r the loudest band I've seen... I suggest getting earplugs to protect ur ears. Sadly, only Angus Young (lead guitar) from this 1979 video will be onstage in 2025... Brian Johnson (vocals) who replaced Bon Scott in 1980 will be there... the current AC/DC includes Stevie Young (rhythm guitar, Angus Young's nephew), Matt Laug (drums) and Chris Chaney (bass) Past members Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar) passed away in 2017... Cliff Williams (bass) has retired - played his last AC/DC show in 2023... and Phil Rudd (drums) has legal issues from criminal convictions in New Zealand. Bon Scott was a Scottish immigrant in Australia and quite a bit older than AC/DC founders, brothers Angus and Malcolm Young (who were also Scottish immigrants)... Bon was hired as a driver for AC/DC (a local band back then) and they knew he was a singer in other bands... He initially played drums for AC/DC but when their singer Dave Evans quit in 1974, Bon offered to sing... His vocals changed their sound and made AC/DC tougher and w/ attitude... They recorded 2 albums in Australia in 1975 before AC/DC was signed internationally in 1976... They came to the USA for the first time in 1977 as an opening band... When their 6th album 'Highway to Hell' in 1979 became a gold-selling success, AC/DC was headlining their tours that year. This clip was filmed in late 1979 at their Paris, France concert on the European tour for 'Highway to Hell'... it was supposed to be only shown locally but lead singer Bon Scott of AC/DC died unexpectedly in early 1980 just a few months after this concert. The filmmakers cashed in and released it internationally as the concert movie 'Let there be rock - the movie'. Brian Johnson (vocals) was hired after Bon Scott was found dead in a friend's car after a night of drinking... AC/DC recorded the album 'Back in Black' in 1980 and dedicated it to Bon Scott - it became their biggest record selling 25 million copies in the US alone... One of the top 5 selling record of all time. For the AC/DC concert... AC/DC play quite a few of their biggest songs: 'Back in black'... 'Thunderstruck' ... 'You shook me all night long'... 'Highway to Hell' ... 'Dirty deeds done dirt cheap'... 'T.N.T.' ... 'Let there be rock'... 'Shoot to thrill'... 'Whole lotta Rosie'... 'Hells bells'... 'Shot down in flames'... They always close their show w/ 'For those about to rock - we salute you'... They have a new record out in 2020 called 'Power up'... which they dedicated to their late guitarist Malcolm Young. They play a couple from it... Half their set consists of Bon Scott era AC/DC songs... this tour, they played some obscure tracks like - 'If you want blood, you've got it' (which opened the set of the last tour) ... 'Riff raff' ... 'Sin city' ... They also apparently played 'Have a drink on me' (from 'Back in Black') as well as more recent singles like "Rock n' roll train"... 'Stiff upper lip'... And Angus Young does a striptease on stage in the middle of their set, just so u know 😂
I seriously thank you for doing a Bon Scott video! I'm really kinda over the whole "Saving Brian Johnson" era, AC/DC money-making machine, if I'm being honest...
I'm pretty sure angus broke a string during this performance, and they had to switch guitars. If you want a more accurate picture of what you can expect to see now, you probably want to watch more recent material with brian johnson on vocals.
Watching you smile and be mesmerized by Angus Young was such a treat. Angus has been my favorite guitarist/entertainer for over 40 years ( even have a tattoo of Angus ). Hope to see more of that smile while reacting to AC/DC.
Got to see AC/DC in 1978, can't tell you how great they were, it was much more than great. RIP Malcom, Bon.
Your Guy knows AC/DC , this is one of my favorites because he breaks a string mid Solo and still goes hard
He does! And yeah, he really just picked it right back up. Coming out without the guitar strap even. 😅
I thought he broke a string when I first saw this back in 92. But it was his pickups going out. Notice the sound in the solo got thin like the humbucker was acting like a single coil. His sweat was notorious for getting into the electronics and shorting them out.
@@76whitecobrathat’s true, it happened due to him sweating a lot
Your hubby is a true fan putting you on to this as a reaction
I didn't know the identify of Rosie but I was aware it was supposedly about a real person. I was lucky enough to see AC/DC twice before Bon passed away.
Oh wow, that's great that you got to see them. From just this video, the energy back then seems nuts! 🤘🏻
3 singers, but the first one didn't last long. Here you see Bon Scott on vocals, he passed away in 1980. Brian Johnson is the 3rd and current vocalist.
Yes, he broke a string, which necessitated the guitar change.

Saw AC/DC in the mid 90's, and they used that inflatable Rosie at that show.
The "Witches Burn" by The Pretty Reckless live video you watched, was opening for AC/DC.
Angus (changing guitar mid song due to a broken string) and Bon, in their prime,
For Those About To Rock (we salute you( is peak AC/DC
...and THAT'S what roadies are for!
Awesome band, first time I saw them was 1980 on the Back in Black tour, last time they played theatres, in Bristol UK 🤘
Oh wow that's awesome. 😊
Great choice Nikki….. AC/DC with Bon is 🔥🔥🔥 please thank your husband for this one 🎸🤘🏼
Rosie is in a later video of the song sung, Live at River Plate (1977)
I can't believe you listened to this one and yet I missed it because I was on vacation. Well I'm checking it out now. AC/DC is definitely rock and roll! The somewhat dirty kind. 😉
Nice to see someone react to this one, "The Jack" from the same show is fantastic, Angus really got the moves in the one.
I think the guitar of angus is like his third arm , he has total control
It sure seems like it! 😂
Very interesting indeed. ive listend to /watched a fair amount of their music but hadn't caught this one before .
Heh glad I could provide a unique one! 😁
Oh, it's true. Bon was quite the character.
Yes, those are Rosie's ample measurements. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks!

One of the best rock-metal band and fantastic Bon🤘
Broken string just at the worst moment. Try Bad Boy Boogie from Live at Donnington. Numbers are Rosie's dimensions.
hell yes, he's still rockin' the stage
So awesome!

They "introduce" you to Rosie at the "River Platte" concert . . . . . If you're gonna do AC/DC you MUST see them at "River Platte". . .
I concur!
Angus broke a string. That's why he switched guitars.
A stone is 14 lbs so Rosie clocking in at 266lbs or 19 stone😂
I can tell you really got into that.
Oh, your so lucky. I wanted tickets so bad. AC/DC and The Pretty Reckless, gonna be an awesome show.
Shoot To Thrill live at Donnington is a must.
the story is Bon got caught one morning by the band, in a hotel with a very large statuesque lady so Angus wrote a song about it
🤭
Angus didn't write the song, Bon did. Angus wrote most of their songs.
Bon Scott was the original singer. Brian Johnson took over after Bon died. A couple of songs you can check out are Ride On and Rock n Roll Ain't Noise Pollution.
Thank you! I'll add them to my list. 😊

Measurements/Weight:
42” - boobs
39” - waist
56” - hips
19 stone = 266 lbs
3 singers 2 well known

Bon Scott had Aussie swagger by the truck load.
Even tho he was Scottish .
👍👍Old School Awesomeness!! 🖖❤
1980 was a tragic year. Bon died, John Lennon assisanated, John Bonham died, Ian Curtis of Joy Division suicide 😢.
You need to listen to Riff Raff by AC/DC Live at Apollo Theater 1978.
Must do the River Plate concert.
RIP Bon
Guns for hire🤘🏼

You watching the greatest band of all times... with bon scot😅😅😅😅baby please don't go....😅😅😅

I was about to say...keep your expectations waaay below what you saw here.
Good to know. 😬
too much for u noob
If you wanna check out some of Bon Scotts stuff, I can suggest Live from River Plate, an amazing Concerts.
that's with brian johnson Not Bon Scott.
@@RobertJuzstone you are 100% correct, I don't know why I wrote Bon Scott.
Angus has a habit of waterlogging Gibson SGs.
