- This week I mix up a cocktail of FOK and Koi Masters Advantage to add to the pond to benefit the fish as they come out of Spring, if that is ever going to happen as the weather in the UK is so rubbish at the moment it feels like we are still in winter...😞😲.
Also found time to refit the Pond Lights ready for the illusive summer. I'm determined to get as many BBQ's done this year if Winter ever decided to go away and let us get on with better weather...

Hi Andy, could be a good experiment check pond temp morning after with covers on at night , and then check temp the next morning after having covers off see if their's any difference 🤷♂😁
Hiya, if the air temps are up in the day there us a fluctuation in temps and if i leave the covers off over night there's a small change back again. The covers really reduce any wind chill rather than maintain the temps.. 😉👍

never used the koi masters but I have done a double PP and I also can't see the fish for about 36hrs. Nice lights. Didn't know you were a pro barman.

I use a protein shaker to mix similar clay stuff for my pond. Does a great job. Might try koi masters next. I'm using mediclay and really pleased. Fish are always very hungry after adding it.

Hiya, If I'm away for a few days and the pond has to fend for itself Id clean the filters up and wouldnt feed anything just in case of pump failure and food keeps going in so the waste isn't processed. Longer holidays and i would try to get someone to put a hand full in every few days so not feed as much as i would if i was at home. Ive never used an auto feeder but i here lots of others use them...

Hiya, thanks for that. Yeah meant to stick a bleep in there but by the time it had uploaded it was too late..Oops.. I've always been told that feeding peas, you need to shell them first, as the koi struggle to process the shells..🤔 Really hope you don't loose your 50cm...🤞🤞

Hiya, Normal doses could be added every week but that's too many days now not seeing the fish for me. The cocktails I could add once a month. The KMA does increase the KH which comes in handy for pond owners that struggle with KH levels..🤔😉👍

Do you use salt as a general tonic?
I have used a salt bath occasionally as a tonic for a fish, but never salted the pond completely. Never say never though. I can't knock it till I've tried it..😉👍
