Nice insights. An interesting thing I have noticed about legacy characters vs non legacy is that they inherit legacy execution even for newer games. If we look at some of the newcomers to Tekken 7 for instance like Katarina, Lucky Chloe and Claudio because those characters were fresh they were all given moves that have relatively easy execution with really nothing too weird going on. However the legacy characters like Law/Paul/Mishimas all have something about their execution inherited from legacy games that can make them difficult to fully utilize all their moves. Not necessarily a bad thing for those who like difficult execution. But I prefer the non legacy newer characters as they have a more modern design and easier execution.
You have a good point, plus with the Legacy characters the nostalgia is excellent with them. The classic legacy costumes like Hwoarang’s Tekken 3 suit are powerful 💯
My mains in Tekken are Raven, Hwoarang and Jin. I like mainly Raven because he's very unique and authentic, and because he resemble Naruto characters in his unorthodox fighting style approach. We need diversity in the category of fighting style, so Raven it's a very good all-rounder authentic character exemple in my opinion. My first Tekken that introduced me to the Tekken series was Tekken 3 and my mains there was Hwoarang and Jin, fast forward a couple of years and when Tekken 4 arrived, my mains there was still Hwoarang and Jin, and Christie or Eddy. But when the Masterpiece Tekken 5 arrived, Raven has always be my trump card and my first main of the Tekken Series, follow by Hwoarang, Jin and Christie or Eddy. So all of these characters that I mention are considered OG staple characters of the Tekken Franchise by many Tekken Veterans. 🤷🏻♂️☯️
Honestly, majority of the characters from Tekken 5 definitely are legacy characters no matter what their impact was. I also look at longevity of how long they’ve been in the game. If they’re not legacy characters, they easily will be after Tekken 8. I started playing Tekken since Tekken 5 and Raven was my guy, then Tekken 6 and 7, I used Bob a lot after when he debuted. Don’t forget about the forums, cosplay and tournament play. Master Raven excelled over Raven in that category. And Raven isn’t going to be highly used in Tekken 8 either., watch what I tell you💯💯
Jun is definitely a legacy character
I’m sorry but she can’t be, she’s been gone waaayy too long. She’s missed all of the legendary Tekken titles. She’s still extremely popular but there’s honestly no legacy there to speak of when it comes to Jun💯
@@DeeallthewayG If you pay attention to the lore, Jun is what progressed the story so much. Even when Jin is fighting his alter ego, Devil, Jun is always involved. Although unplayable, since Asuka has a majority of OG Jun's moves, she still gets involved in all the games somehow. That's the definition of Legacy.
@@xenos0903alt that’s not true. As much as I like Jun, her only impact is being the baby mama of a Mishima. after that she has been MIA. She created a legacy character in Jin but not for herself 💯
Lili a legacy character but not asuka that crazy they debut on the same game plus harada made a poll and asuka main blew Lilly out the water you trip in and her being a kazama already give her relevance Lilly just an annoyance to asuka at this point
Lily mains didn’t care about that poll, it was insignificant to lily fans. It meant the whole world to Asuka fans because she’s irrelevant. She’s a Kazama that has done nothing to further the Kazama/ Mishima story. Lily has a new rival her fanbase continues to get bigger and unlock Asuka she’s actually growing up💯💯
Alright fair point well just have to see what they do with her when the game drop but asuka is definitely has a lot of potential to be something bigger
@@sk8teking745 Yes, I’m definitely going to be into the story and seeing what goes down.💯
man doesnt know
